I'm so happy someone said exactly how I feel about my notebooks. If I don't write, paint, draw perfectly, I want to abandon the book altogether. Maybe we need a support group! :-)
I used a traveler's notebook for bullet journaling. One monthly insert, one for my weekly/daily planning, one for braindump/notes, one for collections. Now I'm primarily using the traveler's notebook for creative journaling :)
Are you still bullet journaling? I've started in a bound notebook, but have been flirting with the TN idea with a set up much as you describe. I was thinking a Monthly insert would help with my Future Log problems and a Collections insert for permanent things (birthdays, packing lists, clothing sizes...) would allow them to always be available without rewriting them. What are you currently happy with?
Carol Melancon Yes, I'm still bullet journaling :) I am currently using a 600 pages thick notebook 😂 That way I don't have to start a new one as often 😉 I have the first 150 pages for various collections, then the monthly and daily planning. From the back of the notebook I do my daily journaling. For me it is great to have so many pages, it makes them less precious so I won't be as much of a perfectionist 😊
It was fun to see your enthusiasm for starting a traveler's notebook. They are incredibly versatile and customizable. I have several TN's going. I use one as a daily journal, one as a book journal, one as a health & wellness journal. My main TN is a pocket size and contains a monthly calendar, a weekly/daily planner, one insert for my finances and bills, an order tracker as I do a lot of online shopping, and a notes/list insert. I absolutely love this system. I hope you enjoy your new TN.
Well! For 2 days I have been watching UA-cam videos about Travelers Notebooks, and your is hands-down THE BEST. You moved right along, you spoke clearly and enthusiastically...you made me want to try this. Thank you!
Aww, THANK YOU!! I just posted a more in-depth review of this notebook cover after almost two years of using it so it was so nice to check and see such a kind comment about my first traveler’s notebook video. I’m so glad that you liked it!
Thank you Lauren for your inspiring video. I am so encouraged to start! 11:26... I totally relate! Great idea for adding cards on top of it. Adds variety and looks fun! Thanks again!
I have the EXACT same problem where I start a notebook and 2 pages later don't like how it looks and never want to write in it again... I'm really thinking about starting a notebook similar to this in the summer, mainly just to fill with random things that makes me happy. Lists of things, good memories, places I want to travel, etc. I'm excited.
It sounds nuts, but something that's helped me be less of a perfectionist with my sketchbooks is just being super irreverent with them. Like, when you first get it flip somewhere in the middle and just RIP a page out. Don't do it carefully, tearing a perfectly straight line along the seam. No, tear it out like you're angry at it for insulting your mother. Then, on the first page of the sketchbook, I literally fill it with a grocery list, or random scribbles, or something useless and very much not pretty. It isn't supposed to be a perfectly beautiful thing, it's not supposed to be a source of perfectionist stress. It's a tool, something made to be used. So use it!
You are such a joy to watch! You are so happy and smiley and its amazing that I am so enthralled by this video of you talking about something as simple as paper thickness. I've met you a couple of times at Leaky/Geeky (rip) and you always stood out as someone who was incredibly kind and just lit up the room. You were the very first youtuber I took an interest in, and you were the person who motivated me to make videos of my own! Thanks so much for always being so great!
My favorite of those inserts is the 012. The cardstock doesn't show any ghosting, which is great for me personally. It does work nicely with light watercolor and the pages are perforated. If you don't like it... tear it out! I love that refill.
You are so cute - your enthusiasm & honesty are so refreshing. I've been using traveler's notebooks for years & years and watching you has rekindled my initial excitement with them. I do make really cute traveler's scaled stickers for them that I sell in my Etsy shop trlplansandprints. Maybe I'll send a few samples --see what you have to say. Glad I found you. Excited to see how you get along with it. 😉
+Tanya Lochridge Aw, thank you for your kind words! I've been using it to take notes for work this week and it's fun having a no-pressure space to be creative. I think I'll be more likely to look back at them as well!
ok so i'm weird in the fact that watching one video over and over or listening to one song over and over just calms me down and recently this has been that video, i have watched this countless times now and i'm obsessed but it has inspired me to start my own travelers notebook where i write my story ideas and sketch my characters etc and i am loving it!! Thank you for making such a great video I love all of your stuff it's such a pleasure to watch and incredibly calming too
Aww, thank you so much! I'm really happy that you like it and that it can calm you down. I actually just posted a similar video with a small pocket size traveler's notebook that you might like! ua-cam.com/video/HZr8mwkBfaA/v-deo.html
I'm getting started at using my TN as a bullet journal. But also things like one insert to keep track of my goal to ride every ride, see every attraction and eat at every restaurant at my local theme park 😊. Thanks for your great video!
