It's nothing surprising to say that some of the Met's early songs had a death-y feel to them, and very well could have worked as full DM songs, especially Fight Fire With Fire.
What a nonsense. However death metal and some relentless thrash metal sound similar at times. And of course everything can be just made into death metal 😂😂

With that deep bass and over all delivery it reminded me of Hammer Smashed Face by CC ! But Blackened was always a gem by Metallica that didn't get played live much live to my knowledge . Killer to hear it with a deathy twist here as well . Great job as always , fun stuff .

the vocals sound similar to Tomi Koivusaari of Amorphis (specially the album The Karelian Isthmus). the guitars are too thin sounding to remind me of any death metal bands.
I'm not gonna lie. This is a DAMN impressive feat! Since hearing this for the first time, I haven't been able to go back and listen to the original album yet, and that's saying a lot. Metallica is the band that tempted me away from hardcore punk rock back in 1987. Before that, metal, in my mind, was basically shit like Manowar and Krokus. One of buddies in Jr. High School caught me at lunch, put a cassette tape in my hands, and said "We HAVE to break you if listening to that punk shit. Take this home and listen to it. It was Master Of Puppets, and it was the first step in a long journey that has made me a long time devotee, and player of the more extreme fringes of metal over the decades, and brought me to my ultimate love, Black Metal (Watain, Mgla, Emperor, ect.). With that in mind, I would like to issue a challenge to you. Since you already took this album and made it some of the best Death Metal I've heard since the second Malevolent Creation album, let's see how you manage with merging two of my favorite things. Let's here the entire Master Of Puppets album as an atmospheric Black Metal album

The best aspect of this cover is not the death metal, it's the fact we can hear the bass, finally!

Sounds more like early Unleashed than anything. The production is Where no Life Dwells almost down to a tee, even the vocals.
