Masterpieces are an extension of what our personalities project outwardly in the awesomeness of the beauty of creativity in action! Abstract art brings this to the forefront of our everyday lives in the true beauty of the design and detail of art in motion! You do yourself proud and deserve to have recognition and appreciation for your creativity and dedication to your craft as well as your passion for the craft you create! ❤❤❤
I grew up in Costa Rica from the time I was 12-21 years of age. In 1968 my parents and I made the trip along the Pan American Highway, all the way from the US to the small port city of Golfito. Our destination was the port of Jimenez on the OSA! I’m am a true child of the jungle and I’m 70 years old now! Beautiful country and geographically stunning place to live!❤❤❤❤
Nate when first you modeled the techniques and then secondly instructed Conrad it was really very rich in all kinds of instructional content. You explained what you were doing and why. When you were layering the colors, flipping the cup, and then how you had to add more paint to the canvas, how you choose which way to tilt and so on. I will never watch another painting video with just music because this really sets a new standard for making a video for those who want to learn. Thanks
I agree with you
Both paintings are just beautiful! Great teaching Nate, Conrad you did amazing.
My favorite line, a dry canvas is a thirsty canvas! So true! And I love this technique and cannot wait to try it. You two were great. I love the way you taught him.
It was so great for me to see Conrad do his first pour while being instructed. I haven't done a pour yet, still in the video watching stage, but am really looking forward to it. The tips I picked up here will be super helpful. Thanks!❤ Beautiful BTW.
Have fun and remember to be fearless!
amazing video!! Thank you Nate to explain the step to your friend Conrad. 👍You are a good teacher and Conrad a good student. 😃 The piece is amazing. It's a success. 💯 Thank you for this collaboration and sharing with us. 🤗💙
I made a pour yesterday that I wanted to be like a candy cane. The red took over, AGAIN... wow. I calmly used several of the techniques that I learned from you, and it looks FABULOUS!!! I can't thank you enough. XOXOXOXOXO
Yes!! all you gotta do is BE FEARLESS!
Beautiful. Enjoyed watching it
Great job gentleman. Beautiful.
I would be happy with either but am partial to the second - reminds me of a starry night!
BOTH ARE BEAUTIFUL !
You go, Conrad!😊 That is beautiful. Of course, Nate.... yours is always perfection. Fun!!
The white drizzle looks like a tadpole. Or a coma. Cool!
Oh honey it's gorgeous, the colors on the first one fantastic with the waves and the motion. Oh man the second one with all the blue and irradesents that's just amazing. Conrad had such a good idea with those colors great job.🎉
Both paintings are Awesome Nate & Conrad 🎉🎉 I love the cosmic appearance of the more blue one😮❤🪐✨

Good job both of you. This is my first time watching you. I love both of them . They are amazing
Thanks so much - and welcome!
I am so glad that you didn't speed up and pu music over the tilting part. I often wonder what artists think about when they are tilting and why they do it a certain way. Thank you so much for a detailed lesson.
That was your first one?😮❤❤❤ Omg. Lucky you. You have great talent and a great teacher. Im still getting mostly mudd after trying 4 times...
Hi Vera! I can help with the ‘mud’ issue… first things first, you need a thicker consistency. The thinner the paints are, the more likely the colors are to blend. And try using analogous colors - start with three colors that are close to each other on the color wheel. Once you get results you like, start adding more colors. Any combination of orange, purple or green are more likely to create mud, so try putting a layer of white or black between them.
But for most techniques, getting the right consistency is the most important detail.
I hope that helps!
Welcome back to Canada! Don’t know when you filmed this but it is June 21 and 30 degrees here NB! Great job to both of you. Love the colours and the difference in the final results!
Gorgeous pours! I put a piece of cardboard on top of my flip cup and then flip it then the cardboard out. Easy Peasy!
The paintings are great! Conrad’s makes me think of Van High’s Starry Night with the use of the dark blue.❤
Informative and useful. I liked the bit about the weight of the paint being in the middle. It was a beautiful and very masculine colour theme
Wow nice paintings! Conrad's is amazing for his first pour!! You are a great teacher Nate. I am on the west coast originally from Thunder Bay, but don't hold that against me!! See you in Vegas
Lässig schöne Farbkombination 👌👏🙏❤️🙋🏼♀️🇨🇭
Both paintings are beautiful but the students painting is my favorite!
The sandwich pour is one of the most underrated techniques! Well done and your teaching method is so easy/breezy and helpful! New sub and fan.
Thanks so much 😊
👋🍀
Gorgeous paintings, guys, both of you! But I missed the part where you said how much Floetrol you used to how much paint? Is it three to one? Thank you so much for the great tutorial, Nate, and great job, Conrad. Love all the blues and grays!
Yeah!!! Canada Canada 🇨🇦
GREAT JOB CONRAD!!!!!❤
Conrad, you did a great job! I have yet to be brave enough to do a flip cup because I would knock the cup over, spill paint everywhere even before the flip part, and then end up with an ugly painting because I didn't have enough paint left 😂😂 I actually have a silicone mat that I pour over, let the drips dry completely then I turn them into jewellery. Word of warning though, this hobby is addictive!
Awesome job, Teach! You will do fantastically at Pour Con. Enjoy!
We’re having a cold spring here in PEI.
Excellent job Conrad have you got the bug to continue painting now
OMGGGGGGG! They’re both pretty but Conrad’s is my favorite !
PS You can also pop the bubbles by lifting the canvas an inch off the table and drop it to the table.
Wow Nate’s is ❤
On y voit une tête d’extra terrestre !
I'm still at the first layering part but I had to comment because you made me laugh when Conrad asked how you remembered the layers and you just deadpanned "Uhh, because it's only been a minute?!"
As much as I did find it funny, as someone new to fluid art I do understand where the question came from. When everything is so new and different sometimes it's the simple things that slip the mind because you're so busy trying to remember all the important things for when it's your turn that you don't really think of something so basic as the order of the colours as important, or that information so simple would slip your mind in under a minute.
Also, we all have our days where 60 seconds ago is a total blank (even ones that haven't involved any alcohol! 😂) so don't be too hard on yourself, Conrad! 😊
Both paintings are amazing, but I prefer your friend's has more pop❤
For me it works better if I flood the canvas b4 flipping cup. Dry canvas seems to spread out slowly and spreads it out too much.
Amazing, both pieces are stunning. Thanks Nate! 🥰
Looks like Vincent Vango wow
Why do you put masking tape on the back? Do you ever pull it off? WOW so beautiful, both of them!!!
Thanks Becky! The masking tape peels right off once the painting is dry, and it leaves a nice clean back that I feel looks more professional. Not everyone does this - just my preference 😊
How are you getting the cells? Did you add something to the paint to make it do that?
Hi Betsey! No special ingredients. It's all about paint densities. The 'metallic' paints have mica in them, which are lighter than the regular tube paints. So if you layer the metallics between non-metallics, the mica wants to rise up through the layers, which is how the cells form. The trick is to get the paints thick enough that the cells hold their shape, but thin enough that they can rise through the layers. It's a little bit of magic and a lot of science. I hope that helps!
Nate you should live in Missouri USA
nice colours wow, can you just give me the recipe, meaning paint with harbritol??? You put water to? 👌🕊️👋
Hi Jocelyn! I mixed my paints 3 parts Floetrol to 1 part paint, and then distilled water to thin. Is that what you mean?
@@NateBrightArt yes, that's what I need, thank you very much, have a good weekend 👌
New Sub here! Totally addicted to liquid art… I’m very new… learning a lot from watching folks like you! ❤️🧡💙🩷💜
