    That music was brilliant, take me back to then ! Sounds like the Ford symphony orchestra used to get the tapes loved it! Simpler happier times, Corona, Brexit, Facebook, none of it

    The Fiesta Sapphire had the most lavish spec of the three

    I've just purchased my first mk3 Fiesta, an original 1989 model! So before this updated range was introduced (manual choke, not as many buttons on the radio/cassette and defo no airbags ;) ). The mk3 was my favourite Fiesta after the MK1 which we had growing up. I used to sit in the mk3s which were on demo at a summer event local to me as a kid. Loved them. Everyone else's eyes were on the Escort Cabriolet's they'd bring along!
    I think of the three I'd choose the Mistral for those gorgeous wheeltrims... Although the Sapphire has the best name (throwback to the Sierra sedan).
    Thanks for sharing these!

    I like this version of Driven By You done by trumpet and strings. I noticed when these special edition Fords were released into showrooms and advertised on TV, a full length version of this Driven By You orchestral edition was put on free cassettes you could pick up from your Ford dealer. Each Fiesta Special Edition had one of these cassettes put into the stereo radio cassette player free as a thank you from Ford, with their compliments for buying one. Same thing happened when Ford introduced the Mk1 Orion, free tape cassette of The Orion Variations to pick up for free and included as part of your new Ford Orion Mk1 car purchase in the stereo.

    It's now 2024, and I have one of the last 5 Fiesta Equipe rare cars now.. There is thought to be only one Mistral & one Sapphire left on the road.

    The Fiesta is easily the best deal, apart from not having power steering.

      Hi James, do you still have your Fiesta? I've just got a mk3 from 1989. Hardly a first car for me, but my first Fiesta since my family had one when I was a lil'un. I'd be more than happy with a mk3 Fiesta as my first motor. My fav model after the original. The bulletproof Ford Kent engines, designed to be worked on and super cheap all to buy and run.

    £7, 695! The very cheapest you can get a Fiesta now is £12,495. And no, inflation over the last 20 years hasn't been that bad.

    • @Nimmo1492
      @Nimmo1492 4 роки тому

      www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator suggests otherwise.

    • @TheGourmetSnapper
      @TheGourmetSnapper 3 роки тому

      Inflation on £7,695 in 1995 to 2019 would put that price at around £15,000. January 2021 recommended on the road price from £16,640 for a base model. That's not too bad considering the progress that has been made in 25 years.

      I do, amongst over a thousand other files but I don't provide any files due to copyrights I'm afraid.
      You could always play this video from here, if you use mobile broadband in you car or free wifi.

    It's a shame this trio of fiestas didn't come with standard air conditioning for warm weather to give an additional boost of comfort - was never an option either......

    • @sameyers2670
      @sameyers2670 6 років тому +1

      anthony perkins A lot of cars didn't have air conditioning in the mid 90s

    • @anthonyperkins7556
      @anthonyperkins7556 6 років тому

      Sam Eyers would've been nice if this series of fiesta did, it would make for a more comfortable cooler cabin on warmer days over the standard heating / ventilation system.
      Fiestas in Europe and other parts of the world boasted standard air-conditioning, you just pushed the fan knob in to activate it and turn the fan control to vary the airflow and use the heater controls to vary the direction of the air ie screen / footwell / face level vents etc and adjust the temperature.
      Also with the air-con fitted and heater set high in winter, you could demist the front windscreen and front side windows faster.

    • @the.internet
      @the.internet 6 років тому +1

      Air conditioning is for the weak.
      Well that's what I thought til I got a car with Aircon and god damn life's better with it on hot days... But hey, my partner is currently using it miles away and I'm with our second car - a mk3 Fiesta 1989 with the sunroof open, windows down and system up! Because they're supercool and retro, an arm on the window only serves to make you look even cooler than you already are for owning one of these legendary hatchbacks of history. ;)

    • @anthonyperkins7556
      @anthonyperkins7556 6 років тому

      The Internet air conditioning is useful on warm days because it keeps the interior much cooler than the standard heating / ventilation system sucking in heat off the car bonnet, and when you use it with the heater on full in winter set to demist and heat setting, it rapidly demists the windscreen / side windows and warms the interior quickly.
      It does have its uses.
