Thanks for the breakdown of the KastKing Spinning Reels. I have been interested in trying one of their reels out for my freshwater and saltwater fishing. I use my gear for both types of fishing as well. Your video was great and helped me out. I'll make sure to use your code when I pick one up. Thanks again!
I have two sharky II baitrunners and have had no problems with either of them. Have caught everything from yellow perch to striped bass and bluefish with the 3000 sized reel and really enjoyed the experience. The 6000 size I have is specifically for salt water Striped Bass and Bluefish. I also have several of the bait casters (Valiant, MegaJaws, Spartacus, legend.....) and have had no problems with any of them. Great reels for the price.
Yes they are for the price. They work and warranty is no problem. Has one issue and was replaced. Will have an update here in a month or so. Thanks for the comment
Kastking is a good brand honestly. Of course it’s not a Shimano, Daiwa, Penn etc, but I have the ReKon 2000 and 3000, and they have had no problem in battling bruiser jacks, reds, and those drag challenging blackfin tuna and king mackerel.
I've been using the sharky III right now for almost a year and accidentally submerged it in salt water multiple times and got it serviced only a couple of times, still it did not fail me and it is still as smooth like brandnew.
Aside from the sharky 3 with its sealing specs, do you think the other models are good for saltwater fishing? I'm worried about corrosion/rusting. I'm new to fishing here. Thanks.
The reel I pick as my favorite out of the 4 is good for saltwater. The Mega Jaws. When it comes to saltwater you need to always rinse really good with freshwater. All reels over time will corrode and fail if not properly maintained. I have 400 dollar reels as well that you need to properly clean and keep oiled and greased or they will fail. The best advice I can give is try not to dunk any reel in saltwater if possible. Rinse every time you use them and spray with a light coating of cleaner/oil.
I personally do not own that reel but I use anything in saltwater. Just rinse it off. Eventually saltwater does affect all reels. But you will be fine for a while.
@muntahpuaka2677 there is no measurements on any reel but when you go to KastKing.com it will give you ounces it weighs and how much line it holds. Use code RJMKKAF and you can get 10 percent off even if on sale.
You take good care of the reel and it's not going to make a difference except smoothness. Clean it, lube it, and if it's a cheapie, it will outperform the elite reels. I have a 34 year old Shimano. Still works as good as it was in 1991. Friend, I hope the "traitor" label they put on you will no longer bother you. I've been called the same. It's your choice, my choice. Let's just enjoy fishing and tune those trolls out. Fish in peace, be happy.

No problem. That is why I do it. I am glad I could help.
It’s a long one but worth watching to truly get my thoughts and opinion.
Appreciate your thoughts and opinions on these Ryan! Thank you!

They have gotten better over the years. And still improving and keeping the cost affordable.

Good to hear. Glad to hear it’s still working
i bought daiwa and kastking reels at the same time, kastking are cheaper but still good after 3 years like my daiwa reels
That is good. Glad they are still working.
Carbon fibre washers should be standard on all reels this day and age its such a little thing to add to improve the quality of even cheaper reels
Yes. I agree.

@Dave_Andre no problem.
Hi sir .. what's your opinion on kastking Megatron? Is it good for saltwater?
I personally do not own that reel but I use anything in saltwater. Just rinse it off. Eventually saltwater does affect all reels. But you will be fine for a while.
