Relaxing The Binding Of Isaac Music To Feel Safe To

- That was my first mix, so feel free to comment on tracks I've missed (I'm sure there are some)
I don't own the music, all credit goes to Danny Baranowski, Ridiculon, mudeth for the OST and Edmund McMillen for the game. Happy Anniversary, Isaac!

But I searched calm tboi music lol
@@supascaleslmao i searched the same thing
Funny how the death screens usually have the most calming music in Isaac OSTs.
If not for the fact that whenever i hear death screen music, i feel some kind of anxiety and sense of failing (for obvious reasons) then yea, it would definitely be a music to feel safe to.
Its a music to feel safe, cuz you are already dead, and you can rest
It's almost as if they're telling the player it's ok that they died and to just relax regardless of the mistake or unfairness that led to their death
@@GuardOfWhiterun It's actually because... (Spoilers below)
Isaac feels relief at dying, all of his regrets and worries fade away and he disassociates by imagining himself ascending to Heaven, living happily with his family, regardless of the fact that he's dying locked in his toy chest, his decomposing body eventually found by his grieving mother . The game is filled with suicidal idolization and the endings and death screens are no different.
I love the Flash Isaac menu theme and also the one of the Greed Shop. Made me feel like I was playing an upgraded arcade game. Also the Tomes theme was very relaxing to me because it was like Isaac coming to peace with all the memories he had in that chest

"fuckin mars again?!"

