He need to do 3 things he'll improve a lot and win this fight: 1. Pick up those damn pebbles and learn to skip to True Charged Slash! 2. Tenderize to fully make use of Weakness exploit. 3. Craft and use Max potions mid battle instead of Mega, will save A LOT of healing time for more attack
tenderizing in this case might not be the best idea since it does not make a difference on the elemental cap, what he need to learn mostly is focusing only on the front arms in fire mode and horns on dragon mode
@@ivasanchezify The elemental cap isn't really his issue though. He's not doing enough raw damage to end the fight fast enough. He's whiffing way too many of his attacks, and spending too much time running around healing. He can break Alatreon's horns well enough, and does enough elemental damage to just barely hit the elemental cap (would be faster if not for whiffing and healing so often). Anything to help with the amount of raw dps he puts out would go a long way at this point. Including everything mentioned by the op, and by meowmeow396 and Airtroops83.
He’s definitely getting better and his builds are improving, but he’s still not getting other things (like utilizing quick menu to craft and have extra mega/max potions, flash pods/flinch knockdowns). I was definitively impressed when he not only managed to break the horns on regular, but also proc the Elemental knockdown. He’s a slow learner, but unlike some, he actually learns.
I don't want to sound like a hardcore Asmon fan but I think he learns pretty fast. This fight is just hard hard with gs. Alatron is way easier with other weapons
@@tibso. Yep! Specially for a new mh player like asmongold. Greatsword has shit elemental motion values. I'd say he's doing quite fucking well. Most people would have just given up on the solo attempt by now and would ask to get carried. I met many players like that. When I play gs vs ala i just go RAW, and usually it's pre-escathon or barely pre-escathon (depends if ala flies a lot or not). But, going elemental? Actively trying to topple with that thing is a bad a time.
He is doing really well he just needs to use the clutch claw and tenderize parts great sword does a lot of damage to tenderize parts and that's where his missing damage would come from.
@@Rafi0421 If i remember correctly, different weapon types have different multiplicators regarding the escaton judgement prevention, with greatsword having a very high one and bow having an extremely low one, the trick with the GS is that the charge attack isnt doing alot Elemental damage, but the sideway slash does, which allows to topple Alatreon with 3-4 hits of it
@Rafi0421 it's actually not hard to do the element check with gs if you get the TCS openings. Gs has a straight up 1.2x multiplier to element for this fight
This is were the return to worlds hits a wall. By the time aletreon came out we had months on the guiding lands to farm out weapon augments. So while the back to back hunts was ok up until alatreon he was designed around those months and months of farming decos and guiding land augmentations
no wonder i struggle... i got to Alatreon as i unlocked guiding lands... i beat him without end game gear... but that shit was a paen in dzeee azz hole
This exact reason is why I wished Capcom would put higher MR requirements for Alatreon/Fatalis. 24/25 is way too soon. Especially with other event missions going up to as requiring MR 175
Ala just needs ice weapons...it's a lot harder with raw stuff like Greatsword than something like Dual Blades but totally doable without augments. Fatalis on the other hand, will be hell without at least a health augment.
I went back to playing World and deliberately did not grind anything to see if it was possible to just play the game from the beginning and beat Alatreon and Fatalis as the game naturally progressed. It is completely possible, and I used GS the entire game. Beat Alatreon with the Frostfang Barrioth GS (never bothered to grind for the Kjjar weapons) and beat Fatalis before passing MR 50. You absolutely do not need to grind guiding lands, it is completely optional content. Edit: Fixing autocorrects
He is super under geared for this fight. He need them critical and hp boost and weapon augmentation. His gameplay is already good. This is just self torturing
I counted the damage for his last attempt. Seems to be at around 40.5k. Alatreon has 52.5k solo hp based on the wiki so about 25% hp left for the boss.
@@nisu1918 I don't know why he hasn't up until alatreon but as someone who is also struggling on alatreon it's pretty hard to wallbang him since there's specific spots you need to hit him with and he always moves right before you redirect him, putting him closer to enraging and opposite the direction of the wall. Relying on wallbangs isn't good either imo, because it resulted in me killing raging brachy first try purely because I got lucky with wallbangs.
