Your work is absolutely amazing. I just thought for starting up with sketching and I came across some UA-cam channels and your channel is professional and easy for beginners. My request is ' Why can't you teach basic easy understandable concept on graphite pencil sketching '. There are lots of pages to teach about graphite pencil sketching but nothing is understandable and ideal. I hope you take my request.

u can but i dont suggest u to since it will make it opaque
You can use negative space or white space of the paper itself to add high lights, if you don't paint around those smaller areas.
