Ikr... I never knew about this...
lmao when you waste your life
TheApoke Wait, YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!!!
Actually I find its much easier to use the eraser trick. and when you change properties and dont save, close and reopen the file, if you use the pencil again it has weird grey edges around it.
Another easy thing is Transparent Selection under the select tool. If you keep the color you want to remove in Color 2, and put the color you want it to become in Color 1, you do Select All; Cut; Fill with Color 1; Paste; done :)
Oh, I get it.
*I don't get it.*

Another trick for cleaning up you sketch that's way easier AND you don't have to line in black!
1. Make sure your sketch is a different color from your lineart.
2. Select your sketch color as 'Color 2' (right click with eyedropper tool)
3. Set your background color as 'Color 1' (left click with eyedropper tool)
4. Click the arrow button under the select tool and choose 'Transparent Selection'
5. Click the arrow button under the select tool, then do 'Select All' and cut.
6. You should notice that your whole canvas is the color of your sketch. Use the fill bucket tool to change your canvas color to your background color.
7. Paste. You now have clean linework!
Step 1. Think of art
Step 2. Don't
@@jussomdude8506 isnt every art "real" art?

MS Paint is underrated. It is great for basic stuff. Clean and crisp art. Using "Properties" is a must when trying to get sharp line work. Keyboard shortcuts are helpful as well. I like ctrl>left click to copy a "selected" object and move to desired position. Transparent selection is key to this. And the arrow keys on the keyboard help with precise positioning. So many ways to do things in this program. Just look for the right tutorials, and "the sky is the limit". Saving elements, or small drawings, to bitmap can be helpful when pasting from files. Thanks for this upload. It points the way....
I think I will stick with mosaic, draw random lines and then filling in with different colors :D

He do you do it?!???!!?
I did everything at 3:13 and it goofed up my whole project. Thanks Rebaka.

Sadly I'm not very good at digital art so yeah. But this video helped me because when I try to draw digital art I use ms paint. So thanks!
how i do in ms paint (i use mouse so hehe)
1. i make a circle for head
2. i make the sketch for the head and body
3. i do the real lineart on those shape thingies or just pen.
4. after i have done the lineart, i put the color i wanna delete (the sketch) to the place 2 on that little thingy and white on the 1st.
5. i put the transparent section on on that select thing and then move the picture with free form- or rectangular selection. ta da, your sketch is gone, and the real lineart doesnt have to be black!
6. when the sketch is gone, i usually put sharp endings to the lines so they look more cleaner.
7. then comes the fun part! coloring, lighting and shading. i always first color the places the way i want. usually start with the hair and all the way to the legs so hair-face-middle body-legs, sometimes clothes.
8. after done that, i start shading, i usually use little bit darker shadings from the body, but in black-white pictures, the shading is black.
9. when coloring and shading is done, i put some little details like shine for the hair and so and so.
10. last, i put the backround. sometimes i dont but usually yes.
that's how i use mspaint! ^^
When you have a windows 10 and most of these don't work anymore.
**Intense crying**
+xx selenium xx I'm on Windows 10, they should work!
I have been using MS Paint for so long yet FINALLY THIS ONE TIME I LEARN HOW TO FILL WITHOUT THE WHITE EDGES! Never knew the pencil tool was actually useful
Thanks for making this! This came up in my recommended at just the right time. I wanted to draw stuff and was thinking about getting a free tool to do it with. I kept it at the back of my mind as something I wanted to do later, then I got on to youtube to watch videos and I saw this. My first drawing using this while trying to follow along wasn't that great, but after that I started over from scratch and remade it and it looks amazing (at least for my below-par drawing skills) This really helped me!
Edit: Also now I've spent three hours making two drawings and it's midnight. Life well spent.
Dunno if you've found FireAlpaca after 9 months or not, but I'm recommending it anyway just in case .. it's worth it. As much as I love using MS Paint (it's how I got into digital art in the first place), I came across FA. It's a free download; and in many ways, heaps better than MSP. A lot more tools are avaliable, e.g. opacity, onion skin mode, gradients, etc., as well as a better reception in the overall art community. Most people just hate MSP because they have no idea how to use it/have no skills to use it in the first place. A few tools aren't all that intuitive, but with experimenting (and Googling, if you're too lazy to figure it out), they're easy to learn and easier to master. You can export to different file types 'n that too; transparent backgrounds are an awesome feature. If you still use MSP and like pixel art, there's a binary pen tool as well. Pretty neat-o stuff :D
I’ve started drawing on ms paint again for a children’s picture book idea I’ve had and want to publish. I use to draw graphic art on the older versions of paint. Ms paint could really save lots of artist thousands as you can really do a lot on ms paint
Wow just wow. I've been using Paint once and awhile (I'm not really a drawing type of artist, I'm more of an author than a painter but I do want to try.) and since it's the only thing I use to draw, this will be really useful for me if I want to start drawing characters and stuff akin to that. Thank you very much for this video.