Yeah, Alatreon really does test your mettle the first time around. ^^ But as most people pointed out, he actually improves a lot. Lasting 20 minutes against Alatreon means you already figured out everything you need. Now it's just practice.
I love that this game isnt a tank and spank. Ive only just beaten the base game and had some challenges in my first MH game. So addictive though. Love the clear improvements you can see through attempts. He will smash this soon
Still getting off his back immidiately just to eat another hit. Has nobody told him in his entire run?!?! If you just DONT MOVE when you get put on your back, you are invincible for about 5 seconds or so before the game auto picks you up, saves you from getting juggled back to back.
100% certain he saw a meta build guide and called it a day without even reading what the skills even did the constant aiming for true charge slash is hurting him so much and it's creating alot of downtime as a result
@@Vell-aahHe is using it at chats recommendation, which is part of the problem with listening to them is they don’t usually provide an explanation on why or how he should use it.
@@thewok8822 savant would imply that he is really good at using it. He isnt. Its great to see him slowly get better and better, but he really hasnt changed that much from hour 10 when he just commits to every tcs and is basically the only thing he does. He picked probably the WORST weapon for a new player to the series to pick. To do well with GS you HAVE to know the monsters and you HAVE to be thinking 3 steps ahead. Any other weapon in the game besides lance because it just sucks in world would have been a better weapon for him
@@Airtroops83 TCS Merchant i mean my bad, His playstyle is too Aggressive, the best weapon for him is SnS, Low Threshold but has a very high Ceiling if you want to learn it. Less punish than GS because of how agile it is not to mention the buckler when you can't dodge
People have to stop saying he is undergear. Further augmentation would definitely make it easier but it is totally doable for him right now, since he is already skilled enough He consistently weakens the judgement and breaks the horns. He just have to reduce random deaths. Some deaths are unavoidable like some "forced" judgement deaths, when Alatreon doesn't have anymore horns to be broken and changes to opposing element Like the attempt which failed at around 1:41:05, he totally could have clutched it out if he didnt die right there He can survive the judgement right there and the next one would kill him since Alatreon would be ice, but before that point, he would have around 10 min to play with and he totally has enough time to kill it So it was really close
@@wasabilai9405 his build uses frostcraft, critical draw. So the first attack from sheath gets 100% affinity (full crit chance) and additional frost damage. The rest don't and have next to no crit chance. he's wasting his one good attack to get to the next two that are specifically underpowered to balance a powerful first attack. A part of me admires his resilience so far even though by the end of this stream he seemed like he quit and didnt want to ever return. And another part of me is kind of enjoying seeing him struggle and tilt because thats what you get for refusing to properly learn the game and how your weapon works.
he came to the fight with a frostfang barioth weapon, frostcraft, and some comfort skills. as far as "properly learning the game" goes, he is very well prepared and isnt doing half bad.
@@fatusopp4739 he doesnt use his weapon properly, he barely uses clutch claw, he doesnt use the slinger, he doesn’t use flash pods, he doesn’t use radial menu crafting for Max potions instead of wasting time using Mega Potions, etc etc. There’s so much stuff he’s not using that he should be, so no, he didnt properly learn the game.
frostcraft with crit draw, yet almost never does a first charge draw always foecing a tcs like an idiot going for clip montages, weakness exploit yet hardly tenderizes. doesnt remove mantles to help on cd. doesnt take advantage of superman dives nor invuln frames being knocked down. doesnt know of moxies, safeguard and insurance, always just spams whatever food, lets not forget he got up to alatreon without knowing what blights are and how to remove them, prepared my ass.
asmon if you ever read this, look into crafting smoke bombs. they hide you from the boss and if you use them when he's flying, he lands because he resets because he can't find you. otherwise you constantly have to deal with losing a minute or so of damage each time he flies.
@@aj991 tbh i switched to max potions as a main healing source somewhere in high rank. Sometimes i open a MH stream, see someone gulping down a REGULAR potion all the way at rajang or something, and wonder how they're still okay with it
@@lred1383Well, MHW are definitely easier than old games until raging branchy, and access to online makes the game easier for others to carry people. I run with wide area build to farm Furious rajang/Safi/Kulve, without those basically it's cartfest. The funny part is sometimes I can get aggro on safi while actually carrying team heals, how TF you can have less DPS than a dedicated healer? The only fight you cannot carry is Fatalis. Everybody needs pull their own weight. Nerfed alatreon run can be carried using wide area, but Fatalis? You need to use your own max potions. I tried to use the heal build, it just cannot heal people fast enough even with max eating speed.
