Just to add another positive comment - this is exactly what I like to find when I'm looking for this kind of video. Short and packed with useful information. I'd rip my hair out when I have to watch someone for 30-90 minutes explaining how to craft each and every single block and item in a mod - that's what JEI/NEI is for! This was super nice to watch. Keep going and stick to this kind of format. Have a nice day!
Came here to say this. It's refreshing to see a youtuber assume we're not total noobs and we know how the basic functions of FTB works, we just needed to know the finer points of how to start basic autocrafting. Short, simple, to-the-point information without a bunch of unnecessary tangents. Good job, Superturtle!
With like 5 minutes of opening chatter vaguely alluding to what the mod does. I like let's plays when I'm looking for let's plays. When I'm looking for a tutorial, I appreciate brevity. This video is fantastic.
Thank you, my goal was to have the you guys understand it as quick as possible so that you can get back to playing modded... While watching my other vid's of course ;)
Shocked this video doesn't have more views to be honest, very helpful and one of the most simplest tutorials ive ever used!! Thank you for doing this!!! Literally always avoided using this mod as it looked so complicated but actually its super easy and simple, you have opened my eyes
Lyam Wood well that was the goal with these types of videos, who wants to spend 30minutes watching a video just to learn the basics. I figured I could teach the basics and let the viewer get everything setup that they need and then experiment a little. That’s what’s fun about modded!
This video has provided my "framily" server with a GREAT storage system!! Thank you for the quick/easy format, and here I am over 2 years later using this info still. You're great man! Easy like/sub.
Thanks so much! I just started playing modded minecraft. I love that you put so much info into a short time. I don't care for videos that show me every little bit and crafting recipe, because that's all integrated
its incredible how you explained everything in 10 minutes while other videos have 20+ mins with multiple parts. it makes me want to jump pack to the game and start messing with mods :)
You Mister Superturtle are amazing even after 7 years of playing modded i still cant figure stuff out but u made it easy and super helpfull thank you Sir u we are proud of you
Dude wow I just realized this was you after watching this video many times. Still dont get why ur not at least 50k subs cuz this is one of the most popular RS tutorials
I was confused on how the importers and exporters worked, but I picked up on the fact that it has to be hooked up to the GRID in order for the items to be exported, not the disk drives! 😔 Anyways, the basics is all I need to know, and you provided. Definitely worth the click!
I found out how to set up the basics like a crafting grid, and i kinda knew the external storage stuffs. But this video taught me everything else, thanks man
Quick add on. For the Crafter if you have the item you want to craft inside the grid and are trying to auto-craft more but the message to craft isn't showing. Shift+Ctrl will let you craft it.
This was amazingly helpful to set up the basics. Would you also be able to make a secondary video going over the other parts of the mod like the storage blocks, interfaces, relays, and other mod integrations like EnderIO conduits? I sort of understand them but equally feel completely lost looking at them.
At first, I thought this video was great until I got to the processing autocraft section, which I was setting it up in my world and mine would not work and it was because you need the crafter on top of your block. Ie on top of the furnace. Make sure its pointing in the correct direction and then you need export and import to finish the auto craft job off. So I ended up watching another video which explains it in more detail. But thank you for sharing your knowledge.
If you want to auto craft something needs to be smelted, place a redstone furnace or a furnace, place the crafter pointing to the machine, configure input from up and out from a side, place an importer on the output side and connect to cables, voila just make the pattern and it will be there
What is the block he is looking at 4:13 that the external storage is connected to? And also, is that block needed or can you just connect an external storage to a chest or a drawer directly?
I like that it was simply but my ONLY complaint is that he should have mentioned that, then autocrafting with things like Alloy Smelters, you HAVE to import the result back into the system for it to count as completed, otherwise it will be stuck forever waiting for whatever you crafted.
loved the video but find when i try and craft a production matrix the error pops up "no machine found" I assume it crafter within the RS crafting grid, no?
question about the crafting. im using mystical agriculture but in order to make the next tier essence i have to use infusion crystals in the recipe. is there any way to avoid the issue of using 2000 infusion crystals and being able to use one master infusion crystal?