Mine has 8 of the slip pockets and 1 of them is with the window. Then it has 2 big pockets in the front under those and like a secretary pocket in the back. It's the Prima Traveler's Journal. It came with 2 inserts and I love the feel on one of them that it came with.
I have a knockoff travelers notebook that I've been using as a study journal for school. A monthly planner, a weekly planner, two notebooks for two subjects, and I've been meaning to attach a book to use as a workout log, or to plot out classes and Obstacle courses.
Can't wait to see your watercolor skills.....let it flow! 😉 I am an avid note-taker....books I'm reading....quotes....ideas....I also use grid paper....I like designing spaces & bookcases for fun....& it's a neat way to play tic tac toe when you're waiting with someone. Pilot fone tip is my favorite & I won a giveaway today actually....first one....some gelli pens & sakura... can't wait to try more sketches too. 💗👍
I am the same way about not finishing things! Glad I'm not the only one- I have a graveyard of half used notebooks😣 Since I realized I was super critical I was about to give up on a prayer journal an start over and I felt a little nudge to just complete it. And I did and it felt annoying at first but then after embracing my flaws it felt amazing the end of the book ended up being the best work I've done in years! I made a promise to myself to finish notebooks and projects in general as much as possible. Thanks for sharing I love your videos
So I just picked up my own travellers today to use as a planner and to practice language in. Your vid is both informative and inspirational. Thank you, and keep it up.
I am apart of tons of travelers journal fb groups, they offer such wonderful inspiration. My favorite refills are from yellowpaperhouse on etsy. My favorite journal is from chic sparrow, her journals are beautiful! Enjoy the system!! This year I decided to bullet journal in my moleskine. Now I have 5 moleskines each for different things. Daily journal, planner, lists of things I have or want to do or like, brain dump (that way all my mess ups and random things are in one book, and an art journal. I just started water coloring and I decided to start small and make book marks. I might food my pages in half in my journal and practice there since I enjoy making them. I adore my travelers notebook but I love the size of my moleskine more.
This is so neat! You really inspired me to get one now. I always have several journals started and I love to just put anything in them: from grocery lists to reflections. A travel journal would be perfect to keep them all together! Thanks for the inspiration!
+alrightletsohbooks Ooh, yay! Happy I could help inspire you! I love that you can keep multiple notebooks in it so you can keep your different subjects separate but you can also replace them individually or reorganize them whenever you need to.
I have the same exact issue with making sure my journals/planner looks super nice. However I am trying to get over my OCD and just let the creativity flow! Great video!!!
Lauren! I was watching another one of your videos and this one popped back into my memory - how are you liking your traveler's notebook? I hope you still love it!
Yes! I don't carry it around as much as I'd originally planned to, but I love having a no pressure place to create and I've been having fun doing little hand lettering projects to share on instagram.
Enjoyed your video. So relate. I have bit of perfectionism and overthinking so et all the stuff I need and make everything look pretty but then afraid to start book. Still not sure what inserts work best for me and SO many out there. Over thinking again! Thank you for your video and live your excitement. I get passionate about things and love to then share and talk.... From notebook FB group and Utube, now " passionate" about fountain pens. Jet pens great and Brian and Rachel are awesome with Goulet Pen Co.
Love this video!! i really want to start a travellers notebook but part of me is miffed i didnt do it for all the travels i have been on. would have been amazing to look back on.
+RamblingsofGeo I know, right? I'm in the same boat. I also end up so busy on trips that I rarely even remember to do things like this, but I'm trying!
Great video and perfect for what I needed to hear. I've been bullet journaling in my Leuctthurm 1917 for about 6/7 months and keep hearing about these traveler's journals, and dashboards, and pins, and, and, and, my mind wants them all but have NO idea how to use them haha! Ty!
I just found your channel, and I love watching your videos! You're so happy and adorable that it just makes me smile at how happy you are with your notebook and your pens and washi tape and just stationery in general 🙂
Thank you for this video! I am a journal/stationery hoarder, and this might "force" me to put pens to paper. Speaking of pens, I love the G2s, but I may love the Uniball Signo even more. They come in a retractable version, as well, and even have black ink mixed with a bit of color--so many options!
