Also, Noah should not run in the 4x4 until he can show us a 44 low in the open 400. I know he wants it for his legacy or whatever but that’s not important to the rest of us. I just want to see the USA take home 4x400 gold. Quincy Hall, Quincy Wilson, Deadmon/Norwood, Michael Norman. Some combination thereof should be the team. Maybe Champion Allison can be in there if healthy.

It’s reasonable to call him the world’s fastest man until and if he loses in the world championships this year (which happens to be the Olympics). The final race in the championships is the only one where everyone will show us their full potential. If people run fast times in their respective Olympic trials or in Kenya at altitude that’s great, but guys like Noah will save their best race for the finals. Until we get to that point, we can only speculate who’s actually the fastest in the world right now. I think Noah should retain the title until someone knocks him off as the champion.

I totally understand what you are saying about the semantics of “worlds fastest man”, however the tendency for track fans to cling to the legacy of Usain Bolt and expect this sport to move forward with any legitimate momentum is unrealistic. Kelly Clarkson daytime TV is one of the biggest mainstream platforms in the market. Did you expect him to go there and say anything other than he expects to be the Olympic champion and remind people he is the reigning world champion? If 4 x 200 was an olympic event, and if he tried to win this instead of 4 x 400, I would be agree that he had a chance to bring 4 Gold Olympics medals, but here I think he can obtain 3 at best. However, to make 45.68 in indoor world championships when you never try seriously in the 400 m is impressive. I don't even know if he trains at all for 400 m. Maybe he is confident because he is better now, and obviously he didn't win in 400 m indoor, but he experiments. Like in the 60 m, he was second against the GOAT of the 60 m, it's very impressive, and it's not even his main event. His versatility is solid. I think he has the American record of the 150, the 200 and even the 300 meters. Fastest man in the world is indeed controversial in 2024, even if he's the fastest in the 200 and the 150 at least. But nobody says he's faster than Usain Bolt. Just in 2023 he was the fastest with Coleman. Bolt don't run anymore, it"s obvious for me to count only athletes in activity. If he wins all Golds in Olympics, he would probably be the fastest in the world in 2024 (I think the winner would have a better time than 9.77).

not true at all. Lol. I was actually noticed through summer track, but get this - it wasn't from JO's or AAU. It was TAAF (I'm from Texas, and TAAF is easier to qualify for compared to JO's and AAU). My college coaches and my summer coach disagreed with my high school coach because he didn't allow me to run my events. You won't believe this - it's very common for colleges to recruit from summer track. I even coached 4 kids who only ran 1 year of high school track and they still received offers. It might be because summer track is a huge deal in Dallas-Fort Worth/Houston, Texas.