@@TheMonsoon yea, but accidental dashes into random shid, the i-frames sometimes just don't protect you from that
I feel like a kid again who can just hide under the bedsheet hoping that all
evil will go away. I've lost that feeling long ago but these songs bring me back..
personally i feel like "Home" is my favourite track, there's just something so beautiful about it's eerie calmness, like, you're here now, you're back in "reality"
home is such a perfect track for its setting
so much finality, sadness, guilt and peace fit into a track and area
Oh the nostalgia i love this.
My Favorite is definetly stargazer, the beautiful music in a beautiful room is really great, and i also generally like space.
I'm used to listening to the repentance/antibirth ost cuz I'm addicted to playing
But the OG flash isaac ost hits VERY different
So many feelings, I remember just staring at the main menu just listening, I love the way it starts, and don't even get me started on Tomes
Danny's soundtrack hits harder than a Brimstone in vanilla.
more like harder than a brimsnap in flash
@@goosiefel Brinsnap?
@@The_D_ray ya know, brimsnapping in flash Isaac? Basically triples your damage with brimstone?
@@goosiefel Ooooh... yeah now I got what you meant.
Sorry but I never knew it had a name, I always called it "the brimstone exploit".
@@The_D_ray thats fair but your welcome for the descovery lmao, hope you have a lovely day
28:08 YOOO THIS SONG GOES HARD
i love peace be with you because it reminds me of my old gamecube days back in 2016, just the tune, and especially the sounds that were used to make the tune
Songs to suffocate in a toy chest too
42:37 is genuinely one of the most heart wrenching songs from the Antibirth OST imo. ive always adored it. It reminds me of the sense of feeling truly alone, reminiscing on mistakes, poor choices, bad decisions all of which got you to where you stand now.
Honestly, I've found this is the perfect video to play in the background while playing Four Souls. Gets you in the mood but it isn't too intense.
I think you should have added the Cathedral theme music from Rebirth, very soothing music with the choir in the background...
also cathedral theme from antibirth is amazing
I personally find it very judgmental and condescending.
Like it sounds like you're approaching your ultimate demise.
the first 2 tracks had such a great fade in
I am going to say off the bat that I like all three OSTs and am for one really happy that Edmund decided to get Ridiculon on board for Repentance because we got even more sick tracks that way, but nothing hits me as hard as the original title screen. There is a fair bit of nostalgia involved with it for sure, but I like how subtle and calm and - I don't want to say simplistic because that sounds like an insult but I don't know how else to say it - it is in comparison to Descent and Genesis (which I both adore).
Rebirth's Genesis feels different compared to Repentance's Genesis. I'm not sure what it is but Rebirth's gives me a feeling of triumph and hope.
For some reason i feel more nostalgic to mudeth's ost instead of the flash one
You can describe both Undertale and the Binding of Isaac as "A small child falls into a mysterious underground area filled with monsters that intend to harm them"
Though in one you're Jesus and in the other you're the doom slayer.
Actually, in one you choose between Jesus and Doomslayer.
In the other....You just want to go Home.
also you get to carry a knife
If you count the pacifist seed in TBoI you get to choose to be either in both.
Otherwise, you're a child that fell into an underground area with monsters that intend to harm you... you get to find a knife, you fight demons, angels, and try to make sense of everything as you go.
One child just wants to go home.
One child wants to prove they're stronger than everyone says they are.
One is a messiah of sorts, and another brings the downfall unto whom intends to harm them or seek to bring this downfall unto those they seek harm upon.
Indie games can get deep, man.
@@lillythegirlscout6088 First of all, i love this comment, second of all, Indie games really can get deep, to a level were AAA devs will never get to simply because, although their games can be good,as in being fun experiences, they'll never be deep, because they don't have the same freedom regarding what they can or can't develop as Indie devs do, glory to Indie devs.
Third, the most horrifying part of Isaac just wanting to go home is that... Well, The actual game is Isaac's imagination, influenced by the religious zeal passed onto him by his mother, he wants to go home in a more metaphorical sense, he wants to live in the time where his family wasn't torn apar... Sadly though that never happened, and Isaac died by accidental suicide, believing he was a rotten being full of sin and evil... Poor child.
Stuff like this is why I love Indie games
@@dementiagaming726 Honestly, same here.
I love that Indie games exist for that kind of purpose, too. Telling a story that never truly gets old. Someone always discovers something new or talks about something that's never fully clear considering the context to the respective story, then puts the pieces to it to make it part of a larger picture.
Dad's Lost Coin is meant to be Isaac's Dad's sobriety coin, as an example, meaning he recovered from being drunk. This is further confirmed during the Ascent when his mom said "you're drunk again, aren't you," implying his dad "lost" his coin from turning back to alcohol.
As for Isaac, hes only a kid, he never knew that everything around him wasnt his fault. He died thinking he was a rotten/sinful child because he never truly understood he was just born into a rotten situation.
i came back here every time i need to study, ty
OG isaac music it's so good
really nice mashup to listen to while building some lego sets!
same, I also lost my legos so gg to this man
God. I still don't think anything will ever beat Tomes. Getting ending 13 originally back in the day, and hearing that every time... I couldn't help but listen to it. I'd go out of my way to unlock libraries just to hear that song early, just for a little bit, because wins didn't come by as easily in Flash isaac.
Thanks for putting this together. It’s always crazy to me how good video game music can be. Like, the main focus is the gameplay, not the music, but they still put their all into the music and it shows. ❤
Hell yeah, a nice lineup of all the soothing melodies!
I've been listening to this on loop almost religiously every day while I study, great stuff, sent to my friends and they liked it too
Brings back memories of when I played this on a school computer back in middle school
gosh...how much do I love this playlist. It feels like a blessing to find such thing, I'm so glad UA-cam recommended this to me cause myself alone. I would never had found all this amazing ost's
despite playing the game myself.

thx for this mixtape, i play isaac since 5 years, flash version music has very nostalgic vibes (sry for bad english)
I need this
oh my god this is beautiful
even though i never played the original TBOI, the track simply titled "The Binding of Isaac" feels so nostalgic or like understanding? like somebody is comforting you and recognizes you're hurt, which is ironic cuz the actual story here goes totally the other way around. This track is rally good at doing the thing the story never allows Isaac to feel.
Carrion (Corpse) is pretty chill.
While editing, I’d find a secret room and chill, just to listen to Respite
Thank you
Unironically a great mix
Cheers
I've played this game since I was 6 years old, and when the game was still browser-based. listening to these songs brought me nostalgia and sadness, I miss when everything was so much simpler. definitely one of my favorite games, i bought repentance on the release date lol
