This is quite an eye opener, Robert. The truth always has to come out. This story is another example of how the Church has been infiltrated and the true faith is was being suppressed, much to the detriment of the faithful. I have read some of Maria Valtora's work and have always thought it offered great insights but I had always wondered why it was on the list of forbidden books. I never recommended it to anyone because of its forbidden status but now armed with this new revelation I feel i can encourage others to read it. Thank you, Robert.
Fr. Murr, in the U.S.A., was a very experienced... Vaticanista a little after this time (don't think he was there in the 50's); he may have information on the Msgr. Giovanni Pepe that wouldn't be widely known.
These shenanigans remind me of "The Curia" in my home parish. My Da left the PPastoralCouncil as the 4 clergy did all the talking and decision making only having the laity to rubber stamp the order of business. i tried 2 decades later only to be met by another intransient gang. One in particular, "the arch -deacon", bullied anyone who didn't follow his dictate and he was back up by the lay clerics like the "cantor", "the priestess" and the "high priest"........all that is left in the parish is a poor moralistic therapeutic deism.....a dead parish, but still has quite a few corpses attending services, especially funerals. Thank God for Cardinal Newman and my own precious conscience (and good free thinking parents who loved The Faith).
That's the beauty of the Catholic mass.. you can go to a parish you feel comfortable in, and it's still the same worship. Some parishes are stale, but they need prayers to have joy once again.
I think it's also significant that Msgr Carinci who was a confidante of Pius XII and prefect for the congregation of causes of saints used to say mass in her bedroom! Hope they print that book in English soon.

What i have noticed that anyone would be saint if talking or writing in negative manner about Vatican 2 will never get chance to become a saint but anyone who didn't harm reputation of V 2 needs no miracle to be put on the pedestal
I don't care what people say I'm reading in English and polish for 20 years and re-reading and always I find something new Maria Valtorta pray for me