It's so true about the overwhelming amount of choices and accessories. I just got one myself and it's been amazing. I just decorated some of my inserts and attached string bookmarks with charms! I'm a woman obsessed. A lot of what you say resonates with me. Subbed!
I recently found out that the tombow dual markers can be used for water coloring. I haven't tried it out myself but I saw a UA-cam vid and I liked the effect that you can get with them. They won't completely give you the look of a watercolor palette but it's something you can give a try without much fuss and mess. All you will need are a few of your new markers and your watercolor brush. Have fun trying out all your new goodies. And in regards to how I use my notebooks, I'm all over the place with them. Lol. Jess :)
+Celeste Molina The one on my wall? I bought it at a craft store and I'm not much of a woodworker, but maybe I can come up with a different way to store thread that's more in my wheelhouse.
This is great! I usually walk around with both my bullet journal and sketch book and I hadn't ever heard of a traveler's notebook. Definitely going to do that next time Love this video!
This style of recording and playing is so addictive, honestly I love that you picked a faux leather cover with pockets. Have spent a little $ on fancy leather covers and then just used some leather I had to make a simple cover and have put the others aside. I make my own inserts now out of plain paper and mixed media carson brand paper when I can get it 50% off at Michaels for wet projects. There is no right or wrong way to do it so have tons of fun. Can't wait to see new plushies arise from the pages!
Your doodles are so adorable! And your handwriting is gorgeous! I bought my first traveler's notebook from FoxyFix but I love that yours has the pockets and pen holders on the inside. And the Pilot G2 .05 is my all-time favorite pen as well! Please make more videos like this! I get so excited seeing other people's notebooks and planners! 😍
Hi, thank you for your great video! I just started using a travel journal too! Part of mine is calendar and to do list related. I'm in treatment for cancer and my chemo makes me a bit dingy. I forget stuff if I don't write it down. Most of the inserts I have received are stapled together. Since I like to use watercolor, paint pens, pastels...etc, I like to test the paper with a couple of sheets. So, I gently lift the staples, take a few pages out from the middle, tighten back up the staples, and test all the markers, paints, and other media on the paper I lifted out. That way I know how the paper in my book will react and I don't mess up my books. Sometimes I remove the staples and just have the book strapped in with elastic. That way if I screw up a page, it's easy to remove it and keep using the book. If I want to keep part of the page I just cut out that part and glue it to another page. I restaple or stitch the book back together when I complete one so I can store it. Much love, and happy wishes for your projects. Kind regards, Chris
Lauren Fairweather It's my pleasure! I forgot to mention that decorating the cover of the book is much easier when the staples are out and you can lay it flat on your work table. You can get all messy with it and still not ruin the pages. 😊 Hugs!
Hi Lauren! Nice to know I'm not the only crazy chic out there with issues about messing up a nice note book. Also I have more pens than I would need in a life time, but just keep collecting more. Kind of crazy, I know, but I just have a lot of fun with it!
Just a thought on when you don't like how a page or spread turnes out, just gesso over it and paint another picture or glue a picture that you do like or inspires you. I get old magazines from my library.
I love this kind of stuff. Great video. Seriously, JetPens is the dopest. That Signo white pen is the best on the market as far as I'm concerned. I've used it for many years. Looks beautiful on brown craft paper... or anything darker really. Have fun, Lauren!
+AlleyBetwixt I was so happy with the stuff they sent me! I'm already thinking about what to buy from them next. They were also so nice and helpful! That little handwritten note made me so happy too. I'm glad I got the right white pen! I love it so far.
This is so coincidental! I am currently making my own travelers journal ala SeaLemon. But I would much rather machine sew my inserts!!! Thank you for the tip
love the video! I'm planning my own travellers notebook adventure as we speak. Any chance you could do an update on your travel notebook journey/progress?? :)
Hi Lauren. This is my first time watching a video of yours, and I love your excitement about the products you're sharing and the direction you may be going in using them. Jet Pens sent you a really nice package to try out. I am pretty new to Traveler's notebooks and bullet journaling. I am still trying to decide how to use TN's and whether that will work for me or not. As far as bullet journaling, I have that on hold a bit until I decide where I am going with the TN's. It will be interesting to see how your journey evolves with all of this. TFS.
