- Video of Airmen from the the 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron helping a U-2 pilot into a full-pressure suit at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia.
The Lockheed U-2, nicknamed "Dragon Lady", is a single-engine, ultra-high altitude reconnaissance aircraft operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) and previously flown by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). It provides day and night, very high-altitude (70,000 feet / 21,000 m), all-weather intelligence gathering. -en.wikipedia.or...

Just when I was thinking "They should have a special chair for that"....They pulled out the throne. I like how the other guy in the background was just chillaxing with his visor down.
At 2:05 I love how the other guy is just chillin' in the chair.
That's actually an empty suit
@@KnoxSUX Then must been a ghost. At 8:03 you can see the helm moves.
@@dirtbikerswe1979 I was like "wtf i thought that was a dummy"
As they first put the suit on, talk about looking like you're diving into your work! Wow.
I would love to try this it looks so awesome
Thank God Their PT belts where on to save their asses !!
the guy in the back is chill as fuck
"umm, guys.... I have to pee."
What?
less glamorous fact: they wear diapers.
There's a condom basically that fits over their member and has a tube that goes down the leg to a bag with a dehydrated sponge. Called a piddle pack.
That pilot looks like he got the shit beat out of him in a fight
What are the metal "straps" that go under his boots?
@AlexEssex8, they are called Ejection Seat Spurs. Cables are attached the spurs.
Upon an ejection sequence, cables draw the boots into the seat to prevent injury.

Четко 👍🏻🚀
So what are the yellow belts for? And what is the strap on the guy's left arm at 4:51??
the yellow belts are reflective belts for safety purposes. The strap on his arm is show he can display identification.
А у нас есть такие летчики и скафандры?
That’s sexy gear
he doesn't look happy or comfortable in that suit ...
The other guys getting depressurized
He’ll nahhh
Will someone please help me with this? ...
By NASA's own declaration, the pressure necessary inside a space suit is around 4psi - that's about 7x greater than the 0.6 psi needed in an air mattress above surrounding pressure to achieve adequate firmness.
In the perfect vacuum of space, wouldn't the space suit look like the Michelin Man and make it almost impossible to move limbs in order to walk and articulate arms. Whenever we see video footage of EVA the suits of astronauts are wrinkled.
Watch this NASA video where a pressurized suit tech explains and demonstrates what is used with pilots flying at 65,000 ft and notice how rigid the suit becomes when pressurized!

Look how inflated his suit is
