I don't normally upload Garfield related content, but I was curious about this particular episode, an episode intentionally filled with mistakes of every variety!. Let's find out how many there actually are...
I don't own this episode nor any of the clips used!. All rights go to Paws Inc, Jim Davis, 9Story, FilmRoman, and their affiliates.
There were only 3 mistakes in that episode.
My bad.
No There Was 114
Garfield only noted three (3) mistakes in the episode. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any more than that!
Mistake 1: Garfield was not eating
Mistake 2: On the picnic, there was no mustard
Mistake 3: Jon's car had no gas when Garfield was driving it
And at the last second, Odie is replaced with Marmaduke.
You have to admit that the animators had fun with this episode.
They had an off day, per say.
*I'll leave now.*
It sure looks like fun
The animators: 🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵 GOiNg CRaZY
Probably the opposite because they have to make sure they make the mistakes correctly
1:20 This predicted The Garfield Show.
This episode also predicted the Garfield show
@@StopMoPlayer I know that.
Glad you didn’t count the ridiculous amount of food in his backpack as Garfield points out it’s not a mistake
Or the fact that there’s no mustard
This would be an animators nightmare...Or their pride and joy episode. Depends on the kind of person they are.
Yeah!, The writers didn't have to worry about continuity whilst playing around with animating random stuff on screen. This episode was probably very fun to animate!
@@HiddenAcresClipswell to be fair, all animators make mistakes from time to time
But this episode did give them a chance to let loose
I noticed two mistakes that were missed:
1. Jon’s beard disappears when Garfield takes the sheet off of him.
2. Garfield is suddenly outside of the house when he offers Odie a snack.
Another mistake that was missed is the fact the "Rhinoceros" sound they used was actually that of a cow. Look up rhino sounds and you'll understand as to why this is another intentional mistake in the episode.
Garfield's moving mouth became a trend.
It started with the live action movies
you have to wonder how much of the crew knew the gimmick of this episode. the animators obviously knew, but the voice actors could have easily been left in the dark until close to the end of production. even the writers and storyboarders may have come up with this episode without the gimmick and added the cues for the mistakes afterwards on a whim
I like to think the animators knew about the gimmick of the episode and just decided to go wild with not much continuity, this could explain why they added a whole buddy bears scene which couldn't be done on a whim, but I obviously never worked on the show so I wouldn't know!.
0:44 I own the animation cells of Garfield Jon and Odie in this scene
Thats cool
Garfields been a very bad dog lately. I'm gonna teach him a lesson she'll never forget.
Cameo guest star!
0:49 best Garfield error besides the other one. WAIT THIS IS NOT A ERROR
Garfield, the only mistake I notice is your denial of any mistakes in this cartoon.
You forgot 2 extra mistakes: Maraduke’s cameo appearance in absence of Odie and Garfield tells his pal that it’s “10 o’clock! Time for a midnight snack.”
Watch the sequel video to this one where I address that!
1:50 I love how the criminal just ends up naked it always makes me laugh
Well, Odie can speak. He just doesn’t feel like talking. He’s one of those quiet kids in school, but he does talk sometimes he just prefers to not speak
He can’t speak coherently.
@@potsdam28 Or maybe it's like the aliens in Star Wars. I remember he did a Hamlet impression on this show once, and it was just barking.
He thought "I'm hungry" once. He's barked and Garfield has translated as well. But unless we're going by The Garfield Show rules, cats and dogs don't talk. Garfield doesn't even talk in Garfield and Friends.
Which makes this so much more weird.
Edit: Except in this episode once didn't see that part yet
this is the best cartoon episode I've ever seen
3:34 We live we love we garf
1:48 GOOD GRIEF IS NAKED!!!!!
tv-g (u in my area)
Peter: OH MY GOD NO!
Someone finally did it! I've been thinking to myself for 30 years or so now that I wonder how many actual "mistakes" there are. Thank you for this!
I wouldn't call the police using Lorenzo Music's voice being a mistake. Perhaps the policeman was meant to be voiced by him.
2:20 Garfield is still supposed to be inside the tree.
Thanks for pointing that out, after watching the video I noticed a few that I missed including that one!. The total is closer to somewhere around 117-120 but it took me way too long to cut up the video for copyright stuff, I had to reupload it 3 times!.
1:30 i forgot to send nermal to abu Dhabi
Who is Abu Dhabi?
@@jonasgabrielsilva2996 place in the UAE
I can't tell if this episode was made with less effort or more effort than most episodes in this show.
