Single Action, Double Action or Semi-Auto: As long as you hit what you aim at it doesn't make any difference. I happen to be a fan of the Ruger Single Six's in various calibers. Keep up the good work and enjoy your Ruger!!!
Black powder guns have been killing people longer than modern firearms anyway. I carry a SAA cap and ball daily, and I can promise that I can hit what I shoot. I haven’t self defense trained with it yet, but I’m a decent shot. I can hit on or very close to bullseye about 30 feet away.
@@TreforGordon I’ve always said, “Some gun” is better than “none” gun, eh? I have a New Police .36 that’s tidy and appealing and it’d make a great carry gun! Roy
I wish I had that kind of pull with Mitch Rosen. I love his products. I called when I was just a young buck new to leather and all I got was a laugh from him. I told him I thought my G26 holster wasn’t right because I practically needed two hands to draw it. He told me it needs to break in. I told him I’ve had it almost two weeks and he burst out in laughter.
I have 37 single action 45s from 3.5in Thunderers to 5.5in plowhandles and are my favorite ccw guns even though I have several 9mms and 357 snubbies. I just wear long tail hoodies with shoulder or belt holsters. And in heat of summer with light clothes the snubs or 9s. Just something about those 45s that is comforting.
Awesome! I’ve carrying mine as well. Just easier on me to have a gun for all my uses (mounted shooting as well) to throw in the mix and add some proficiency. I’ll have to put in an order!
Looks good. I seem to remember that Ted Mernickle had some, that rode up fairly high, at least with shorter barrels. I always thought a 3.75" birdshead Vaquero or a short barrel Freedom Arms (if i could ever afford one, can't remember if they are 3 or 3.5", but i know they make a 44 Spl😁) would be a good way to go. I just might do it too, because i am probably going to move to AK in a year or so. The first shot with an SA is just about as fast as a DA or most autos, with practice. Followup shots are quick using the 2 hand technique. And let's face it- the 45 Colt has been putting bad guys in the ground since 1873, so we KNOW it works. And it is even better with improved modern loads.
I was talking to Cisco Master Gunfighter one day who lives in the Communist state of California, I asked him if he lived in Arizona would he open carry his single action revolver's or one of his semiautomatic gun's. He said he train's so much with his single action Ruger vaquero's that he can out shoot his semi-auto pistol's. Then he did a UA-cam video on it, I beat him onetime but then I woke up.
Nowadays SA revolvers might be good for the mailbox or for wild encounters on the trails or the farm. But for serious confrontation, the one with the most firepower will be the overcomer and very seldom that means a SA. I've been forced out of situations because I just couldn't stand a chance with a semi auto vs full auto. All of this translates to, if you need self defense in a world with full/semi auto weapon wielding criminals, it's always best to rock a pistol with 10 or 12 rounds with extra mags. That would be my advice to be ready and prepared for the unexpected
Yeah I'm still gonna rock with SA. The law nor criminals are not on your side. Say you decide you need to use your Glock 17 (holds 17 cartridges) let's say in the heat of the moment you shoot the guy maybe 2 or 3 times more than you intended or perhaps you did intend to do it, idk..the prosecutor is gonna have a field day trying to convince the jury that you were over zealous and even bloodthirsty. And let's face it most of the time the people they pull in there are not gun owners, never had to fight for themselves whatever the case. They will chew you up and you'll be legally a "murderer" simply because you defended yourself. Now with single action or double action revolvers you get 6 rounds generally. Six rounds of what? Well for example the SA's I'm looking at such as the Uber to cattleman 2 come with interchangeable cylinders one for 357 and the other 9mm. 2 quick shots of 357 or 38 special to your chest idc what kinda thug you think you are cause your pistol loads for you. You'll be dead. Of course with this platform it takes alot of practice to get good. But hey what else you have to do with your time? Every gun is a weapon. Every weapon can kill. Imo having a sa means you've/you'll trained/train to draw cock and fire that baby faster than Tyrone can pull his dirty unkept Glock 17 with missing rear sights out of his sagging pants. Either way i do believe it's still practical. And from what I understand MOST self defense situations are resolved WITHIN 6 shots. Give me a SAA clone (colt too expensive and chambered only for 45 colt) and I'm happy. To each his own. Do you my friend.
The better your aim is the less rounds you need, take that as you will. I doubt you were standing in front of someone with full auto and whoever ran out of bullets as you shot each other won. It doesn't matter how many rounds they have if you land a hit first
Sorry to say I visited Mitch's site, and this holster is NOT offered. I found one offered by Mernickle Holsters. I do own other Mitch Rosen holsters, and I like them. It is a shame he doesn't offer one for IWB for the Colt SAA.
This was a one-off, just call him and ask and they will make it. They are a custom house so not everything they can do is listed. No fail, you just need to ask. Roy
After watching this video I ordered a single action holster from this company.Top notch quality.

I am thinking of using a blued ruger bearcat shopkeeper for ccw. Now just to find a holster.

On my bucket list, thanks for this!
Very good to know. Some of those smaller ones especially Birds heads might be a great candidate for that. Thanks sir.

Awesome video
I love them too
I can't find this holster on the website.
hey the single action worked for McCloud!!!!! My Ruger blackhawk in 357 mag fits the bill!
Agreed Jeff! Roy

How about an old west spring clip skeleton (A.K.A Lightning) shoulder holster or even a double to carry on on each side?

I have a Super Blackhawk on order. I just went to his website and no SA revolver holsters anymore. 😢
They’re custom so give them a call and they can do whatever you want! Roy
I went to this company to buy a SSA concealment holster like yours. I searched their site and did not find the holster in question.
Call them. It’s not something they inventory but can certainly make them! Tell them I referred you. Roy
@@fmgpubs I will. thanks
Hopped on Mitch's Express webpage but no joy on a Single Action Express holster at this time....
I want it.!
He doesn’t list it on his website but you can call them and order one. Roy
@fmgpubs thanks.!
Better any gun in a gun fight over no gun in a gun fight 😂
The Ruger single-action holsters aren't on his website?
Reach out to Mitch through the contact form, email address or phone number on his website: mitchrosen.com/contact/
I’d love a more comfortable holster for my 3.5” birds head New Vaquero
Give the Rosen shop a call. And there are other custom makers if they can’t lend a hand! Roy

And btw it's not about who has more bullets. Sometimes yes. But really it's about who draws and fires first. I'm gonna rock with the SAA.

Is it IWB ? Concealment
Does the layout of the belt slots look IWB?
Does he make it for a 5.5" barrel? Lol Very nice! SAA clone, please! Lol
looks like he is not carrying it anymore
Doesn't seem to have much selection for any revolver.