i Have been using it for 5 years and iam 9 now wowee
ive been using it for 10 years and im 5 fuck u xddd rawr
i usually use firealpaca, but i do use ms paint too when i get bored. i didn't actually know about the black and white trick, so i just used the eraser trick. (holding right click while you erase will replace the primary color with the secondary color, if anyone didn't know) this tutorial did help a lot, so thanks!
The first drawing thing I used is MS paint, still using it 👍
There's so much more that you need to learn.
A LOT.
Some things that you can do:
- You can do gradient
- Airbrush tool
- Right-click eraser
- Copy+Paste Shading
Etc.
I always use a mouse and can't do stuff like that but this video might help
because of this video i have drawn so much more than i ever have. so thanks Rebaka! you da best!
The video I saw before was Radiohead - Burn The Witch
Thank you so much for this video! This makes me like MS paint a whole lot more and makes it way easier to use!
Dan!
Who else saw Thomas Jefferson from Hamilton in her Paint artwork?
Awesome video, Rebaka, you’re the best at Microsoft paint!

it's actually easy to make good-ish art in paint though
That's a lie.
@@nyupun7024 Agreed. Good arts been made in paint for a long time. -_- *coughs*..
If you use the eraser tool use color 1 to the color you want to change and color 2 to the color you want to change it to, when you do that go over everything with the eraser tool holding right click
plz answer this!!!!!! how do u animate??
Ava Gores I draw frames in either Fire alpaca or opentoonz and put them together in premiere elements.
Rebaka-Chan uhh you r a complicated person and when me a socially awkward person talks to u in screaming😅
good job, but for the shading I suggest choosing an area that the light is coming from. The drawing in the video had shading pretty much everywhere, with no solid light source. for instance, if light was coming from the top left, there would be darkness behind the nose, under the neck, behind layers of hair, and on the right side of the body. Pretty much on the right side in general. if it's a front view, I shade around the nose, the cheek bone line, and around the eyebrow arch instead of just anything behind the nose.
**motivation intensifies**
I just spend my last 30min looking for this great video, introducing design to my 8 years son and your video is just fantastic. I don't know why I didn't subscribed before...
rip paint
?
Actually I drew vegeta with Ms Paint and it's the most beautiful thing I've ever done it's so similar to the original, I'm proud

oh my ghad, thank you so much for this, I had fun watching at the same time learning. I love your storytime animations btw.
No don't post that first crap.
You don't need to do the line art in black because another way to get rid of the sketch is to:
1) put the color of the sketch in color one
2) make sure the color in color 2 is white
3) hold down right click and erase
besides that, amazing drawing!
first :3c
Cinnabani no
Cinnabani No ONE CARES dude.
WoAh ChiLl guys
KJMZ shorts C'mon who cares if anything it's sad.
Why does it matter if your first? :/
This is what i do in MS paint:
First, i take the circle tool and make some red circles (two to three).
I draw line-art without sketch. (I rarely draw lines for limbs but when i do, i draw a base for the hands too)
Sometimes, if i needed to draw over black lines, I select another colour other than white, bright yellow, red or black, and draw over the black lines (this is mainly for necks over hair or arms over hair)
After the line-art is done, I grab the bucket tool and put red in Colour 1, keep white in colour 2. Then, I click red, white, red, white until all the bright colours (red, orange, etc) are gone.
After doing that, I colour the drawing, (rarely do shading) and colour the eyes. I don't usually add a background, but when I do, if i leave the transparent on, I colour anything white with blue, purple, etc. and then put it over the background I want. That way, it doesn't appear in the eyes/teeth on the character.
And that, my friends, is how I use MS Paint. If there are any mistakes, please tell me them in my reply box. I will fix them.
I use ibs paint and it's really high quality for an app on your phone. :T
It’s funny to me how quickly after you started my brain said: “Oh! It’s Dan!”
Hey, remember venturiantale?
*cricket chirping*
Btw great video! I always wondered how you made this amazing art in MS Paint!
It's always fun seeing other MS Paint users. ;)
BLESS YOU FOR THE COLOR HACK 😭🙏🏾💙!! I can finally have a faster way on getting rid of the sketch instead of just coloring over it.
You can also use the erase button to draw! it gives you thick lines with clean edges. no white pixels.
Rebaka-Chan! Please notice this!
You don't have to switch between the two types of lines. Once you make your one adjustment to your curved line, don't move your mouse, just click a second time in the same spot, no changes are made to your line and it finishes it.
People:**draw perfectly a square**
Ms Paint: No i don't think you will
oR to remove the sketch, you can just select the colour of the sketch in the "colour 1" slot and the colour of the background in the "colour 2" slot and right click with the eraser tool.
I honestly think I use MSPaint really well, to the point where people don't believe me when I say I drew stuff in MSPaint, but I'm slowly moving up in life. Starting to use Gimp.
*I don't have money to buy super duper fancy programs*
Actually, after you are done with the curve tool, you can double click and a box will appear as if it were selected. It's a whole lot easier.