@@haydenclark6029 This mod is designed to be a lot like AE2 but less complicated, and less of a grind. Mind you it is still a grind but not as bad. You don't need to worry about max channels, or using inscribers to make each processor. And also, you don't need to worry about the damn Crystals you need to grow for AE2 haha
How do you auto craft when the recipe required an item that has unlimited used. Off the top of mynhead the best example I can think of is in mystic agriculture. You need an infusion crystal to make essence, but you can use one crystal an infinite amount of times. But when I set up the recipe in the crafting system, it says I need 1 per item I make, even thought the one I have WILL make all of them. Help? Lol
Loved this fast explanation but I'm having trouble wit the external storage part of this mod.... I have it reading my drawer controller of storage drawers mod.... It's showing up on my crafting grid and all that but when I want to clear the item from the crafting part it's putting in either in my inventory OR on my disk space rather than just placing it back in the drawers like I have the priority set to. My external storage is set to priority 1 and my disk drive is set to -1.. I'm at a loss at what is wrong since I'm new to the mod.. I saw some one else using this system and dump a lot of stuff into the grid area and it sorted it out to the drawers first so it wasn't using disk space. I'd like to do that and don't know how. :(
It seems like you can only craft if you have zero of an item. If you have items of a that kind, but you want to make more, how do you force the crafting GUI?
Any tips on how to make this work with items that have metadata? For example, the IC2 cutter and forge hammer? Right now, I had a recipe in there to make a hammer and iron make an iron plate, however, it required that exact durability of hammer. I tried making it use the ore dict, and it works, however, it uses the ENTIRE hammer/cutter for every operation! It seems all they coded this for was to actually reference how many things are needed, and then delete them from the system. So now it seems it's pretty useless for anything that involves metadata, which would include basically every IC2 recipe, sadly. Any tips on how to work around that? Right now, I'm planning on setting up a Mechanical Crafter for every single plate and wire, which is going to be super annoying, and require constant checking, but that's all I can think of.
So I'm curious, of the various storage mods that work like this does, which is lighter on a person's computer? i.e. what is the less resource intensive like AE2 or refined storage? I like this tutorial it's great for people who can find the recipies but don't know how to use the mod.
AE2 is more resource intensive by far. Typically requires starting by hunting for 4 different presses, then making machines to craft items before you can begin to have a system. Whereas refined storage is typically string and slime balls to make a binder and silicone, redstone, metal (iron, gold, and diamond) the same as AE2. This alone just getting started is easier and cheaper than AE2. AE2 however is typically coded cleaner than refined storage and used to cause some issues with certain computers. However heavy AE2 usage or refined storage usage might cause issues as well. It pretty much simply depends on the pack developer or personal choice on the system that gets used. Refined storage is better at auto crafting, but AE2 is better at auto processing and fully automation. It is mostly personal preference nowadays.
Can someone please explain how this mod is different from AE2? I haven't found any major differences yet. Really confusing how some modpacks have both.

is there a way to all time craft something if needed, for example if you want a chest is allways full with something?

This looks a lot like Applied Energystics 2.
my thoughts exactly

do you mind telling me what items the storage containers were that you connected to the external storage? and the mod? pls and thx
thanks
dang, thanks!
thanks for the help it takes really long though

@Gun but its nice, its better for beginners in minecraft modding
is there a way to craft with fluid automatically because im playing seaopolis and wondering if i can automate overworldly matter
What power should i use for ATM
nice intro
Did I miss something? I never saw how you actually put items onto the disks. I'm confused about this part.
Can i somehow increase number of slots which crafter uses? In AE2 can place interface next to crafter
how do you make this work on an infusing factory because when i try to craft something with it it says machine dosent accept item

i meanwhile trying to understand ae2, and after that look to refind storage why is this so easy

How do you put things in??
Do you know if you can add a detector to have it autocraft those enderio ingots?
You should just be able to setup the auto crafter and an import bus and it should work like a charm!