Lauren, your are the sweetest person.... I adore your video's I just subscribed a couple weeks ago and I went on a watch marathon of videos. Your bubbly personality makes a bad day good love love your idea's... and the travelers notebooks are great I make my own because I love to use textiles and sew.. plus just started to make charms to attach to them to... so thank you again for the great idea's and I think I have made so many I might have to either donate or open a Etsy shop.... good luck and keep the videos coming I look forward to them...
I'm so exited about you becoming a midori freak too! I can't wait to see what you'll do with your beautiful notebook :) I've used midori system for about three years now. I love it so much! I've used two sizes (regular and fild note size) and tried out many different journalling and sketching ideas. Now I use my midori mainly as a planer. I make all my covers and refills by myself ;)
Have a look at Jetpens Uni style fit pens (I says those as their multi pen shells are the cheapest), they come in 5/4 & 3 multi pen shells and singles. I got the complete set of Gel colors because they are more archival proof and come in 16 colors, of which I bought the slim pen set, plus you can put a pencil in a space of a multi pen. I decided as a birthday gift to myself, I would splurge and get three 5 space pens cases so I could take all my Gel colors everywhere with me. If I am pushed for space or weight I can revert back to single color pens. Their multi pens are an amazing concept. If you live in America, your freight is minimal. I have a swag of pens and pencils like most crafters but they are never with me when I want them. So now I can load up 14 colors in my three pen shells, plus have a pencil and eraser with me and get cracking at practici g my zentangling and doodling, as well as putting my customary black pen in my purse. I know it is a real splurge but sometimes we just got to spoil ourselves. Now I am trying to work through putting my Travel Notebook together. I have lots of Drs appointments so it will give me something to do in all the wasted time spent in waiting rooms. We just need to chill, not over do the thinking part and enjoy. If we stuff up, so what! It isn't like we are going to publish our TN'!s. They are personal, for ourselves. Have fun.
I've heard that some people use (pretty or plain, either looks super nice) sticky notes or washi tape to cover up mistakes or add more space on a page haha
Hey I love your energy and you described everything so well for a newbie to MTN. Doesn't look like this is a stationery channel so can't subscribe but girl I just wanted to tell you that I loved this video!
+Lola Karwowski Aw, thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to leave such a nice comment! I make a pretty wide variety of creative videos and I've got a couple more stationery ones lined up to work on now that I've started writing in my MTN if you're interested.
I'll definitely be looking into these! I do short stories, poetry and drawing so this idea seems perfect for keeping everything in one place for me. Have you tried the Papermate InkJoy pens? They're pretty standard writing pens in size and style but they come in a bunch of really fun, bold colors that actually stand out when you write. They're also quite cheap (I think I found my pack of 12 at Target for around $4 in a Back to School sale last year) and they feel really smooth and comfortable to use. They don't have the "roll a white cat over them" no-smudge promise the commercials try to sell you, but they DO have pretty good staying power compared to a lot of other pens, haha.
+Amber Lin Yes! There are links to everything in the video description. Mine is the Webster's Pages Traveler's Notebook Cover: go.magik.ly/ml/5i7e/ (not the exact color, I've found that some colors are easier to find than others but you can look online to see what's available if you don't like the ones on that site)
so glad I watched this, I just bought a traveler's notebook and was looking for ideas on how to use it, so not only did I find that but you are just so fucking adorable haha
I have really been wanting to get one! Thanks for the video! The one I want to get is from Pelle Studio,,, but bc I personalized it and wanted to get a5 it turned out kind of expensive!
Love this video and your style/personality, so I subscribed! Do you have a video about your travel journal content? I would like to improve my handwriting and drawings to look as cute as yours, but I don't really know where to start! Thanks! ^_^
I never thought of a sketchbook as a... thing, something to be looked at as a whole. To me it's just a collection of things, a way to not have a million little pieces of paper everywhere. But I use sketchbooks for drawing until I have to scan the pages and remember why I'd stopped T__T That's mainly why I prefer loose paper. Also spiral notebooks you can put in the scanner without having to cut out the pages, but those are a bit more uncomfortable outside a desk (I draw a lot while waiting in lines).
I am so sorry for all the comments but I'm watching it as I comment. Can you get those inserts at walmart? If not where can I get them? I also need a pack of bands because two of mine broke and I just tied them back together.