Because aggro is random. This game doesn't have enmity. With the exception of someone carrying the Provoker Deco, which is also boosted on the Lance classes.@@aj991
Some of these were really great attempts! You gotta understand that by the time Alatreon came out, most hunters had the decos/gear/experience really needed for Alatreon. I haven't been keeping up with all the MH content (I have been LOVING what I get to watch btw) but I think you're still needing some good decos? And augmenting your weapon will help a lot. You did great with what you had my guy. Don't let this boss tilt you or question yourself. Alatreon is meant to be difficult and the more you fight him, the more you learn him. You made great progress! You will kill him soon! I believe in you!
Also Alatreon: "Hey im Alatreon and got designed for a dumb elemental DPS Check and before u forget.. My Powermove oneshots if u didnt reach the tons of elemental dmg u need for me x)" Trololol :D I really love MHW but Alatreon strategy is just stupid and not fun at all
@@scarletshinoa1588 It's genuinely not difficult to reach the dps check though. It just requires you to actually learn the fight so that you can be aggressive and stick to him. I'm not trying to hate or call anybody bad, the fight is tough for sure, but the elemental dps check is not bad at all. A mediocre greatsword with the right element and +6 to the respective element skill can easily reach the threshold long before he uses Judgement just by slapping his front legs consistently. If anything it's the horns that are the issue because some weapons struggle to hit them, but at the same time they really don't have much part hp.
@@scarletshinoa1588 Are you one of the dozen salty redditors who wanted this monster gone from the franchise beacuse he "ruined my gaming experience!!!" Beacuse you sure as hell sound like one. Like, I think I could copy this exact copy from the website.
Oh he is so very close. Got the topples, got the horn breaks. The needless deaths due to greed, if he gets those away, will allow him to get through an extra judgment. He has more than enough damage now. Just a matter of time now.
@@PandaXStorm bruh he could literally just play his build properly. Everyones throwing all this shit out there and he's not even charging up the one attack his build is geared for
@@RuneKatashima Augmenting is not the issue. He needs to get better at using his weapon, not a solution to beat Alatreon without learning the game and continue like that. Alatreon is a lot more forgiving than fatalis or AT Velkh.
Here's a quick tip. Whenever he does that vertical frost/fire breath, use the clutch claw and tenderize his face. You avoid the attack and be on offense at the same time
Remember you can take extra stuff to craft heals while on the hunt, I always take 10 of each potion, honey, mega nutrients and mandragoras just in case, also getting health augments helps alot
So he is dying to a little of everything. Which means he is confusing himself. He got to simplify the gameplay and for me that means lean into the draw attacks. Forget the TCS until he is down because there isn’t enough downtime.
Ditch health booster (I don’t know what you are trying to do when putting it on the ground when you’re full life but it won’t work), get temporal mantle instead (auto dodge for a short period) use max potions instead of mega potions and you’re golden, you are litteraly this close to just bodying him.
No temporal mantle , non augmented weapons and armor , no flash pods, not tenderizing, not mounting , no wallbang , not crafting max potions , and the guy thinks he came prepared ....🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
its like he saw a meta build guide and called it a day LOL this guy would not make it if he played monster hunter frontier z or monster hunter 4ult for that matter
@@Vell-aah I think he'll do way better with 4U and simpler mechanics once he grab the control of the weapon, older MH games are just janky with hitboxes and need to have more patience for "your turn", they're much less convoluted with 10 mechics at once
@@BadEnd98 the hit boxes where a huge issue till freedom unite stop being a thing, the later games improved the hit-boxes for good amount of monsters imho the lack of restocking camps during hunts, tighter controls/monster patterns and semi-dps checks for elder dragons would flip his world without a doubt patience and positioning are definitely key for every monster hunter game but it was way more significant in the old games, two key factors assmon already has issues doing with world, so im not sure

When bro comes back again with a fresh mind, hes gonna beat it first try. Its just how it goes if ykyk And even if he doesn't, hes definitely getting better with each attempt, learning more and more.
