Like the Duramax. Forest green sounds like the perfect color for that rig. Once you get it sorted out and repaired it would be a perfect tow vehicle. Bet when you pulled in your yard and you hit that big bump, your fuel filter housing was jarred again and that's what caused the engine power issue.
The cruise control not working/glitching out is your brake light switch. It’s on the brake petal and will cause the cruise to quit working, but the brake lights will still work. I’ve done it on multiple of those era GM trucks. Super simple fix
Had the same problem too on a couple of my Chevy trucks! Try pulling back up on the brake pedal with your toes and see if the cruise works then. It may just need a little adjusting. Leave a little gap between the switch and the brake pedal. 5-minute fix should cure that problem!
Mine has been broken for years…i have the switch new in the box but i never use cruise control so i never got around to swapping it

Nothing happened. The only reason the engine power reduced came up was because he hit that massive bump pulling it into the yard that threw the fuel filters around and the computer detected it putting the truck into safe mode.

I miss this type of reveal video, buying a vehicle and seeing if it can make it home. Please do more of that! This truck seems to be a decent replacement for the RAM! (which is good to see it get used and serve its purpose). Forest Green would look pretty good on that truck, or even an Army OD Green would look pretty sick too!
Make sure that you buy the gentleman who walked for the booster pack a cold one or two.

On another note, of all the cars you have, I really wish you could hold on to that Cadillac ELR. There were so few sold and I believe it will become a highly sort after modern collector car in the near future.

Tip get the trip counter and all the other info on the gauges you would have to switch out the panel on the left of the dash, all the hook ups are there. That feature was only on higher model trucks

Since it didn't go into limp mode until the big jolt pulling into the yard, there might be a bad ground. Like from the motor to the body. Or loose battery cables.

I’ve got that same filter setup on my 93 Chevy 6.5 turbo diesel, and my 03 dodge ram 5.9. I got mine directly from cat here in Mesa Arizona. Check the headlight switch to see if there’s an auxiliary position that activates the aftermarket lights. I think you did good on the truck. Not going to loose money. That’s an easy $25k On a different note, that basketball hoop next to that bedroom window. Around my house, that would be a broken window by the end of the day! Just my observation. And yes! Ditch that topper!
Very cool truck. The left and lights etc were clearly professionally done right. I like the shell! You can secure items in the back. LOL Dare you to run the Monte Carlo by the rock thrower wide open headers and full throttle!!! ROFL! Maybe even a good burnout in front of his house would be precious, nah that would be priceless! LOL! This truck is one hell of a truck, I have been looking at 4x4 trucks and jeeps and they are nothing like that, that is one monster and I bet it would tow a house while climbing a wall. Randy, there's 2 filters for the transmission the spin on and the internal filter as well
Keep it as your work truck , and paint the body in dark blue then paint in bold letters AAR in lighter blue along the sides , with smaller Auto Aution Rebuilds in white , with Email address under the large letters .

And I didn't want to say it I watched that Fork lift zoom by fast with a vehicle loaded on its forks just bouncing around And at a fast speed more than once actually! Whoever is driving that Fork lift is rushing around the way he runs that machine. That is what popped up in my mind when I saw the damages. Hopefully it is not to damaged.

That is awesome and when you really think about it after you fix it up and change the paint job, you can use it for a little while and then sell it get your money back and then some. A nice black would look good on that or maybe white or red. All right. Let me finish watching the video. Another great video. She needs a lot of work but the end result is going to be amazing. I'm sooooo glad u won it and for sure the forklift guy tore the filters off and probably tore the fuel tank shield sliding the forks through I've hauld enough rigs from IAA and they grab them from the side all the time ..u won a rad truck

Orange or yellow would look killer with the black wheels & bumpers, but because of the texture going dark will probably be the best route . Since it would take forever to get that stuff off I'd coat the new bed rather than grind down the rest of the truck.
32:24 @autoauctionrebuilds the lights could possibly be on that accessory panel located under the steering wheel slightly to the left on the knee panel! Only spot that it looks like they could be unless they are hidden, tied in to the OEM switched, or removed.
even with all the damage and issues that is a very nice truck, I'm not much of a chevy guy but those older 3500s run great. and I'm guessing those holes in the bottom center were where the light controls were mounted like 2 smaller holes for the bracket and the larger ones may have been where some wires came in

Randy, this truck doesn’t have GM’s optional info display buttons that would’ve been on the drivers side for the Silverado/Sierra trucks, and next to the right side of the steering wheel on the Tahoe/Yukon SUVs. I’m not sure if you can swap them into your truck, but I do know that it’s possible to swap in the audio controls that are usually on the right side of the steering wheel, considering your truck doesn’t have audio controls, but that’s all I know. Love your channel man! Keep up the great content!

That's a steal of a deal on that Duramax up here in the north west you just can't touch and diesel for that price and with all those extra options they go for major bucks, I'm glad you picked it up from the first video on that Duramax I fell in lust with it and I'm a Cummins person but now that could change 😆😂😆

Now that's an interesting video, love that truck. Take a rubber mallet to that rear fender ,fix the spring, sell the cap, and paint it red, and have a ball doing it. I wonder if you can paint right over that rough paint? You could roll it on because it doesn't have to be smooth. Really looking forward to this one.

Try the factory switch for the fog lights. That's how I have mine hooked up, so there isn't any extra none factory switch just put up in any one spot...

I'd rather roll the dice on the pickup than the RV that Randy had in another video that was very recent. According to it, the RV was abandoned at the auction. I wonder why?
Randy. As for the cruise control not working, stick your foot under the brake pedal and pull up. Recheck your cruise again. Your brake light switch is most likely out of adjustment. Ask me how I know.

All the codes are part of the delete, change all the filters and oil. Find out what programmer was on the plug in the dash and you will learn a lot more about it
It is recommended to buy both springs so they match! Buying one spring may not match and leave the truck sitting crooked
I think that after you do your fixes and dent rx for the bed paint it you’ll have a great truck.
You have a inside pan filter as well the screw on is supposed to be changed with every oil change

The cruise issue is common on Chevys my suburban is the same. Its the black box module thats attached to the brake pedal.
For the lights it's either under the dash or wired in to the highbeam headlights

So for the light bars. They could be the way my dad’s jeep is. His light bar is wired into the high beams. Granted. He has a switch to turn it on or off. But it only gets power when the high beams are on. Might see if it’s the same way

Randy I think the light bar switch is in the pocket to the left of the blower fan dial. It’s on the top of the pocket

Cruise control issue is normally the brake light pedal switch. Easy fix.
The rock throwing fireman 👨🚒 is going to love the exhaust brake. He might get a cannon next .
The cruise control not working is probably the brake light switch. My truck does it all the time if you tap the back of the brake pedal with your foot and then press set it should work but just replace it it’s easy and cheap and fixes the problem.
Putt a black work bed on it and you won’t have to worry about matching a new bed with the pink bed liner.