Had to have been more
You forgot the scene when Odie is replaced by a dog resembling Marmaduke and Garfield saying that it's 10:00 AM, time for a midnight snack.
I address that in the sequel to this video
1:44 - frog on the log randomly disappears
amazing video btw! must've taken a while to try to find every mistake in that episode!! that's a lot of intentional mistakes in one episode though...
0:49 And the talking voice is Gregg Berger, who normally does Odie's dog sounds.
0:59 you forgot Jon is wearing boxer shorts
You forgot garfield having odie's body
I would consider that a goofy gag rather than a continuity error or dialogue-based mistake.
Garfield's owner: "JuNe ArBeRkUlE"
If my name isn't JUnE ArBErkLE!
0:37 - Garfield's fish is gone (unless the reason for this was cut out)
0:55 - Jon's wearing shorts instead of pants now
1:45 - Frog just disappears (once again, this could be explained if you just cut out the reason for it not being there anymore)
2:20 - Garfield was in the building, now he's out
3:34 Garfield predicted the Smurf cat meme no way!(joke)
114 mistakes. The animators were on something S T R O N K when making this one.
3:28 Blue Smurf Cat Garfield
Funnily enough I found two mistakes that are actually real errors, lol!.
Between 1:15 and 1:16 check the pinetree in the up-right side that is white in a frame and then green in the next.
And the other one is at 1:45, the frog just disappear from one frame to another. 😂
How can we tell if those are just mistakes or actual errors? Nobody knows!
1:48 apparently he took notes from Jesus lol
Garfield predicted Cinemasins.
3:12 Garfield pulled out the fucking Anywhere Door
The “WOAH, MAN!” When the criminal was naked is killing me
when you put the garfield cd in the microwave
I loved this show when I was a young teen. Btw these mistakes make the episode feel like a fever dream. Lmao
I'm glad someone like you managed to find all the mistakes in that episode.
Most of them*
2:02 "definitely" is spelled wrong
Great video, I actually missed some of the mistakes. But you missed one mistake in the episode itself. The eyeholes go missing again when the sheet lands back on Jon.
Thanks! I got to admit, it's hard finding everything!
0:49 - HE CAN TALK?! 😂
Loved it! Thank you this is exactly what I needed
1:10

*3 seconds later*
M A D E M E L A U G H
Some things I'm not sure can really count as mistakes, like the door appearing in the middle of the woods, since the characters intersct with it. I suppose you could say the mistake is they forgot to draw the house.
There are some mistakes when the Buddy Bears sing:
When Billy says "Each day we do a little dance, and sing a little song", all the buddy bears are shown moving their mouths.
I don't know if it counts as a mistake, but also Billy is shown singing the verse "If you ever disagree, it means that you are wrong" despite Bertie always being the one singing that verse of the song.
0:49 what.
Mistakes being removed shouldn't count as extra mistakes.
They were withdrawn from the total mistake count though.
Certainly managed to count them better than any other user would when this episode first appeared on this site, WITH comments available years back.
3:36 different moon face
Pretty meta episode for the 80s, reminds me of something you'll see on Animaniacs.
Also, Garfield says "Did you hear a rhinoceros?" After a cow sound.
3:44 Cow sound for a rhinoceros
Two mistakes you missed:
1. 1:05 The cop is using a cup on a string instead of a walkie talkie
2. 1:07 The Criminal's mouth movements don't match what he is saying
3:59 if only Garfield could reach the pedals
Never even thought of that!
4:11 is mistake 115 because Friends are there played in a season 3 episode!
What about Odie replace into a random dane dog at the end? That counts 116
HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THAT!
Mistakes will literally happen
1:41 In The Buddy Bears Song Apart Of The Clip One Of The Bear’s Noses Turned Black
0:49 that sounds like Peter Griffin when Odie is speaking
You forgot the mistakes that occurred after Garfield asked how many there were, most notably Garfield saying there were only 3 (and Odie turning into a Great Dane)
I address these in the sequel video to this one
3:28 gumball jumpscare warning
0:49 the signature is actually right below not left
Nice job 👏😂
I'm pretty sure this is what happens whdn you task an AI program to animate garfield
Wow i always thought this episode was a fever dream i had when i was a kid 😭
It's real all right!
0:59 I guess Binky slammed into a citation sad, rip
This episode is just cinemasins/TVsins for dummies.
I’m going to teach him a lesson she’ll never forget
The US Acres crew shows up I didn't see that mentioned
I didn't consider that a mistake, as US Acres cameos appear all the time in Garfield & Friends!