+Niki Reynolds I posted links to everything I mentioned in the description box below the video if you're having trouble finding them! I didn't get mine at Walmart so you'd have to check.
My friend gave me a beautiful journal with Wes Anderson pictures and quotes all over it and I love it, but my handwriting annoys me so much cos it's nowhere near pretty enough for such a journal. How long did it take you/how did you learn to write like that?
Hi Lauren!! I love the idea of a traveler's journal, it sounds to fun and perfect, and I like to think I have the same sort of crafting spirit like you :) but I have a question. How do you keep a journal? I know that sounds silly, but I have tried several times to keep a journal and I have never been able to do it, because at some point I simply forget about the journal. Is it something that comes easy with age? I am 15 and have ADHD, so I feel having a way to express my ideas on a page instead of out loud is right up my alley. But anyway, I was just wondering if there is a method to keeping a journal, or if you had any tips and tricks :)
Hello Angelica. I hope you don’t mind me making a suggestion. Perhaps you could start by setting a time each day for journalling. Bedtime is often a good starting time. You could take a cup of herbal tea to your room and spend some time writing, drawing, or decorating a page. The time spent could be as long or short as you like: the important thing is to do it each night before you retire for the day. An added benefit is that this quiet time will also set you up for a good night’s sleep. Hope this helps.
So the brush tip water pens, can you use them for anything if you can't draw at all. Not even a stick figure? I wish I would have done more research but I always jump at the first thing I see and then find something better that I would rather have had. You kind of sound like me. It's hard for me to write in my journals because I don't want to mess them up and I can't scratch anything out, it drives me crazy and I used white out and I just rather not mess up. LOL. I have OCD and that makes it worse. Unless it's something major, I have a hard time choosing things, I'm very indecisive and I HATE it.
+Niki Reynolds Sure! One thing I like to do with them is just make a big blob shape of watercolor, let it dry, then write over it with black pen or marker (so it makes a cool background).
I need to find out about these water pens. I've seen where someone has put paint on the pages and just kind of smeared it on and then wrote in it and thought it looked good.
Anybody know if you can replace the main elastic that keeps the notebook closed? I'm looking into getting one of these, but I have a Kindle cover that's similar and after a while of using it, the elastic really lost its stretch.
+adrienie Yup! It's just a doubled elastic with the loop end pushed through a single hole along the spine of the cover. You can either untie the elastic or cut it off and replace it with a new one.
I have about 15 Planners and didn't think I would like the Traveler's notebook and I got it and it's my favorite one but the only thing is the one I have the notebooks peek out of the sides and back and I HATE that. So what brand is your favorite for the traveler's notebooks? Also mine only has 2 strings in the middle and I've been watching videos and wish it had 4. I think I seen where someone added some but I don't see how that would work and not look funny.
+Niki Reynolds The one I showed in the video is the Webster's Pages traveler's notebook cover, the notebook refills don't stick out, and it has four elastic bands in the binding.
I bought the champagne one and it's too stiff and one of the bands broke really easy. I LOVE my Heidi Swapp one if the notebooks just didn't stick out. because it's soft and supple. It has two bands and comes with 2 notebooks and I have them both in there but one band is shorter than the other just a little bit so now I am questioning if I'm suppose to put the other journal in there.
