Just got one identical to your P121G delivered. I also have the 801 and 108 (in Black). I’m 70 years old and I’ve owned and used knives from the best makers out there and I also made Nordic knives for years. Aside from the “for the money” aspect...these are among the best made and nicest handling folders I’ve ever seen. I’m totally blown away. Ruike is doing it right. REALLY right!
Got my TwoSun Tanto and unlike the one you reviewed it has jimping on the flip tab. It seems like they have done some improvements. The 2 screws on the lock bar also seem different they are flush. I love it. Glade I saw your review and got it.
I don't know how you do it but your opening scenes. Every new one is better than the last. Great work, I'm glad that you don't take this hobby too seriously. Thanks for the great vid's.
immediatly ordered one after seeing this video, I'm from Holland so most knives are way overpriced over here, but it was €40 or about $45 wich is not crazily overpriced because some knives are twice as expensive over here, like zt's. but what an awesome budgetknife, very clean and classy imo! nice review too, I'm new to your channel and you def deserved my sub
I know this is an old video at this point, but this thing really is still my favorite under $75ish. In the past year we've been going through the Chinese d-2, g10 revolution in relatively the same price point. (35-65) I still like this one the best. 14c28n is absolutely more useful to me at least. I hear the similarities to Real Steel are more because they might both me made by Sanrenmu. So while they aren't related business-wise, they're sharing some roots. Anyway. Whatever. I dig this thing.
Hey I know this is an old video, but was hoping you could answer a question for me. I bought this knife half a year ago and I find it's a bit dull, would you recommend a king stone to sharpen this? I use it as an everyday carry knife around the shop etc. The blade is also a little loose. I don't want to over tighten the torx head on this. You seem to know a lot so thought you could fill me in on the best way to care for and improve the quality
Just got mine yesterday, very nice for the price. Smooth out of the box, centered. Only thing I needed to do was sand the edges of the g10 scales to smooth it out a little. Looks like I'll be carrying this one for a while.
The website says it is pronounced as rake. I also own this one, and love it. It seems difficult to sharpen for me, as the thickness changes from hilt to tip. Any advice?
Thing is, these guys are doing these fantastic frame or liner lock knives, with decent steels and ball bearings for >$40, while Kershaw is still doing assisted speed safe knives for twice that. KAI needs to decide Kershaw's positioning scheme real soon - while not cannibalizing ZT.
slidetek And then you also have Ganzo,Sanrenmu and Enlan at even lower price points. With quality at equal to better than many of the CRKT,Gerber and Kershaw knives.... including more creative designs....
but at least Ruike aren't cloning (unlike those other companies you mention) and make their own designs. I love Ruike knives and have just about every model I can get, but just wish they would step up into the premium steel/titanium market, I would love to see a few of the newer models (in particular the P128, P135 and P841) revamped in high end materials while maintaining Ruike's fit and finish quality and pricing.
@@skillmaster2255 had a few Kizer's and to be honest I wasn't impressed. Of the 5 models I have owned only 2 of them were great straight out of the box. The Kesmec and Mjölnir were great but the others (Splinter, Kyre and Dukes, all bladesmith versions) had issues (sharp edges, pocket clips that didn't work properly) Not a great percentage if you look at it. I honestly prefer Reate, WE and Real Steel (S class)
@@waveman0 I'm surprised by that. I bought three Dukes flippers, and all three were terrific. I bought some Ganzos too which are usually good, but I had one with a bent blade. QC issue, I guess.
I really like to see competition in the budget market that is available in the states and original designs to boot. It would be great to see Ruike make aluminum handled variants for a few bucks more.
I completely understand your reaction. I picked up the black version in a package deal with the 801, which was the one I really wanted. But the 121 took me by surprise. I absolutely love it and carry it more than the 801. The 801 is more elegant, but for pure everyday user-friendliness, the 121 is the winner. It's better in the cold weather and for clean up.
LTK, I’m looking at the deep carry clip on the 121p..and ask my self..where have I seen this clip before?? And I think yes the Ganzo FH -41....identical...is this where the Ganzo Firebirds new stuff also being made.hmmm.they really look related..
Nice video. Very solid knife all the way. Everything I see on Ruike knives is very positive. I was thinking the other day that the Ruike & Real Steel must have the same mother the way they are bult. Now I see you had the same thought.
I just got mine. The blade sits all the way to one side, away from the liner lock and resting on the liner. I'm wondering if I should fix it (if I can?) , send it back or live with it. It doesn't affect anything. It's a bit bothersome in that all the reviewers say theirs is centered. Update: I found this on Ruike's website "Please note that blade centering on folding knives is not considered a defect". I have seen people suggest the retailer open the package and check for good centering etc before shipping. Maybe I should have done that in the notes section of my online order. Also I saw someone suggest pencil graphite on the liner lock for easier unlocking and I did that and it works well. Thanks to for that comment. Any sugg estions on me centering the blade myself are appreciated. It seems the pressure from the liner lock in closed position may be part of the reason for pushing it over?
It's rake. Love my p801. Like this one just wish it had some thumb jimping. Might pick one up anyway for that price. Same league as real steel. The flying shark is one of my favorites. So much so I went and got the h9 takin.
HI LTK ! I would like your advice considering the Ruike p121 and the Bestech scimitar ! I am on a budget and I was asking myself if the p121 could do a good edc and outdoor stuff ? I know the Scimitar has better steel and is bigger but it's 20 bucks over. So LTK , can the p121 be a good alternative ? Thanks again for all the effort and time you give to us viewers.
Swatter I absolutely love the Ruike P121. It’s a great knife so I wouldn’t hesitate to get it. I can’t seem to keep on in my collection. People keep buying mine up.
the P121 is worth every cent, buy one you won't be disappointed. I have both the green and black version and both are of equal quality, and you get a lot more quality for what you pay for with any Ruike knife.
I subbed to your channel. Nice review on this knife. I wish I had seen this review before I got my Spyderco Delica 4. I'm pretty new to collecting so I'm still learning quite a bit. There's so much hype on Spyderco I couldn't help but go that direction plus the hole for opening the knife looked appealing, but I am unimpressed. I had to do some modification to make the knife more enjoyable to open, for one, the hole cutout was very rough, sharp corners, and had nasty spiraling from when it was bored out. The pivot was very tight making deployment a pain. When pulling on the blade from the handle there is a slight drag and grind feeling, as if the metal was not machined properly or smooth enough. For $68 I feel ripped off...WAY too much imo. Theres no way I'm gonna daily carry this knife, I don't feel like I should have to modify something to make it work better right out of the box. I'll try this flipper next and see what happens. For the price their asking on these I could have got two of them in different colors.
Ruike was started by Fenix flashlights - so the only ties to Real Steel if there are any would be they manufacture there, same as Reate, Rike and WE do for so many. I tend to doubt that since Fenix must have their own machining in place after all these years. They have a product design log-in on their website, so I'm leaning Fenix does the Mfg., not Real Steel. But the whole Chinese manufacturing thing is incredibly incestuous.
I agree Real steel is the manufacture, real steel has a new fixed blade(forgot model) and the new belt clip on sheath is the exact same swivel design. not your mention every aspect of the machine work is identical, time will tell.
both Real Steel and Ruike claim independence from each other, both insist they are separate entities. I personally believe they are separate and competing companies. Either way I love both companies knives and in particular the RSK "S" series of knives.