Asmon need to realize, clutch claw attack does moderate damage by itself, and to use it offensively as appropriate instead of just tenderizing with it. When Alatreon is using his breath (and flying + breath), and player is distance away, it is usually a nice timing to use clutch claw instead and getting that moderate damage in. That is, instead of just watching it until he's done doing the breath attack. Or trying to get close but miss the timing of GS attacks. Another tips: The dash is 2 times when enraged Claw swipes can be up to 2 times + 1 body drop when enraged, tackle patiently.
bro needs to actually play safer once he's done with dps check and horn break. Hit every possible opening but try not to faint then he's good on the next phase. I think he is not undergeared since it is actually doable with frostfangs weapons as long as he keep on hitting and stop taking hits.
i forgot if i had the full safi set on or just 2 velk and 2 raging brachy set on my first clear. as long as I had frostfang barioth ls with uce atk 5. im good with the dps check.
One important tip is when u get knocked down when u r fully flat on the ground you are immune to damage dont stand up instantly Man you are sooo close to killing it u got this him
Main points as I reckon he can beat him 1. Eat for insurance/moxie as then you get another life 2. Stop relying on that mantle, its a decent mantle but also gets you killed often 3. BRING HONEY TO CRAFT MORE MEGAS 4. Learn how to wall bang(its a free 1k+ dmg and a topple)
Really cool to see him get better and better every run. From barely getting one elemental topple to getting both topples + 2 headbreaks. Hes gonna get it for sure in the next few runs. But man, is his inventory holding him back. Not bringing 5 Mega Nutrient + 5 Mandragora to craft more max potions during the fight is costing him punishes. There were a couple of instances where he was just chugging mega potions and unable to attack the monster without risking getting one shot at low HP. Having more max potions would solve that issue.
I love Asmon he seems like a good guy. I don't want to come off harsh or demeaning. I just want him to have fun with the game. I think he is having fun with the game, but at least for me. Having fun in a game is tied to how good I am at that game, and how knowledgeable I am about the game. After all if I don't understand something or am constantly having a hard time I find it difficult to have fun. I don't want this to sound too harsh, but I'll make an analogy for any WoW people that might not have played MH. If you think about Alatreon like a really hard raid. Asmon currently is kinda like the person in your raid that can't play their class and doesn't understand some of the basic mechanics. I know he just wants to do everything on his own and that's perfectly fine. BUT he really needs to look up a guide on how to play Great sword, or he needs to bring in a mentor to teach him. Like a speedrunner or something. He is missing some critical information on the mechanics of this game that if he knew would probably make things much easier for him. He is way too greedy with getting hits. He needs to learn to just find an opening, run in and charge his draw attack, then get out. He misses so many damage opportunities because he always tries to get more hits than he can. Also he doesn't charge his attacks as often as he should. That being said sometimes you can really only get a stray uncharged hit. But he just needs to get more familiar with when he can and can't. It just seems that he picks up on these things slower. Also doesn't help that he's super stubborn. I have no doubt that he can beat this fight. But with his current skill level, and game knowledge. The way he is playing now there ain't no way he is beating Fatalis solo. He needs to learn how to play greatsword better, and he needs to learn how to use his slinger. It's kind of incredible that he still doesn't know how to flinch shot. Learning that alone would improve his play by a lot. He has definitely been slowly improving though. I believe that he will beat Fatalis eventually. It just might take awhile.
