      Won't hurt it. Splash lube is 2 stroke's specialty. If any did get by the rings, it'd burn clean.

I would love to see you do at home and make a Moto version of this bike with that motor in it. All done up real snazzy done to the nights for efficiency for long duration and fun. My prof at small engine course in college did 25 years ago, it was a 3hp, port polish valve seat work, decked the block to increase compression, a motorcycle carb, and a funnel looking exhaust. Don’t remember exactly how much hp it put out but around double so 5+ longevity wouldn’t be what red beard etc are building with AM parts but it was cool back in the day B)

    I never knew that it was dangerous bypassing the governor! I just thought that it was risking the engine not lasting. I’m thankful to God for looking after this old fool because my daughter and I made so many great memories on a go cart that I added a “joy button” to! It was just a lever that forced throttle to go beyond the governed limit but it was so fun! An older 70’s go cart with the 3hp motor replaced by a 13hp would carry the two of us fast enough to make our eyes water and our butts vibrate! We laughed so much! Now I am turning 56 and she has given me two beautiful grandkids and we are all best friends. 🙏🤗❤😂

    If its possible to beef up that dyno, I'd love to see the big blocks get ther day. So either the Predator 301, 420, Duromax 440, etc that would be great. I know you said the dyno isnt strong enough to do those, but I hope the later series could take on the big blocks.
    If not, maybe take the old standards the Honda Gx160 and GX200 and see what those can pump out.

      Think he might need a different dyno. I'm sure they make a dyno that will cover the entire range but probably more expensive than the one he has. Would love to have one myself.

  • @Jasonkartracing
    @Jasonkartracing 10 місяців тому +1

    In the past little over a year I have built several of these engines. What I’ve learned is from your videos. My last build I just finished a couple weeks ago I bought a Predator Max 224 it was on sale for around 140.00 I did the plus .020 billet rod that came clearance for the 224 but I still had to work on the block but it wasn’t a lot, the dipper barley touched the front of the block and the rod touched the top of the sleeve. The cam didn’t need any work cause it was for the 224. The cam I used was the 308 lift, flattop piston, stock head that I did a little porting and I shaved the head I don’t know how much but it was a lot, stainless valves, the spring pockets cut out for 36pd springs, aluminum push rods, PVL flywheel and a Ducar carb that I took apart and drilled and smoothed out the smallest part of the carb is where the butterfly is it’s larger than a .690 carb. I contacted an engine builder and got a complete carb build kit. I broke it in by letting it run to temperature a few times changed the oil and let it run through a tank over 30 min. Watching your videos has helped alot.

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 10 місяців тому

      How well does it run with the bored carb and all that? I didn't go that far with a cam but my 224 runs well with a bored carb in my RPM range. Mine ended up around .670.
      If you run a lot of RPM you would want a Mikuni flat slide with that cam.

    • @Jasonkartracing
      @Jasonkartracing 10 місяців тому +1

      @@Deucealive75 I can’t run a Mikuni I run that kart in the stock appearing class which means the motor has to look stock except for exhaust and air filter. My throttle shaft is filed down with a thin butterfly and I removed the choke. I contacted an engine builder told him what I had and he put together a carb kit a lowside epa jet, main jet, emulsion tube and inlet needle so it took away from having to guess. It revs just like a .22 carb would. Where the butterfly is on my carb the shinny part on the inside is the smallest part of the carb. Bigger though isn’t always better if I had a stock head motor mod2 cam 18pd springs a stock carb with a good jet and aftermarket air filter would be plenty.

    One very simple upgrade would be to replace the screw that connects the "butterfly" of the carburetor to the rod by a counter sunk screw. The big screw that comes with this carb is pretty beeffy and robs a lot of air flow.

      @@RedBeardsGarage I have a question unrelated to your video if you don’t mind helping me out. I have a manco streaker mini bike and plan on buying a Coleman minibike tomorrow and doing a engine swap from the manco to the coleman. The manco has 60 tooth rear
      sprocket and 5 inch tire. My mods are Billet flywheel
      18lb valve springs and I bought a carburetor off OMB
      Warehouse that says race-ready carb rejected. I'm
      topping out at 43 mph and I'm trying to gain around
      another 10 mph. By doing a engine swap and transferring everything to the Coleman will I gain speed due to tire size or will I lose speed due to the weight difference.

    Id like to see 22chikuni next, then fool with timing using 93 pump gas, then a moderate cam - all dynoed in steps. Then a moderate port job of stock head. I'm under the impression that wildcats have more valve angle than any of the others and have nice machining of bowl area too!. They look like a good head to me but others on here seem to disagree. Lets find out!

    I’m happy to see some more wildcat. I wanna see some big bore small block building. That’s personally what I’m most interested in and what I do myself personally. However I’m very patient because I don’t get a bike and immediately ride it and then incrementally upgrade things one at a time. I buy a bike and I don’t do anything until I have every part I want to use and spend a lot of time thinking it all out and then build it. So when you do modify things you have a plan and don’t just do something because it sounds good at the time

      There shouldn't be much difference between brands. He's not going to do that anyway because they are trying to sell Amsoil. Similarly, he's not going to test the Ducar 224 because he's picked the wildcat.
      For oil I'd like to see different viscosities including as thin as 5W20. The break in oil is SAE30. Any thinner oil after that is going to get more power. And is he dynoing cold engines? They would get more power fully warmed up when the oil is thinner than it is when cold.
