Thanks for the tutorial. With your help I was able to improve it so it's flawless. Instead of changing the opacity, change the birthrate. Make sure all particles are dead before the end of the layer though by modifying the "longevity" variable.

When you press ALT+] it cuts to where your playhead is. Maybe your playhead is already at the end of the layer?

If you play around with the hold particle release (for slow particles around 0.4%) on the top cut out layer you can get a pretty much perfect loop.

I added an english keyboard (QWERTY) to Windows. "[" is right next to "P" and "]" comes right after that. That fixed my struggle ;)

Sorry if I'm late man, but I'm pretty sure It's because they changed the shortcut to add layer markers. It used to be the asterisk symbol on your "8" key (SHIFT+8), but now its the asterisk symbol on your num pad. If you don't have a num pad on your keyboard then go to "layer", "markers", "add marker". Hope this helps.

Also, what does "drag it behind the timeline mean"????? so when I drag the timeline the marker doesn't move and "drag it behind the timeline" makes no sense to me as you haven't previously explained any difference between behind and in front of the timeline!!! Ok...so just discovered on the Mac, shift 8 doesn't add the right kind of marker!!! You have to actually right click on the timeline and add a marker that way...!? On the Mac ALT + ] does not cut behind the marker it cuts away anything beyond the current position...

My problem is that i use Snowflakes CC and it goes with another picture, problem is the effect is on the picture so when the opacity changes the whole picture becomes a little bit darker. Anybody here knows how to deal with that?