The fire attacks are actually ez he's not as bad as he thinks he is. Asmon just needs to pay more attention. 1 Alatreon does a fire breath attack like Toasty. Just superman dive to avoid it, or roll towards the side of it's head if you're nearby. 2 Alatreon does a fire breath attack like Toasty when flying. Go underneath to avoid it. 3 Alatreon does a fireball attack aoe on the ground. It explodes in a sequence. Ideally you would want to stand on the 2nd ring of the aoe explosion, so when the first ring goes off you can roll into the first ring to avoid the 2nd and 3rd explosion. It's also one of the best openings to hit Alatreon's horns. 4 Alatreon does straight fire breath attack. Very easy to avoid 5 Alatreon does a fire attack on the ground similar to the aoe one, but it looks like a Y this time. It seems like it only does it if you are a few 20-30 meters away from it. Easy to avoid as long as you are not doing something else on the side like sharpening your weapon for example. 6 Alatreon does a fire release like attack after breathing fire into the ground while flying. If you stay near the aoe of his ground fire breath, you will take DOT. After that you can either superman dive to dodge the fire release, or you can i-frame roll it (tight window unless you have evasion boost skill). Alatreon is actually a hard boss despite what other people say, so I don't think taking every advantage you got, or cheesing him in some way waters down the feat of defeating him. Why play fair when the monster isn't fair lol. Also I think Asmon kinda handicapped himself with the 870+ defense he has.
You improved a lot but I think there are 2 things which holds you back from wining not including wall bangs and the short cuts for the true charge slash. Number one is tenderising the claws or the head. That are his weakpoints and you are hitting them the most and not tenderizing them leaves you with way less damage . Every time when alatreon is staggered you are going for attacks instead of going for the clutch claw, which not only would increase the length of his staggered animation but also gives you free opening for a tenderize. Also every time he does the attack where he flys up and then breathes ice or fire on the ground for a few seconds , you can just clatch claw on him to avoid the attack and get the tenderize and obviously extra damage. But the second thing is how you very often try to hit a true charge in situations where you have no idea what the monster does next. You are gambling that he stays at the same place and doesn´t do an attack where you have to tackle two times very fast, which sometimes works out but most of the times you take unneeded damage or even straight up miss. You already noticed the duration of some of his attacks. Going for the other charge attacks at level 3 three is fine. just do that and reposition yourself for the next attack and when possible skip the other charge attacks with the tackle to get a faster true charge slash.
For the long range fire breath attack. Do a superman dive. Run opposite direction of the boss and press dodge. You are immune to damage while superman diving. With some exceptions
1:14:00 was literally one hp. I swear he was a few hits away from killing him and it woulda been hype. Two clutch flame dodges (pls superman dive reee) . Areal clencher that one. Honestly, with health augment a d temporal, he has this. And the wild part is, he is t even using tenderize, flashpods and wallbangs! Impressive tbh. Also his dense is low AF Health augment for bariath weapon id pretty easy to get, just need forest lvl 6 at mr 70. It also unlocks gold and silver ians, which can give him div blessing secret to helo with the fight. Also, he can literally forego the blight charm by eating veggie platter tho it would mea. He cant cart. Additionally, he can eat for feline insurance if he takes the time to unlock it, which gives zn extra cart.
Nearly killing full-blown Alatreon solo certainly isn't 'garbage' my dude. Great fun watching these attempts, look forward to you nailing it soon for the absolute poggers.
take it from a person that trains other players in this game alatreon is a dance u have to slow urself down, your using one of the slowest weapons in the game which takes more precision with faster monsters. Slow down settle for smaller hits, go for trips, and stagers clutch claw more often to dodge the downward ice room he does, each horn u break he skips a stage and gets a little more eratic this monsters is made to kill players that get greedy and like to move fast. Its a dance u move they move but dont let up.
He is VERY close now. Nice effort and perseverance I might say. The problem is dealing damage to actually kill him. The juggle on elemental attack and raw is the challenge
33:05 the first time that Asmongold passed the element dps-check (and here him surviving the respective nova/judgement: 37:50). 41:33 what carted him here is Alatreon's stomp attack, where it slams the ground 2-3 times in a row. 50:50 dps-check clear 01:01:45 dps check clear 01:11:40 cat OP, dps check clear. Both horns broken, making progress! 01:19:10 dps check clear 01:25:30 dps check clear 01:41:00 rip, that was a really good run. 01:47:20 dps check clear 01:52:00 dps check clear 01:57:30 dps check clear 02:02:30 rip. He got very close to beating the quest twice in a row.
Good on Asmon for trying this solo. I never could solo it (but haven't tried that much as well) and I farmed with SOS. I admin I enjoyed SOS when competent players joined. Also, I don't use anything from its gear it was more like a checkmark. I don't feel I *need* to solo him. Maybe I'll try when I'm done with AT Velkhana but I don't feel I *have to*. Anyways, good luck to Asmon, I hope he gets it!
