    Gout Gout and his entourage have never claimed to be the next Usain Bolt. He has a down to earth coach Di Shepherd who is developing him well. Gout has talked about continuously improving his times, that is all !

    Gout did his 100m record with 41 strides. So yeah, there’s hype about this young man and OBJECTIVE, mechanical reasons he is being likened to a young Bolt. This kid hits phenomenal top end speed and looks like he is floating. You’re cynical, maybe even bitter, and that’s fine, us Aussies are probably getting ahead of ourselves and that’s fine too. The kid not only has raw talent, he has an outstanding work ethic so yeah, I’d say there’s plenty to look forward with this young sprinter.

    I'm an Aussie living in Sydney. Gout gout is all everyone is talking about... Australia has never had anyone ever, that's even made it to the 8:59 100m Olympic final. He will be the biggest name in Australian sport over the next 10=15 years ....he was born in Queensland and it just sp happens, 2032 Olympics is in Queensland .he will be in his absolute prime then. Its gonna be massive for this country. Just like Cathy freeman in Sydney 2000. I can't wait to watch every step of his career.

    I think there is something that just looks remarkable about Gout Gout's style. He just looks qualitatively different running. I think that is part of the excitement, which is sort of untangible.

      Agree - he looks more effortless. All other athletes look to be pushing and straining whereas Gout seems to be flying effortlessly. I hope a good coach can injury proof his technique and improve his start.

      It’s his stride rate. 41 strides over 100m. That’s why it looks like he is flying, like Bolt did. That’s why there’s so much excitement about this kid, he literally runs like Bolt and would appear to have a comparable top end speed. The only questions are work ethic (which I hear is solid) and injury. But yeah, I think people have every reason to be VERY excited about Gout. Especially us Aussies 😂

    Gout Gout is yhe real deal. The difference between him and other hyped youngsters is that his potential is clear as day. The kid is a freak of nature yet his room for improvement is very visible and that's what makes it so exciting. I see we're doubling down on this after the mini backlash in the comments in the previous video, c'mon man let ppl esp Australians have this looking ahead to Brisbane '32 :) It's not just about a 'meal ticket', fans around the world want someone who's both extremely talented but also very likeable they can root for like the world took to Tebogo this yr & Guot Guot fits that mould!

      Boy did he double down and not listen to anything said in the comments last time. I'm starting to think Americans only believe America can produce child phenoms in the sport and they're mad at us uppity Australians for thinking we can compete with them. All the comments about Gout only racing against his peers and only in Australia as if nothing achieved outside American soil counts. The strangest thing to me is when they belittle Gout for breaking Peter Norman's Australian NR as if none of them remember the historic significance of the 200m final at the Mexico City Olympics where the record was set. It's their sporting history too! Or are Australians the only ones who remember that historic podium when Peter Norman supported Tommie Smith and John Carlos's in standing for racial equality?

    I think the comparisons are stronger this time around for gout gout because of his sprinting style. Taller and lean resembles bolt a touch. The other athletes, christian miller, sani brown kiryu etc they are not in any way resembling bolt. Gouts gait seems the closest to bolt and the ceiling is really high for gout gout because he is so tall, can take fewer strides and ultimately I believe his gate has the strongest potential due to stride length - just like bolts top end was un matched. Gout shows similar pulling away abilities.
    With the other athletes compared to bolt I don't see much improvement possible for them watching back, because of their stature and ethnicity (in reference to the japanese athletes respectfully). So, the gout comparisons being so strong I think has more to do with the potential of his gait, personality, pulling away abilities etc..
    Whereas the other runners don't seen to have too much potential for their gait and it doesn't really make sense to call them the next bolt. I think also modern news outlets want to bring the casual fan back into track so the easiest way to do that is to compare to bolt. In an attempt to report on athletics and make it meaningful, this is the only way the casual fan stands up and listens.
    Anyway, these are my thoughts, love your video and just looking at the stats you are right. These comparisons don't make much sense. But I think because of the other similarities present makes this comparison a little different.
    But you can be young and running good times until you just aren't. You only get to run REALLY fast for a couple years (most of the time)

    I like your videos in spite of the clickbait titles, but this would have hit harder if you hadn't released a video titled "NOBODY knew THIS was even possible?! || These HS kids just INVADED the Olympic Trials!" a few months back where you extolled a bunch of high school age American athletes. I suggest everyone go and rewatch that video because you do the opposite in it, talking about how Bolt was a phenom before he was a champion at senior level. So which side of the fence are you on exactly? Is it only ok to be a HS phenom and get compared to Bolt if you're American? Anyway, who cares if GG is the next Usain Bolt or not? He has captured the world's attention as Gout Gout so give him credit for making people who have no interest in T&F get excited for our sport.

    • @SCATrackandField
      @SCATrackandField  11 днів тому

      Thank you for your comment as well as your perspective. I don’t believe the tone of that video was to compare the American athletes to Bolt in any way. However, I understand your concern about the framing from a title. To clarify, if you are going to be a major player on the world stage, you normally will stand out as a junior athlete. But to become the level of greatness that Bolt did appears to be near impossible for anyone to dream of achieving. If anything what I am saying is there are many talented young athletes who will be competing with each other to win anything going forward. However Gout Gout is one to watch, perhaps even near the top of that list.
      And thank you for continuing to watch in spite of any disagreements with the “marketing” of a video

For example, Elaine Thompson-Herah was virtually invisible at the Jamaican high school championships, achieving absolutely nothing. In fact, she never even made it to a single finals, yet look at what she went on to achieve in her career - the only woman in history to have ever won the sprint double at two consecutive Olympic games as well as recording the second fastest 100M time in history (10.54) (only Flo-jo has ever gone faster, and her time has been clouded in controversy ever since).