Thanks for replying back. So I have finished buying all my journals/planners for the year. I'm getting use to the Champagne Traveler's Notebook so I'm going with that one. I also have the Heidi Swapp one and I emailed her/them and someone emailed me back one time and said it was because I had two notebooks in it and that is why it hangs out and I said well then why do they have two bands and I don't like the way it feels with just one notebook and she never emailed me back after that because she knows they are not suppose to stick out. So I got those two and I got the Heidi Swapp Personal Planner that is black and gold and says "Life Is Good" and I got the Large Heidi Swapp 12 Month Planner that says "Love Today" these are black and gold and white she went with that theme and I really like it. Where you add your days/numbers is usually a blush color in all of her planners but these are Gray and that's my favorite color and I have Washi that matches it. I talk too much, I use to be shy and not talk. Then I bought another planner, wasn't going to but I was looking at the inside of the Cosmopolitan Traveler's Notebook and it is Ivory White and fell in love. I have no idea why but now I'm obsessed with white and I usually don't really like that color so I went and bought an A5 White Ivory Recollections Planner and accessories. They have the coolest folders but I can't find them and don't even know what their called. I sit here and say out loud "STOP" WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. I have OCD & other disorders and a Shopping Problem and when I get set on something there's no stopping me because I know that I could go to Walmart or even the Dollar Tree and buy notebooks, planners and comp books and just write and decorate on them but I don't want to do that. I almost fell for the new Heidi Swapp Composition Planner that is $34.99 and the Comp books that go in them are 8 & 9 dollars and I watched a video where someone put a .99 cent comp book in one and it fit perfectly so she saved me from buying that one. They always get me with the words and the name of things. And I know it's stupid but can't help it. I went crazy when I found out about The Happy Planner and bought everything: different colored discs, ink pens, notebook paper, folders, dividers, tabs, covers and more so I could make my own book, not a calendar just whatever I wanted in it. I even bought a new printer and I bought a laminator thinking I was going to print out all kinds of stuff and laminate it and punch it with my Happy Planner Punch and add it to the book I was going to make and I didn't do it, I kind of did but not like what I had in my mind. I love the concept of ripping a piece of paper out of your notebook and putting it back in, to me that is one of the most genius things ever. I have nothing to plan because I never leave my house unless I have a doctor's appointment so I just decorate it and write stuff like a diary and put quotes in it, at first I felt bad because that's just wasting money but I had to tell myself "its your book write or do whatever you want" Who cares what people think. I Collect Journals and planners, that's no different than someone collecting other things like they do OMG, I wrote too much, what is wrong with me?
I meant to ask you if you can use any kind of bands and is it better to use the refills that go with it? I seen people making their own and I have TONS of scrapbook paper and nothing to use it for but I could use it for making my own inserts. I seen where one girl bought a pack of bands but don't know where she got them.
Wow.... It feels like I found my twinsoul! Hahaha okay that sounds seriously creepy but I so so soooo relate to your creativity! Same here! Just now happily subscribed to your channel!! Lots of love from Amsterdam!
+Kallerhult Creations That's awesome! I think mine will be mostly creative journaling too, since I tend to organize my tasks and schedule digitally.
LOVE the fact that you made an insert to see if it's what you like, without it costing you anything...way smart!
she looks so excited its making me excited for her
It was fun to see your enthusiasm for starting a traveler's notebook.
I use a traveler's notebook that I made myself to document my craft fairs! It's so much fun!
+ashgo86 I love that idea!
I can't stop watching you and Jennifer!
Thank you Lauren for your inspiring video. I am so encouraged to start! 11:26... I totally relate! Great idea for adding cards on top of it. Adds variety and looks fun! Thanks again!
+Andrea Himmo I'm so happy to hear that! Thanks for watching. 💕
I have the EXACT same problem where I start a notebook and 2 pages later don't like how it looks and never want to write in it again... I'm really thinking about starting a notebook similar to this in the summer, mainly just to fill with random things that makes me happy. It isn't supposed to be a perfectly beautiful thing, it's not supposed to be a source of perfectionist stress. It's a tool, something made to be used. So use it!

This is the first I'm hearing about Traveller's Notebooks! Sounds totally up my alley and I can't wait to explore.
My favorite of those inserts is the 012. The cardstock doesn't show any ghosting, which is great for me personally. It does work nicely with light watercolor and the pages are perforated. If you don't like it... tear it out! I love that refill.
Awesome information. I just got mine at Michaels yesterday. Your book is beautiful. Don't be so critical of your work. It's great.
I’m making travelers notebooks from old books. Getting ready to open a new Etsy store! Love your videos!
That's such a great concept! Wishing you luck with your Etsy shop!
Lauren Fairweather - I’m also a long time Harry Potter fan - you gave me the idea to make a Harry Potter themed one!
I love ur energy
Love your energy
Aww, thank you! :)
ok so i'm weird in the fact that watching one video over and over or listening to one song over and over just calms me down and recently this has been that video, i have watched this countless times now and i'm obsessed
but it has inspired me to start my own travelers notebook where i write my story ideas and sketch my characters etc and i am loving it!!
Thank you for making such a great video I love all of your stuff it's such a pleasure to watch and incredibly calming too
Aww, thank you so much! I'm really happy that you like it and that it can calm you down. I actually just posted a similar video with a small pocket size traveler's notebook that you might like! ua-cam.com/video/HZr8mwkBfaA/v-deo.html
ah perfect!! will go check it out now! :D
thanks again for making such wonderful content :D hope you are having a great day!