Successfully soloed this asshole only once. Lost track how many fails and abandons. Devs did not intend everyone to solo, i personally dont recommend, its absolutely a miserable experience. I dont even think the quest is entirely fair, many times ive carted to his normal fire breath attacks even at full health and at other times i survive, wth.
Hey Asmon you're doing great so far. You made lot's of progress and had a few very close runs! The i-frame dodges for some of your runs was particularly impressive. If you'd like a bit of advice, I'd say all you need to do sheath your weapon more. You understand the mechanics for most of the moves and know how to dodge them, but you tend to lock yourself into a TCS and then are forced to tank the hit. For example, I'm willing to bet you would consistently nail the flame circle move if you had your weapon sheathed. No shame in relying on the draw attack (especially since your build is sort of centered around the draw attack). Don't give up man, remember this is a top 5 hardest monster in the game and not well suited for the great sword.
There is alot of inefficiency he is making which makes the less stressful. GS has high learning curve. 1. He needs to do the TCS skip 2. He needs to stop charging too much (committing too much knowing that he doesn’t know what alatreon will do next). He needs to charge his first attack more often. 3. He needs health augment 4. He needs to auto craft max potion 5. He needs to learn Alatreon moves further.
In terms of gameplay he's completely fine. The only reason he didn't beat the boss is his gear. He lacks the endgame equipment improvements made available for endgame players to beat these endgame bosses. Sadly he'll have to try and fail many more times until the gameplay compensates the lack of gear.
The fact that people have done non upgrade challenges means it’s a skill issue I’ve helped hundreds of clears now for Alatreon the number one killer of hunters is never really escaton judgement fails but rather just learning the fight itself 🤷 .
He doesn’t even need the end game gear, he just needs to get good at dodging and punishing his attacks. He’s able to get consistent head breaks and weaken Alatreon, all he needs is to not randomly faint to a random attack.
I think if he blocks more with the greatsword instead of rolling, he'll be able to beat the fight. Rolling in this game is way tighter with the s than a souls games unless you slot in evade window decos.
There's no need for augmented gear. I did it with the safijiva/Kulve weapons. Some of those have over 600 elemental damage. I don't think augmented gear is a neccesity like so many are saying.
With augmented gear he clears this. He has no issues with the horns and he gets at least 1 or 2 pwoer staggers. With that small increase in defence and regen on his GS so he doesn't need to heal as much, he gets it. SHame he doesn't google how to Augment (not that it's a particularly quick thing to do)
U got a Good level now, dude we all had regen on our weapon when Alatreon was out! If you have regen on your sword this fight would be piece of cake so don’t be angry u got this
He got pretty close a few times. If he would use more of the game mechanics (sleep status from palico, smoke bombs/flash for flying phase, wall bangs etc.) he would have killed it by now. But I guess the dragon dies in the next session.
You have nearly full control of your palico. If the boss is fighting your palico and you need him to come to you, like with the health booster area, then you can use the signal option on your radial menu to call the palico to your location.
some small advice: 1.since you want to solo it you don't really need to use element weapon, you can eat the cat food that give you one more life "Felyne Insurance", so you can take 3 dps check and you may have time to kill it without element weapon. 2.maybe don't use "Rocksteady Mantle" before you get weapon health regen augmentation, Rocksteady Mantle let you finish TCS but you just die before TCS actually hit, "Temporal Mantle" would be better I think at least you survive, I think change to Velkhana γ set would be better. 3.need to learn how to use slinger burst to readjust the TCS direction, wall banging not really matter that much in this quest but still better than nothing. 4. spent some more time farming grinding land and raise your MR, Arch Tempered VELKHANA and Day of Ruin both need MR100 to play one to get Velkhana γ set one to get more Sealed Feystones and farming grinding land give you the material for augmentation. asmon is getting better and better, don't give up you can do this Fatalis still waiting.
This is the exact build I used , and probably took me somewhere around 20 tries to get it. You really just have to get used to his attacks and the timings to beat the fight. Clutch claw the head on the aerial ice breath is key to.