I thought this was the only time they appeared with Garfield/Odie@@HiddenAcresClips
@@nintendonerdsvideos4727 Notable examples include: Moo Cow Mutt, Quack To The Future, Mystery Guest, and Kiddie Korner (Odie).
And there are a lot of times Odie and Garfield visit US acres!
I Garfield, one sent Nermal . There in a box, so he knows their address!
0:16 also the medium steak become rare (the one on the left)
Also the moon changes shape from full to crescent
I never noticed that!
2:40 you forgot scene is upside down
Correct
@@turtlepower4leeyeah
He said "Australia"
@@ADudeWithAChannelyeah
I Think they took "Mistake will Happen" too Literally.
I Think the Animators and Producers went "Eeeeh, FUCK IT! let's Fuck Around and be Creative without Strings Attached for once"!
The police in his car has Garfield's voice
That isn't necessarily a mistake, since we've never seen that officer previously. But that is, indeed, an interesting point!
Lorenzo music voices other characters
Ok bro stop with the ringing you're making my ears ring
Ill stop, just a couple more mistakes to go
There is one you missed, at the very end Odie is replaced by Marmaduke
I've said this in a recent community post, but I've already addressed that in the sequel video to this one
When i was 10 I watched this episode and somehow I didn't notice a single mistake.
You didn't notice ANY of the 3 mistakes from this episode?
@@HiddenAcresClips nah
You forgot to mention some mistakes
0:09 Garfield's head on Odie's body
0:56- Jon has no pants
1:25- a plastic cup is used instead of a speaker
1:54- the criminal wears a bowler hat and a monocle
2:14- there is a room inside the tree
2:19- yeah, you pointed out
2:26- Garfield points out this is not a mistake, he always a carries a lot of food
2:21 - Garfield went out of the cave on the other side of the screen
2:38- Actually the screen is upside down
3:04- multiple hands
3:17- A trap door and a basement
3:23- Garfield said to the criminal, "Let's resume"
3:39- the wolf barks like a dog
3:48- The "Rhinoceros" sounds like a cow
3:50 the blanbket reached jon fro ma miles away
So it's 129 mistakes…(with marmaduke in last scene)… Make that 130 mistakes
I agree 130 mistakes.
Okay now that just hurts
I don’t think there's supposed to be a tin can as a radio mic in a police car, if that counts as a mistake. Also, a cow is heard, but Garfield calls it a rhinoceros.
Plus, if I'm not mistaken, there were at least three more mistakes at the very end of the cartoon when Garfield says, "Come on, boy, it's 10 AM. Time for a midnight snack."
1. I don’t know if there's a midnight snack at 10 AM.
2. There was a big dog following Garfield.
3. The big dog's barking is heard.
I don't know if you wanted to add those mistakes, but I just wanted to throw them out there. I enjoy this cartoon. There's always a possibility that I even missed some.
Thanks for the insight! I may address all these mistakes on a new Comment Crusader video.
This reminds of the Aprils fools episode of iCarly and Victorious
I love this episode, but, when mistakes show up, then go away, is it necessary to count them twice? Also, did you include that picture of Garfield with Odie's body?
1. When a mistake shows up, it going away becomes the mistake, because if it was explained or expanded upon later it would make sense.
2. That picture is from the episode title card, and funny images like that show up on them all the time.
Thanks for the suggestions though!
@@HiddenAcresClips Okay, fair enough.
Mistakes number: Ω
Is That The Xploshi Reference From Guball Fantastic Land? 3:28
Good pun.
how did they let these animation errors slide!!!!!!!???? /j
No errors everything was done on purpose
Its called mistakes will happen for a reason
They've happened
This HAS to be satire.
Of course it is!
@@HiddenAcresClipsphew, was lil worried for a sec 😅
One more: the clapboard lists Davis as the director instead of Hall.
Correction there was 115 counting when Oddie was replaced by Marmaduke I saw that episode
Watch the sequel video to this one, I address that!
@@HiddenAcresClips okay
@@HiddenAcresClips okay I watched it and I see now there were only 3 mistakes
115 if you count Odie turning into a doberman at the end of the actual cartoon.
Addressed that in the sequel to this video
I personally wouldn't call the cop having a voice like Garfield a mistake.
I see that, they have reused voices countless times in the show. However, I don't think they ever use Lorenzo Music to voice any other side characters, but correct me if I'm wrong.
1:45 A frog disappears

What's the song name in the intro?
The music used in the video is listed at the end, at around 4:18