You are awesome. I love your energy!
Aw, thank you so much!
That's it! I am making my own inserts! :)
I haven’t made very many, but it’s fun! I’ve been thinking about putting together one with a bunch of different kinds of paper mixed up.
Can't wait to see your watercolor skills.....let it flow! 😉
I am an avid note-taker....books I'm reading....quotes....ideas....I also use grid paper....I like designing spaces & bookcases for fun....& it's a neat way to play tic tac toe when you're waiting with someone.
Thanks for sharing I love your videos
i love this video. it's simple and very informative for a beginner like me.
I'm happy that you liked it! Thanks for leaving such a nice comment.
Yes, you are right. Everytime start a new insert. I love to make my own Inserts. You are so refreshing, this is my first video i see of you
Thank you! It's so helpful with figuring out sizes and things like that. I eventually ended up making a DIY tutorial for a passport size insert!
So I just picked up my own travellers today to use as a planner and to practice language in. Your vid is both informative and inspirational. Thank you, and keep it up.
I love your personality, girl! Can't wait for more videos!!
+Artsygirl555 Aww, thank you!
+Lady McCrystal Ooh, I'll have to look around on Facebook too! Thanks for the recommendations... the Chic Sparrow covers are gorgeous!
Lauren Fairweather You are so very Welcome! I have 3 travelers I adore but don't use. Along with a few other planners. I tend to rotate.
I love your personality so much!!! definitely subscribing!!
+Mr Castiella Aw, thank you!! That's so nice of you to say.
Lauren Fairweather I made one when i was a kid for a trip to Japan. it was an amazing scrapbook, unfortunately i have no idea where is gone :(
This is so cool!!! I have been thinking about doing a journal so this was helpful!!!
+J Ballinger Aw, yay! I'm glad I could help!
+Random Dinosaur Aww, thank you!! 😊
Thank you for this video! I am a journal/stationery hoarder, and this might "force" me to put pens to paper. Speaking of pens, I love the G2s, but I may love the Uniball Signo even more. They come in a retractable version, as well, and even have black ink mixed with a bit of color--so many options!
This is so awesome I wish I could stick to something like this
It's so true about the overwhelming amount of choices and accessories. I just got one myself and it's been amazing. I just decorated some of my inserts and attached string bookmarks with charms! I'm a woman obsessed. A lot of what you say resonates with me. Subbed!
One of the videos I first watched when I wanted to get a traveler’s notebook was yours. Glad I did. I love all mine❤️
Aww, yay! I’m happy I helped! I’ve been writing in mine every day and I am so glad I got into them.
@@LaurenFairwx they make me so happy and I've been journaling and planning a lot. They're amazing. Pen and paper writing is inspirational
Lol. Jess :)
I'm waiting for mine to arrive in the post. I'm keeping myself sane while I wait by watching Midori reviews. Yours is one of my favourites :)
hello Lauren can you do a tutorial on the thread holder? I love it. and I wish to see that bullet journal too
+Celeste Molina The one on my wall? I bought it at a craft store and I'm not much of a woodworker, but maybe I can come up with a different way to store thread that's more in my wheelhouse.
I can't wait to see it then. Thanks
This is great! I usually walk around with both my bullet journal and sketch book and I hadn't ever heard of a traveler's notebook. Definitely going to do that next time
Love this video!
Can't wait to see new plushies arise from the pages!
love it
I love this idea so much!! I'm definitely looking into getting one now...😊
+Red Panda Isn't it fun when you find out about something and it feels like it's designed for you? That's how this was for me.
And also, Tombow pens are amazing!! They have very vibrant colors and are perfect for hand lettering.
+Christine Wallace Ooh, those are some really good ideas! Thank you for sharing them with me.
I get old magazines from my library.
the amount of times that I said to my self "girl same" is way to high
I love this video you are so wonderful
+katiekatcurious Thank you so much!! I'm happy to hear that I'm not alone.
This helped me so much!
Yay! I’m so happy I could help.
Ahh! Love your doodles and everything. "I just picked a brown one" made me laugh out loud. Yay for getting on a traveler's Notebook kick!!!
I really liked this video ❤️
Aw, thank you!