Hes breaking the horns, surviving the escatons. He just messed up a few times at the end being hit by the normal attacks. Hes got a real good chance of beating him next time.
I feel like if Asmon learn the timing a bit better he will totally wreck this boss. Like he get in a good position most of the time just to be greedy for the lv3 TCS that he completely whiffed while it would have been a good hit otherwise with a lv1 or lv2 strong. Remember, a strong hit doesn't mean anything if it didn't land
I would love to see him just use the frost craft draw attacks but he’ll just play how he wants. He’s had 6 hours of alatreon experience but still get hit by telegraphed attacks, if he had more evade window I’m sure he would be able to unga bunga the boss by now. He is stubborn but I do enjoy watching him fight in his own way.
Has any Fromsoft game boss or hell, any boss from any game given him this much trouble before where he still hasn't beaten the boss over multiple streams and many hours?
To be fair what kill him the most wasn't the fire on the ground but using rockteady mantle. Getting knocked down by an attack at least protects you for the multihits that rocksteady doesnt save you from
A lot of progress I feel that you will kill it soon. It's faster to heal by using max potion, you can carry 2 and carry enough to craft 5 extra more. Since it heals faster you go back to dps faster too. Try it!
Its honorable to think Alatreon will either make him a better hunter or descend into hopelessness 😅 either way he definitely will never forget Alatreon ever and will have feelings if he returns in Wilds 😂
Somebody needs to tell him about the Health Augment. The lifesteal from GS hits will massively help his playstyle. But it's already impressive that he's close to beating Alatreon without it. I hope he doesn't give up.
Small tip for anyone struggling, bring 10 mandragora and 5 mega nutrients for Alatreon/Fatalis. You want to use max potions to top off in emergencies instead of slowly chugging mega potions and waiting to get hit/missing openings. They're the 2 hardest fights by far and you aren't gonna keep your mats for the next title release xD Other than that he's so close to beating it.
It’s breaking him. He’s going to make his villain arc soon.

@@etukekv4073 No need to be an ass about it though. In my day you got beaten for that.
He need to do 3 things he'll improve a lot and win this fight:
1. Pick up those damn pebbles and learn to skip to True Charged Slash!
2. Tenderize to fully make use of Weakness exploit.
3. Craft and use Max potions mid battle instead of Mega, will save A LOT of healing time for more attack
tenderizing in this case might not be the best idea since it does not make a difference on the elemental cap, what he need to learn mostly is focusing only on the front arms in fire mode and horns on dragon mode
or you know life steal on weapon skill
- dont forget smoke bomb/flash pods for when alatreon is flying.
- health augment
- focus decos
and wallbangs.
You really don’t need to do the guiding lands. Just have a decent elemental weapon and go crazy

He consistently weakens the judgement and breaks the horns. He just have to reduce random deaths. Some deaths are unavoidable like some "forced" judgement deaths, when Alatreon doesn't have anymore horns to be broken and changes to opposing element
Like the attempt which failed at around 1:41:05, he totally could have clutched it out if he didnt die right there

Main points as I reckon he can beat him
1. Eat for insurance/moxie as then you get another life
2. Stop relying on that mantle, its a decent mantle but also gets you killed often
3. BRING HONEY TO CRAFT MORE MEGAS
4. Learn how to wall bang(its a free 1k+ dmg and a topple)
the refusal to learn about the wall bang even after seeing it used in videos astounds me honestly.
Watching a new hunter's progress and growth is the most satisfying content this game can offer, prove me wrong.
Lmfao nah
Honestly, he's almost there. Maybe with fash pods and armor seeds next time? You gotta use every advantage for this one.
That was 2 rough hours.
him dying withing the first 3 mins is the most hilarious sht ive seen after all this showing off with his gear xd
He's doing great, imagine if he incorporated some wall bangs & flashing him out of the air. It would give him that confidence boost I think.
Very easy to avoid
5 Alatreon does a fire attack on the ground similar to the aoe one, but it looks like a Y this time.
With some exceptions
someone needs to tell asmon about felyne insurance and felyne safegaurd
He wouldn't listen anyway.

Health augment for bariath weapon id pretty easy to get, just need forest lvl 6 at mr 70.
