In 2006-2009 I saw Clinton play around Atlanta in various venues and I went to every show I could, even bringing friends and family to see him. Let me tell you, he's amazing, gifted, and sadly perhaps thanks to negativity, no longer playing live. Personally, I'd never seen anyone so talented at such a young age and I've been going to live concerts and collecting records since I was 9 years old (I'm 53 now). His music is MISSED and I hope me makes a comeback.
Proud of this young man and his growth! Best player I know personally and, just a well rounded person start to finish. I do wish the chunked clips were more aligned transition wise - there were a lot of artificial flats that .. well, they're not him! He is one of the cleanest, has one of the most clear attack routes and agendas you'll find outside the comfort zones of a studio.
@sander151187 mistakes?how do u even know. Blues are meant to be played to express yourself and accidentals are a major part of it. Unless of course you already knew what he was 'supposed' to play
Yep, The Mix was Horrible! Sounded nothing like he actually sounds Live - flat at the end of every second or third measure. Too bad he was playing the wrong brand. Important to know your audience! BTW: The acoustic was borrowed at the venue and the song was impromptu: he didn't know it was a 2 tier contest until he arrived. Yea, had to double check Gregg's groove. Nice Red SG, pretty. Acoustically, Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins and/or, Jerry Reed could probably help a bit. Elliot Fisk is my personal fav though - another Boston Local.
although there are some bad notes in there im sure it was mostly nervousness and i do wonder how many of the people leaving negative comments have ever made it far enough in guitar centers king of the blues to go to chicago and play with bb king and john mayer.... just sayin.....
@Dodgibishi Not at all, but SRV got his timing right and his notes sound articulate and 'clear'. Try to listen to some funky John Mayer stuff and then to this.. A world of difference. I do not say he is a bad guitar player, but definitely not the best in this contest.
Most 19 yo's aren't really matured enough on the do's and don'ts of choreography to resolve stage presence issues stemming from a walrus with a camera.
I use tot think this guy was great. Then i realized how many mistakes he made and to many stolen licks and not just stevie ray either. GIve Him about 5 more years he will hopefully have everything down. i still think hes good he just has to brush up
That was due a Lot to the chunking and mixing. Did you notice the diminished dubbing? He doesn't play flat with anything that could be considered "regular".