This is what I have been looking for
how to erase the sketch
THANK YOU.
No joke best ms paint I have ever seen great job!!
Whelp, this channel is my new religion. I PRAISE YOU THINE MS PAINT DIETY!!
Edit: WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT, Is, Is that Dan? Avidan? (Looks like him with the eyebrow cut, and all.
I was watching and when I saw your name it sounded so familiar and then I realized...YOU'RE FROM THE VENTURIAN TALE CHATS FROM LIKE 3 YEARS AGO. I used to love your art on deviantart when I was in 6th grade. It's a small world haha
I erase my sketch by choosing the color i used for the sketch and putting it on the second color bar and then I choose the eraser and hold right click and kaboom! No more sketch, (atleast after you erase all of it) It works really well for me
I think for shading the Natural Pencil brush comes out with the best result, its what I like to do.
One trick for MSpaint for shading is using the eraser. select the color that you need to shade over for the color 1, then select the color you need to shade with for color 2. Then use right click to 'paint' shadows with your eraser. Much faster than painting with the pencil brush.
Wait wtf it’s actually very good ,I’m actually shook
I use MS paint for 2 years now and I was a noob using it but now I know how to use it now!!!!
This is awesome! I'm seriously considering trying this out!
I find it funny that since MS Paint is being removed people are now appreciating it. Nevermind the fact that those same people called that program trash.
Even though I have a Mac now, I used to have a lot of fun recoloring baritone screenshots in MS Paint. Hell, I even drew something in that program once. Before my computer malfunctioned and I literally couldn't save.
This is kinda nostalgic. In XP I used to draw in paint all the time because of the curve tool. I had no tablet (not even my cheap old thing that I have now) I also had no other drawing software. Fun times. I never really liked the new paint version in win7 :(
I make the scetches a diffrnet color all of the sketch so when I am ready to do the details I use paint bucket tool in white and then BAM!
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH REBAKA!!! I REALLYBAM GRATEFUL A PERSON LIKE YOU EXIST TO TEACH PEOPLE STUFF LIKE THIS ^o^ :D
i draw with MSpaint. so yeah. its nice to see such a video (oh yeah. and if you want to know. i know one MSpaint trick for shading.)
XD I loved this video! Your one that TRULY understands the power of Ms Paint (DX what am i saying!?) I subscribed because of this and will look forward to watch some more of your videos :)
ya know, i fuggin LOVE this program.

Also ALSO me: *Sees other how to ms paint vid.*
to 'set' your curve with the curve tool you could also just right click, hope it helps!
You can also click again where you were to make the line
Awesome. Was searching everywhere just for this. Thank you, you have my subscription !
To blend the shading better you should use the natural pencil tool (under paint with the other tools) then add the desired color. To blend it you need to use the colors in between the newly created shading and the main color. If you zoom in you can see the darker pixels. Just click on those colors and create a different line. Just a (very long) suggestion lol.
Omg I saw my art here!! Rebaka-Chan Thank you so much!!!
There's a way to make the shading beautiful, copy the picture with the color you are shading in color two, then do ur thing, paste, and it's clean, ps the select must be transparent
this vid helped me alot i had figured that ms paint was indeed very practical , mspaint is very effective tool for begginers
I wonder if you duck tape a pen or a pencil to the mouse because of how neat your drawing looks
Thank you someone else appreciates Ms paint
