    Masterpieces are an extension of what our personalities project outwardly in the awesomeness of the beauty of creativity in action! Abstract art brings this to the forefront of our everyday lives in the true beauty of the design and detail of art in motion! You do yourself proud and deserve to have recognition and appreciation for your creativity and dedication to your craft as well as your passion for the craft you create! ❤❤❤

    I grew up in Costa Rica from the time I was 12-21 years of age. In 1968 my parents and I made the trip along the Pan American Highway, all the way from the US to the small port city of Golfito. Our destination was the port of Jimenez on the OSA! I’m am a true child of the jungle and I’m 70 years old now! Beautiful country and geographically stunning place to live!❤❤❤❤

    Nate when first you modeled the techniques and then secondly instructed Conrad it was really very rich in all kinds of instructional content. You explained what you were doing and why. When you were layering the colors, flipping the cup, and then how you had to add more paint to the canvas, how you choose which way to tilt and so on. I will never watch another painting video with just music because this really sets a new standard for making a video for those who want to learn. Thanks

    My favorite line, a dry canvas is a thirsty canvas! So true! And I love this technique and cannot wait to try it. You two were great. I love the way you taught him.

    It was so great for me to see Conrad do his first pour while being instructed. I haven't done a pour yet, still in the video watching stage, but am really looking forward to it. The tips I picked up here will be super helpful. Thanks!❤ Beautiful BTW.

    That was your first one?😮❤❤❤ Omg. Lucky you. You have great talent and a great teacher. Im still getting mostly mudd after trying 4 times...

    • @NateBrightArt
      @NateBrightArt  4 місяці тому

      Hi Vera! I can help with the ‘mud’ issue… first things first, you need a thicker consistency. The thinner the paints are, the more likely the colors are to blend. And try using analogous colors - start with three colors that are close to each other on the color wheel. Once you get results you like, start adding more colors. Any combination of orange, purple or green are more likely to create mud, so try putting a layer of white or black between them.
      But for most techniques, getting the right consistency is the most important detail.
      I hope that helps!

    Conrad, you did a great job! I have yet to be brave enough to do a flip cup because I would knock the cup over, spill paint everywhere even before the flip part, and then end up with an ugly painting because I didn't have enough paint left 😂😂 I actually have a silicone mat that I pour over, let the drips dry completely then I turn them into jewellery. Word of warning though, this hobby is addictive!
    Awesome job, Teach! You will do fantastically at Pour Con. Enjoy!

    I'm still at the first layering part but I had to comment because you made me laugh when Conrad asked how you remembered the layers and you just deadpanned "Uhh, because it's only been a minute?!"
    As much as I did find it funny, as someone new to fluid art I do understand where the question came from. When everything is so new and different sometimes it's the simple things that slip the mind because you're so busy trying to remember all the important things for when it's your turn that you don't really think of something so basic as the order of the colours as important, or that information so simple would slip your mind in under a minute.
    Also, we all have our days where 60 seconds ago is a total blank (even ones that haven't involved any alcohol! 😂) so don't be too hard on yourself, Conrad! 😊

    How are you getting the cells? Did you add something to the paint to make it do that?

    • @NateBrightArt
      @NateBrightArt  6 місяців тому

      Hi Betsey! No special ingredients. It's all about paint densities. The 'metallic' paints have mica in them, which are lighter than the regular tube paints. So if you layer the metallics between non-metallics, the mica wants to rise up through the layers, which is how the cells form. The trick is to get the paints thick enough that the cells hold their shape, but thin enough that they can rise through the layers. It's a little bit of magic and a lot of science. I hope that helps!