Ok guys this is seriously just ridiculous how much of a quality knife you get for the price, I just got mine today and I want more! Great review
A truly elegant and mature knife, nothing at all to be ashamed of owning! Thanks for your nice review on this knife.
I'm really liking the ruike knives

One of my favorite budget flippers butter smooth.
great video. I like most of the ruike designs.
I like that blade profile, A LOT!
Gotta get one!

Luv them Ruike knives :)
Keep up the great work LTK! Always seem to come check your reviews before buying a blade, especially those not made in the USA. Good stuff...Thanks
The flashlight co Fenix owns Ruike knives. In my book, that's a good thing. I own about 8 Fenix flashlights and all have been excellent..
Just purchased one. Really liking this knife myself.
Good value knives, these Ruikes. The Fang is pretty good too...
Good review. Just ordered one. That Allah akbar comment had me dying... Thanks. New sub here.
I got one also with the green handle. I think I'm getting the black one too.
That's a lot for $35. Really nice looking knife. I'm one of the few that doesn't like flippers so it saves me some money.

David Mayle I really like mine as well.

I agree with everything you've said. Enjoyed your review too.
Jack Berry Thanks for watching.

Charles Collier Amen brother. Just a great knife and a great value.
Do you know if the detent on this knife is adjustable?

I have the p105,p108,and p128. Quality and affordable. :) by the by, it is "rake".
ruike is the sleeper brand of the decade. incredible value. kizer is another similasr brand.
Green or black? hard choice..
Sir Fed black. Wears better.

Steve Kushman I saw another reviewer from Australia speculate that they had a common manufacturing source. But I really don't know for sure.

srg914 I've got the Takin as well. This Ruike is super nice. You're gonna love it.
Cool knife

Harry Wright I like the 121 better all around
I have both and can't go wrong with either one

Autant Enthousiaste !!! 😃
Might try this one out.
i modded a finger choil into mune and it works absolutely perfectly
Where does one buy this knife?
DutchClawz Anywhere that you want. BladeHQ has it.
Just me or does the Bestech Paladin look ALOT like this knife?
Mitcheltron Yeah. It does look similar. Good eye !
I almost bought the bestech at a store and then compared it in hand to the ruike and the ruike was wayyy better and $20 cheaper.
SWEET!
even better, the P128. Please review it !
Hugues D I will. I've got it on my list.
I bought one....nice
i just ordered it!
Serious question: why would Real Steel jeopardize their sales and their business by selling a cheaper product of comparable or better quality?
Same factory, two different companies - more plausible IMO.
Ruike was started by Fenix flashlights - so the only ties to Real Steel if there are any would be they manufacture there, same as Reate, Rike and WE do for so many. slidetek Good point, but of course Ruger and HK had their knives outsourced and they have manufacturing facilities of their own. It's a puzzlement!
I agree Real steel is the manufacture, real steel has a new fixed blade(forgot model) and the new belt clip on sheath is the exact same swivel design. not your mention every aspect of the machine work is identical, time will tell.

Ganzo FH11 anyone? What say you LTK? Are they brothers from Chinese mothers?
mcnameva Absolutely my brother !! It’s ridiculous how much you get for your money these days !!
LOOl i love his voice
The G stands for G-10 handle.
Anytime
I googled the pronunciation of the spelling and google pronounced "rooik"
WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK WAS THAT INTRO??????
LOL, I don't mean to offend you, great video btw. That opening scene caught me off guard though XD
