This is the best tutorial ever. Shows it played at tempo, then carefully breaks it down note by note, including fingering. No easy key to play soulful in for us amateurs.
whenever I see a pianist play stuff like this and on top of that be modest, like saying "I better stop or I might screw this up"... seriously you are so amazing, you could play in my band if I'm worthy enough. you played everything Leon played perfectly. your lesson is obviously oriented towards people who know how to lay piano, so a meager piano-scratcher like me will only need about three years of practice if I'm lucky, to be able to play half as good as you. You Rock!
I just found you, yay! I have had this song in my head, an earworm and wanted to see if someone had a Piano Tutorial. Man, this is going to take a bit to master, but I love how you break it down and make it so easy to follow - WELL DONE! Thanks, Kim. A Piano player for a very long time! I have been working the Blues Scale, anything and everything Blues - this has that vibe and feel. Again, thank you!
As long as you keep naming letters played it really helps bro! Just don't go too fast for beginners! They need time for this special song! Thank much! Do more pop songs! 🦊💐🦊💐🦊
Love your lesson. The 'F' octave pedal is one bar of 16ths (it's quick 1 e & a) finishing on one of the next bar naturally with the drums beginning a fill on the 4 ish landing on one of course.. with the brass beginning on the 'and' of one in the second bar.
Alright dude, please allow me to make another comment. You give me HOPE! If you still care about this song play it as you humbly decribe your (apparent?) weaknesses, you give me hope that there are people who understand what Joe cocker and his band were about, (OK, so Leon mostly ran things) and whatever, just THANL YOU! sorry I had a bit of winne eh oh gosh just super happy now :)))))))

Warm regards, Tyler. Are you still active on this channel? Your tutorials are awesome. They've been a HUGE help, so thanks for that. May I request one or two? Would love to see Skynard's "Things Goin' On" and/or Clapton's "Tulsa Time". Thanks for what you do!
Would be great to see future songs like A. Treat- Santana B. I'm Alive- Spooky Tooth C. LOnely Too LOng- the young Rascals D. Crime of the century- Supertramp E. Steppin Out- Joe Jackson F. Let Me serenade you -Three Dog Night
great song, great tutorial. thanks. I do believe you did miss two chords however when they move from the bridge back into the verse they play an F chord and it moves to an F7 when Joe sings "Any way ".
Hi ! I really love this song and your way to play it, but I'm playing piano just for one year, and as I'm french, it's really hard for me to follow your lesson easily. So could anyone give me the sheet of this song pleaaaaaase :) ? Thanks a lot !

Love the ideas for upcoming lessons. I've had "Tightrope" on the back burner for awhile now.
so great ❤I wish you would record you playing and singing the entire song ‼️
Outstanding, have a gig Saturday and had to learn "The Letter". Thanks...
Definitely from Leon Russell....Joe Cocker just sang it...Leon brought it to life on the piano!
Now THIS I can do. Great instruction too. Thnx!!!
Great tutorial! Great song! Great piano! Thank you, Tyler!
Excellent lesson thanks

well done. thank you so much.
Great lesson....Thanks for sharing...!!
Very good teacher...
Really great video and teaching!
This is a typical Leon Russell arrangement. It's a great cover because of Leon's arrangement and piano as well as Joe's vocal.
Damn right. Leon the best.
yeah I am kinda surprised he keeps talking bout Joe, when this is all Leon.. he kinda saved Joes butt so the story goes.
Way cool! Thanks for being so ear savvy! I've always played this song badly in C . Bb is much more colourful.
You didn't mess up - good post - many thanks.
Excellent
EXCELLENT many, many thanks for sharing

Tyler, how about "Feeling Alright" by Joe Cocker also; Would you please give a thought about it. You would be an excellent tutor for such piece.
Man, thank you so much!
Leon Russell gave it that soul. incredible touch

Ohhh wow 🤩
Wonderful lessons; but I cheat; I just take your beautiful arrangement and slow the vid down to .75; much easier for learning purposes.
I love this! I can't wait to play it!
Great,thanks !
Can you please do “Wait by the water” by Burton Cummings?? That would be so cool and there’s almost no guess who/burton tutorials!
Nice one mate 🎹 do you have a fender Rhodes? Nothing like it
thank u very much for that great tutorial ´!!,too band my band wants to play it in a minor ... but its no big deal to transpose