He still had about 25%
Looks like he is finally hitting the "I actually need to learn how to play this game" wall!
Just wait for AT Valk!
"I don't need good gear if i don't get hit" not with this one
He is VERY close now. Nice effort and perseverance I might say.
The problem is dealing damage to actually kill him. The juggle on elemental attack and raw is the challenge
he survived escatons, alatreon alr as good as dead
33:05 the first time that Asmongold passed the element dps-check (and here him surviving the respective nova/judgement: 37:50).
41:33 what carted him here is Alatreon's stomp attack, where it slams the ground 2-3 times in a row.
50:50 dps-check clear
01:01:45 dps check clear
01:11:40 cat OP, dps check clear. Both horns broken, making progress!
01:19:10 dps check clear
01:25:30 dps check clear
01:41:00 rip, that was a really good run.
01:47:20 dps check clear
01:52:00 dps check clear
01:57:30 dps check clear
02:02:30 rip.
Recommend people just watch the first and last 5 minutes of this video, it's all you need to see
There is alot of inefficiency he is making which makes the less stressful. GS has high learning curve.
1. He needs to do the TCS skip
2. He needs to stop charging too much (committing too much knowing that he doesn’t know what alatreon will do next). He needs to charge his first attack more often.
3. He needs health augment
4. He needs to auto craft max potion
5. He needs to learn Alatreon moves further.
seriously that skip will be so good for asmon, especially for his over-commitment for TCS
In terms of gameplay he's completely fine. The only reason he didn't beat the boss is his gear.
He lacks the endgame equipment improvements made available for endgame players to beat these endgame bosses.
Sadly he'll have to try and fail many more times until the gameplay compensates the lack of gear.
Yeah you bring up a very good point, when he gets to the point of not dying at all, is when he can confidently beat it with his current gear.
Augments would prolly made him kill Ala, but I do think we has lots of stuff we can clean os his gameplay.
Now we wait for Fatalis...
u should be able to do this blind folded
There's no need for augmented gear. I did it with the safijiva/Kulve weapons. Some of those have over 600 elemental damage. I don't think augmented gear is a neccesity like so many are saying.
It is needed unless you're at the top of your game which he isn't.
@@Nikki-cb5znaugment gear isn’t going to help him get to the “top of his game” it’s just going to be a crutch.
One that won’t see him through Fatalis.
Last attempt was absolutely amazing. Dude
With augmented gear he clears this. He has no issues with the horns and he gets at least 1 or 2 pwoer staggers. With that small increase in defence and regen on his GS so he doesn't need to heal as much, he gets it. SHame he doesn't google how to Augment (not that it's a particularly quick thing to do)
I love how his constant mantra in this game is "I can't learn."
If the boss is fighting your palico and you need him to come to you, like with the health booster area, then you can use the signal option on your radial menu to call the palico to your location.
some small advice:
1.since you want to solo it you don't really need to use element weapon, you can eat the cat food that give you one more life "Felyne Insurance", so you can take 3 dps check and you may have time to kill it without element weapon.
He pretty much had it in the last 2 tries. It's a massive progress from where he left it earlier but still not quite there yet.
Most weapon swings inflict an X amount of exhaust damage to monsters, perhaps splashing exhaust gems could help even a little
So glad he is still pushing this to the end!
Is he MR100 yet? If so he needs to do guiding lands and get that health augment asap, it'll make his life so much better.
Only one thing needs to change, he sometimes goes right past the head to hit the legs on attack windows, try hitting the head more and you will win.
Your positioning and timing was perfect in places. Very impressive.
You know the monstie hunty good when he keeps coming back
Asmon definitely leveled up, he has gotten much better.
somebody please just teach him how to use frostcraft properly, I swear it makes me wanna tear my hair off and go bald like him 😂😂😂😂
To be fair what kill him the most wasn't the fire on the ground but using rockteady mantle.
You can do it brother. Been rooting for you this whole time. I'm not the only one who believes in you. That last attempt would have been it.
Wasting so much time in the health boosters and zero tenderising is why he failed that run
you're making an incredible progress my man, so proud of you. panic just eats the best of you later in the fight every time. you've got this
nah fatalis gon be crazy...
