Do you happen to have the Megajaws Elite Spinning Reel (Black and Purple)? If so, what are your thoughts? I just bought one and am waiting for it to arrive at my doorstep!
@@asharpiesniffer7553 yes they are still working like the day I bought them. Matter of a fact I have bought 2 of their bfs zephyr reels and 2 of the regular zephyr reels. So as of now I own 16 kast king reels. All bait casters
First off, nice fish, secondly, thanks for an honest review and video of real world fishing, not just some guy in the backyard reviewing a setup. I was looking at maybe purchasing a kastking bait caster, so thanks for the video.
I have the Royale legend pro Celestial both spinning and casting combos. They are great to fish with and haven’t had any problems. Also have megatron 6000(spinning) and 200(casting) reels. Kastking is amazing for the price range. Highly recommend
I picked up a 3000 size carbon fiber KastKing Zephyr reel with 22 lbs of drag, 10 2 1 so I had to be aware of how fast I reeled. Overall I am satisfied with how it performed. I have it paired with a St Croix bass mojo medium fast that my adult kids bought me.
I just ran across your video and I am looking into purchasing a KastKing rod and reel combo. After a year now, do you still feel the same about this setup?
I happen to know for a fact the perigee II rod is the best rod for the money in fishing. The royal legend elite series is one of my faves. Zephyr is a decent bfs reel for a beginner😊
hi hello I want to ask I have Kastking Rod Max Steel 198 ML M SPINNING Which Kastking reel should I use? What is the name ? And what size should it be?
I have 4 3000 valiant eagle KK reels paired with their 6'6 Crixus medium fast rods. I'd say from personal experience in the kayak that the tip of those rods seem too fragile for my liking. 1 of the scenarios for sure was understandable, but the second scenario I questioned. Most likely I'll test out another brand. I'd say some of their rods may not be as strongly made, but one has to be careful with fishing rods in general. They are not indestructible.
I like their reels, but not rods. I have the Kastking Megatron 5000, that reel is a beast for such awesome price. I also have the Centron 3000 which I use for freshwater.
The rods I'm not too keen on but all the reels I've bought were spinning reels and I've never really had any issues with them the megatron and centrem reels really they are just rebranded the teben gts and gts 3 reels. The problem with megatron reel is the foot the metal coating flakes off so I just sanded it and painted it black no more issues. But I won't be buying the megatron as I said the teben gts 3 is the same and cheaper I fish almost every week for 24hrs straight saltwater and I never ever had an issue with kastking .reels but I only use spinning reels. As long as you clean them up well oiled.
Most of Kastkings reels are just rebranded Chinese Tsurinoya products. While Kastking likes to say its a US based company, pretty much all they do is rebrand chinese products. As for Tsurinoya (also sold as Sougayilang), they are mixed bag they have some decent reels and some absolute garbage ones.
I wasn't very happy with my kastking reel and rod, i bought the megatron 5000 to be paired with a kasnake mh rod. Terrible cast distance, the reel has a weird gimmick where the bail closes on its own, the guides on the rod are too slow, the power is weaker than a typical medium heavy, and the rod has this lure hook where my line likes to get snagged on mod cast.
Not impressed by Kastking. Bought 1 megatron spinning and 1 baitcast can't remember which one, and after 1 marsh fishing trip without dunking the spinning seized up and the baitcast just felt grainy. So back to lews bc and Shimano spinning. 👊🏼 💯
Best cheap rod on the market is the Ugly stick Gx-2 for $39.000 Best cheap reel is the Daiwa Laguna same price $39.99. See the You Tube on this reel with the review. Kast king wise. You bought a disposable razor grade reel that fails. K king made knock off look alike reels and you can feel right away how cheap and flimsy they are. Gears don't stay in line on K king as the supportive parts to hold gears in line are missing. K King is a young company that uses cheap Chinese material and labor but make look alike reels to major brand names which fools lots of folks because of the price.
@@FishingWithHeath You can hear the reel having issues on the nice red . Cheap reel wise check out the You tube by tackle Advisor regarding the Laguna. Its not a world class reel but where talking $40.00 range
I haven't had any issues either with kastking. I have the kastking zephyr bfs reel on a sougayilang ultralight casting rod.......a China made rod. No problems so far. I have a Kastking Sharky 2 spinning reel that I've had for over two years it's great. It's a 1000 size I use it for trout fishing. It's smooth and has more than enough drag for the big ones . It is on a 6' Ugly stick pro lite. Awesome setup. Again I have 2 ultralight Sougayilang spinning reels for close to 4 years. One is on a Fenwick the other is on a Shakespeare micro. Zero problems with the reels. People buy kastking flouro coated line, braid , and fly line quite a bit. I heard it's just as good and better than much of the stuff out there. If you wanna stick good ol Shimano, Diawa or whatever because it's made in.....well sh$$ it's made in China mostly....lol. The very high end Shimanos may be made in Japan? I could talk forever about this and my mind couldn't be changed about the quality of the "Chinese made " reels. They have have at least 2 times the bearings and quite often twice the drag if not more. My kastking sharky 1000 has 33 pounds of drag. Is that claim true? It could be . I've horsed in big ones with it. No corrosion problems at all. I do grease and oil every now and then, but not like anyone should. Keep buying Shimano or Lews if that makes you feel better. I do have Lews patriot camo reel it's decent, but it gets left behind a lot. I almost forgot about it honestly. 😅
@@davidarwood6264 KK has only been around for a few years and has already rebranded 3 times increasing prices each time. This Company has lied from the get go. want to . Chinese grade wise same company can make .40 cent bearings and $10,000 dollar bearings NASA uses. Drag wise what matter is the line size your using not max drag capacity. its pointless to have 33 lbs of drag on a 1000 size reel .
Kastking you can’t go wrong!
They got some solid stuff for sure!
Owned kingkast for years great rods and reels andnever had problems. And I have run Shimano most of my life until I went to kingkast
I own 10 of their reels. Used them all for almost 2 yrs now and have had no issues. So yeah they are great for the price

