You always give perfect, easy to follow instructions in all of your tutorials on UA-cam. I feel confident that I can follow along and create this Sierras Beanie hat. Thank you so much! I love your Just Peachy hat tutorial as well!
The written pattern for this from the KB website says that to create a larger or smaller size (I'm going smaller) to cast on in multiples of 10. In my case, I'm casting on 60. HOWEVER... the chevron pattern works in multiples of 8... so when I would get to the last grouping, there's only 4 pegs left instead of 8 (because round 4 is k3, p1, k1,p1,k2), so I would only get halfway through the pattern the last time around. Shouldn't I be casting on in groups of 8, not 10? Thank you!
Hi! First I'd like to say thank you very much for making this tutorial make so easy and understood. Not only, you not skipping your video. you put pattern as well for us to follow. And that was really great. I'd would like to ask a big request if don't mind. Can you teach us how to make a bit wide headband with the breaded on the top? I saw it on the KB wood loom design. Thank you very much. Please
Nicole Ingram I’ve always been told that if your pattern ends in purl stitches to do the extra peg as a purl. If the pattern ends in a knit stitch then knit.
That's with large gauge. This loom is small gauge, meaning the pegs are much closer together and pegs are smaller. This will give you a tighter, smaller stitch, which is great for this chevron stitch pattern.
Honestly your best bet is to go the size down from this set of looms. If you have worsted weight yarn, use KB's 72 peg loom with the 3/8" gauge. If you are using thicker yarn and using a 5/8" gauge loom use a 36 peg loom to fit an 8 year old. I hope this helps!
The loom has that many pegs to work with worsted weight yarn. It's a 3/8" of a gauge between pegs instead of a regular 5/8" that works best with thicker yarn. This way if you use worsted weight, you need less material.
The smaller gauge looms actually take the finer yarn and can do more detailed stitches than large gauge and the finished pieces look better done than the large gauge looms. Typically it's more experienced knitters that use the fine gauge looms.

I agree Ms Maria Hernandez and it's very simplistic to follow thanks kb
Thank you for this pattern, it’s wonderful!🙂
Would this look good using a varigated yarn?
I’m learning. Wonder how stitch markers are placed on pegs after hat is started
you can makes the Chevron stitch pattern up sock loom ?

So Cute!
Hola amiga, pues mi telar circular es de 41 y quisiera me digas ¿cómo lo hago?? Me ha fascinado y quiero hacerlo!! Saludos de República Dominicana!!
Question when you knit stitch to end of round, you loop yarn to front of peg rather than behind as in e wrap?
For it to come out looking like the photo it needs a 3/8" gauge.
The orange loom- 80 pegs is 3/8" gage.

Hello, I really love this stitch and want to try it out, however, I do not have the same loom you are using. Can I make this on a 36 peg loom?
Can we do it with the 36 one Pls reply
@@zarahmujeeb8954 u can do this 0n 36 peg loom. 8x4=36, So your 8 stitches will repeat 4 times in each round.
@@yunusmshariff ok thank you 😊
What if your looms have odd numbers? I'm making a smaller hat with a 31 peg loom..
Nicole Ingram I’ve always been told that if your pattern ends in purl stitches to do the extra peg as a purl. If the pattern ends in a knit stitch then knit.
I just want to verify can I use a AIO hat loom with all 80 pegs
I saw the comment below, they said yes.
Can you use the adjustable hat loom with 80 pegs?
Yes definitely.
Thank you!
Why the 80 peg? When I make adult hats I always use the 36 peg loom.
That's with large gauge. This loom is small gauge, meaning the pegs are much closer together and pegs are smaller. This will give you a tighter, smaller stitch, which is great for this chevron stitch pattern.
Right but I don’t have that loom.
I use a 41 peg loom for adult hats
Do u think 5/8 would work on pattern?
With 80 pegs, 5/8" gauge would need thicker yarn, and the finished knit will have a different look than the photo, it will look chunky.
How would you adjust sizing for an 8 year old?

How many pegs have the loom?
80 pegs odd peg loom
Where can I buy a look like that
Amazon, local craft stores if you're in the us-canada, I got mine from ebay.
Can you do this hat on a kb alk in one kb 18" loom plz and how many stitches to cast on for a 3 year old and children plz x
Yes this can be knit on the All-n-One Loom.
Will this work on a regular gauge round loom?
??
Can you please just say the number of the yarn like #2, #3 or #4 instead of "worsted weight"? It's too vague for a beginner like me.
Why the starter point and end point of peg has weird gap all the way edge vertical? I’m annoyed by with this look in the back or behind?
this is not the chevron stitch look at the blanket and thats the chevron stitch wow

I wish you would not speed up the video
Too fast for a beginner!!!
Jennifer June you could use the UA-cam setting and use their speed as slow down. They have that. Just a thought. ;)
@@pmg1180 Duh. Thank you
Jennifer June haha. No problem. :)
Didnt like because that loom has way too many pegs that are not really needed for a project, also the yarn is too thin for a hat.
