  • Building up grip strength is a great way to help improve on your overall strength and ability to train at a high level. Weak hands and forearms mean you aren't pulling the weight you might possibly be able to. Matt Wenning shows you tips on how to improve here without having to create entirely new workouts.

This video was super helpful. I’m purchasing a fat grip device today to increase my grip strength. I can easily deadlift 425lbs without straps and belt. I can’t go higher without straps.

Thank you for the excellent video sir! I am curious to know how many reps can you do with a 100 kg ihuniu power twister bar. I know a guy who can bench press 405 lb , and he could not bend that thing! John Mouser of Mouser Strength Dynamics can do 13 reps. Have a nice day sir.

    Matt,
Does the yellow handle of your grip machine at 2:49 rotate in the fingers?
There are a number of these machines on the market but none that I have seen allow the moving bar to rotate in the fingers.

Great video! I’ve implemented fat grip training and it’s helped my grip strength a ton. But doesn’t it make it harder to overload the muscle you are trying to hit?? For example the lats.

Overtaxing the nervous system you'll lose your grip strength... the use of fat gripz is to minimize using your grip strength... doing bent over rows or lat pulldowns you're not supposed to use your grip strength... your hands are used merely as hooks.
Using a grip tester is to see if you're CNS has fully recovered!