What model of glasses are they? I have the covert but those seem to have wider arms. Thanks in advance
Great video! Always wondered about the KastKing rods/reels. Will have to check them out.
YO YO! WINNER WINNER!
3:09 Yea bro I agree, I hold my rod with my left hand and have loosened the reel seat on my diawa that tightens from the bottom
For sure!

Still using them! I caught.a 24inch black drum on it a few days ago.
Would you purchase anymore kastking rods ?… I’m looking to get the 7ft royal advatage
I would!
Picked up the demon elite for my first baitcaster… should have just gotten a curado?
I don't have experience with that one yet!

The rods have held up as long as this video has been live! So I think so!

Kastking Rod Max Steel 198 ML M SPINNING
Which Kastking reel should I use?
What is the name ?
And what size should it be?
Not sure! Sorry I couldn't be of help!
Use sharky iii.
Ya, have a few Kasting baitcast reels… decent reels. Definitely not as good as my Shimano’s but for the price, I’m not sure that they can be beat!
Great reels especially for the price!
Hey my friend, really i like this fishing rod , but I want to make sure that fishing real also is good or not?
I'm still using it to this day!
Anyone know if these can be bought in australia
Some ebay seller have stock in OZ, but more expensive then if you bought from their AliExpress shop.
I don't think so?
Ohhh please please please need this !!! Great video bruh🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thanks for watching man!
Which is better Capung 702 ? Or Kastking Max steel
Man! Not sure. Haven't tried them both yet to compare them.
Just got my fishing kayak last week so hope to catch some fish 🎣
Heck yeah! What model?
What was the balance like

Decent set up!
Great video my brother! Sucks that you broke those rods. At least the speed demon with stood those fishes.
UGH! I know!
They are better than a bamboo pole with a hook, line, and bobber but that's about end on it.
Lol I'd hope so!
Shout out to the only place In the world you can sight cast to the same fish multiple times and still catch him haha
Right!!!!
For me yes because if something happen