Lauren Fairweather you're welcome :) ❤️
This is so coincidental! I am currently making my own travelers journal ala SeaLemon. But I would much rather machine sew my inserts!!! Thank you for the tip
you are just adorable! love your channel
love the video!
TFS.
Thanks for the information.
Jetpens is my happy place xD Loved your video! I'm REALLY excited about those dual brush pens w a fine liner! I did not know such a thing existed o.0
Aw, thank you!!
I can't wait to see what you'll do with your beautiful notebook :)
I've used midori system for about three years now. I love it so much! I've used two sizes (regular and fild note size) and tried out many different journalling and sketching ideas. Now I use my midori mainly as a planer. I make all my covers and refills by myself ;)
Wow. You actually described me.
Have fun.
I’m experiencing the same joy about the TN right now! I guess I’m late to the game, but better late than never!
!! heres a tip for when you mess up on art, use post it notes!! they add a pop of colour to your art and they ovr up your mistakes really well!!
I love your video so MUCH and also I can relate to you on a spiritual level hahaha
+TianaJanelle I have the ball point inkjoy pens for when I need a ball point (carbon paper, customs forms, etc) but I haven't tried the gel pens yet!
Hi :). Do you have a link to the bullet journal you bought?
+Amber Lin Yes! There are links to everything in the video description. Mine is the Webster's Pages Traveler's Notebook Cover: go.magik.ly/ml/5i7e/ (not the exact color, I've found that some colors are easier to find than others but you can look online to see what's available if you don't like the ones on that site)
Lauren Fairweather thanks! I see it now in description box 😂.
Wow I didn't think GellyRolls were still around. Oh man talk about nostalgia.
Love the Webster's Pages TNs - just bought the tan one from JoAnns at 50% off. Nice video.
You have great vibes :)
so glad I watched this, I just bought a traveler's notebook and was looking for ideas on how to use it, so not only did I find that but you are just so fucking adorable haha
Haha aww, thank you!!
Michael's Recollections brand has some great inserts for an even greater price!
+Baylee Ryanne Ooh I'll have to check them out!
I am glad there is someone else out there that shares my utter enthusiasm for everything notebook/stationary related! #newsubscriber
I have really been wanting to get one! Thanks for the video! The one I want to get is from Pelle Studio,,, but bc I personalized it and wanted to get a5 it turned out kind of expensive!
You should also check out Yellow Paper House for colorful inserts and different types of papers and dot, line, grid, etc
This has been very helpful and you are adorable! Subscribing now!!
+Kristin Schultz Aww, yay! Happy to help!
Kristin Schultz o
Is it true the webters pages have personal size travelers Notebooks? I know they carry stander size but now added personal size!
Oh, how exciting! It sounds like you know better than I do. When I bought this one, it was the only TN size available.
Just came across your channel while looking for planner inspiration... this video was awesome and you are a joy! New subbie for sure 😊
+It's Nanna's Place Aww, thank you so much! 💕
Olá
Você ensina fazer a capa desse traveler notebook?
🌻💕
OMG, love it, I need one of those :3
OMG, I LOOOOOOOVE #JetPens!!! Lucky you. I was thinking of doing my first video using all their stuff. Enjoy! Also, great video, I’m a new Sub!
Looking back on this video from the past, how has your search changed and was this notebook system a success for you?
Anybody know if you can replace the main elastic that keeps the notebook closed? I'm looking into getting one of these, but I have a Kindle cover that's similar and after a while of using it, the elastic really lost its stretch.
+adrienie Yup! It's just a doubled elastic with the loop end pushed through a single hole along the spine of the cover. You can either untie the elastic or cut it off and replace it with a new one.
Oh super! Sustainable. Thanks, Lauren!
I Collect Journals and planners, that's no different than someone collecting other things like they do
OMG, I wrote too much, what is wrong with me?
I meant to ask you if you can use any kind of bands and is it better to use the refills that go with it? I seen people making their own and I have TONS of scrapbook paper and nothing to use it for but I could use it for making my own inserts. I seen where one girl bought a pack of bands but don't know where she got them.
Wow.... It feels like I found my twinsoul! Hahaha okay that sounds seriously creepy but I so so soooo relate to your creativity! Same here! Just now happily subscribed to your channel!!
Lots of love from Amsterdam!
Aw, thank you! I'm glad to know I'm not alone in my excitement over this stuff. 💕
