    Your background items are always so perfect-matching whatever you are teaching. I appreciate your effort to do that. It is so beautiful and meaningful. That means you probably run your business with the same preciseness and precision. Most of us would feel safe doing business with you. And Jen, you are such a good teacher. Thanks for your videos.

    I love this video. I am over 68 and love learning to quilt. I had to wait until after the kids were grown, college out of the way and semi-retired before I could start 'investing' in quilting and embroidery. I wouldn't trade one moment for the joy of quilting. It is transformational and as we stitch, we weave together a legacy of common threads from past generations to future ones.

      What a beautiful sentiment! Thank you so much for sharing this with us and loving quilting just as much as we do!

    I did it ! Thank you for such clear instructions. You not only "tell" , you explain why. I am rushing to get a baby quilt done, and this was a perfect style border. Little munchkin arrived a bit over 2 months early. 3 lbs and breathing on his own :) I will be finished quilting tomorrow. My granddaughter doing well after c-section, and I hope the quilt will help her to believe he's really here.

    I am so happy I saw your video. I purchased the same panel along with lots of the fabric. I did make some table runners and center pieces, but I didn't really know what I was going to do with the panel.....now I can't wait to get started! Thanks Jennifer for your continued lessons and ideas.

    Jennifer, great video, How about doing one on Piano Key borders and how to decide the width of the strips.

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  7 років тому

      That can be totally up to you :) We just like using the 2.5 inch strips since they are pre-cut!

    Hi Jenny from Scotland, UK. Who makes that Sunflower panel? Obviously, buying a kit from you then paying shipping, tax & duties would make it pretty expensive.

      This is from the "Follow the Sun" collection by Wilmington Prints :)

    Hi Jennifer. can u please show how to actually make the piano key borders. Do u measures the sides and divide by 2 1/2? Ive done one piano key border by the grace of God it came out, I don't know how I did it but it came out. Do u already have a tutorial for that?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  7 років тому

      Hi Kerri! We measured the sides and divided by 2" (the finished size of the piano key) then add your 1/2". For example, if your quilt was 20-1/2" long, you would need ten 2" finished piano keys for that side. Thanks for watching our videos!

    You mentioned another miter border video. Can you provide a link to it

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  6 років тому

      Yes! We have a video on how to miter a striped border! Here is that video: ua-cam.com/video/2m85IzH3MNo/v-deo.html

  • @lynnl6101
    @lynnl6101 7 років тому

    Isn't the miter going the wrong way?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  7 років тому

      No? The miter is headed away from the center of the quilt at a 45 degree angle :)

    • @lynnl6101
      @lynnl6101 7 років тому

      That's interesting. I've looked at several other mitered quilts and you're right - quilt miters do go away from the center instead of towards the center. Thanks.
