99 pro for double can be sluggish when defending. but for rear court player, this racket is a beast!

Can be a little sluggish a good comparison defence wise would be the original 88D. In comparison the 99 pro is faster but not by a crazy amount.just noticeably faster.

I've both colour of this racket Astrox 99 Pro. As my opinion, they are have small different. White Tiger more solid and stiff then Red Cherry. But they are have same power when playing at rear court. Smashing such as beast. Defend position is up to u preparation and stability. For me, this racket is awesome too for play double even I used with Astrox 88D Pro. Nice video. Thank u Vsmash.

I've got the ax99pro 4uG5 for almost a year now. I ve tried stringing it with some different strings on it like bg66 brilliant, aerosonic, lining no 1 and bg 80 power.
What i can conclude here for me after using this racquet :
    1. Good racquet for smashing only if you already have the good techniques in the game, your timing, good stamina, good and power wrist and all the required skills in court. Same goes to the drives, loob, clearance from the baseline, netting etc.
    2. For me the best combination : + BG80 Power / 28lbs. I'm a social player, mostly play doubles. Looking forward to string it using exbolt63. After 2 or 3 games i'll chance to another racquet, the arcsaber light 7i.
    3. Good racquet, money wise for all the tech it has.
Good joob vmash and team for this video,👍🏻👍🏻

I have the Yonex Astrox 99 Pro (4U) and strung with Yonex Exbolt 63 on 26 tension when I played doubles with my friends. When I smashed this racket from the backcourt, it felt terrific compared to my Yonex Astrox 88D Pro, which I presently use for doubles. The power of this racquet is a beast that the power assist bumper assisted me in smashing swiftly as the shuttlecock reached the sweet spot of the racquet; when it comes to defence, it was appropriate for the weight when I guarded it quickly. Control is adequate for nets, drops, and clean shots. So far, I really loved these two Yonex racquets, Astrox 99 Pro and Astrox 88D Pro.

I have both racquets as well. I started of with 100zz with 3U6G, very easy to maneuver and good in smashing. Unfortunately, I accidentally hit my partner racquet and cracked. So, not able to restring high tension. Then, I moved on to 99pro, with 3U5G. However, I need to use a lot to adapt this racquet because of it stiffness and not easy maneuver as 100zz that I used before. After that, I decided to shift back 100zz but with 4U5G. For these few rounds of playing, it is still fine to maneuver but smash less power. For both racquet, I would prefer 100zz with 3U6G.

    • @vsmashsports

Astrox 99 pro do get sluggish and slow sometimes compared to 100zz, the stiffness and thickness of the shaft plays a lot in helping that as well.

  • @Deincrosse

99pro's smashes may seem 'steeper', but that's only because it's lacking power towards the end of the flight if you look very closely. The 68 grommet holes design is not for attack because it makes the stringbed softer at similar tension, what it provides is easy repulsion and large sweet spot, so the racket becomes more forgiving (imagine stringing your racket at a low tension). It is also easier to control slice shots as the shuttle stays on the stringbed longer, leaving more room for control. It's like a head-heavier and stiffer 88s pro for singles players who prefer a rally game, yet it has just enough power in it to kill off the opponent when the opportunity arises, and this is to be honest a quite niche demographics in casual players since most guys just want to smash the other side to death, in which case the 100zz or 88D Pro will be more suitable.

99 pro smash is kinda weak if you strung at low tension, but if you strung at high tension (above 11,5kg) the power increase significant, the 68 holes grommet doesn't reduce the power, it just need higher tension to maximize the power, if like you said, the 72 holes must be weaker than the 76 holes, then how LKY can be a beast in smash with axf 90, he has the fastest cross court smash

I have a 4u 99 pro with aerobite (27x29lbs tension) i usually dont use aerobite , i would usually use bg66 ultimax but im loving aerobite with this racket would highly suggest it. I find that the racket is very powerful at the rear of the court it has everything in that area. It has plenty of power when you need and plenty of control. Slices is also a highlight for this racket. Maybe its becuase im used to using a 3u weighted racket and less head heavy rackets. I think if you were in my position where you use 3u rackets, opting to go to 4u for this racket isnt a big deal, you might struggle using 3u of this racket since its on the heavier side of 3u and same for 4u. I would suggest 4u to anyone whos looking to buy this racket.

I have the 4u 99 pro in white. The racket will put your endurance to the test as you tire out your opponent to their death. The occasional smash or cross court jump sends it flying.
At times I think that the 99 is too heavy and a 88D would be a better fit. Truth is that there is nothing like this racket and that is why I love it. The momentum you can build is very satisfying.

Hello Alex, may i ask your opinion?
    I'm an amateur,
I have Arcsaber 11 Pro 4UG5, loving it but lacks the smash power (Unless you're really strong like Zheng Si Wei), so i want to add 1 more arsenal in my bag
(i don't really like buying too much racket since i believe i'll only use 1-2 rackets most of the time).
Tried the 88D Pro, love this racket too, but once i'm tired, i get really sluggish and bad quality shots will occur. Feels really stiff too.
Tried the 88S Pro, love this racket tbh, i can do better smash with this but it just really stiff (stiffer than the 88D Pro and Arcsaber 11 Pro, imo)
Tried the 99 Pro, won't buy it unless collecting Momota's equipment, since the White Tiger looks amazing
Tried NF1000Z, dont like it because too repulsive, but it's not extra stiff for me. (imo, 1000Z is less stiff than 88DPro and 88SPro)
Sold all of the rackets above, ended with Arcsaber 11 Pro
    Currently,
    I'm confused between the 100ZZ and 77Pro
I have tried the 77Pro, feels really similar to the Arcsaber 11 Pro with just a bit head-weight and repulsion.
Since the Arcsaber11Pro and 77Pro is identical (well, at least for me), i don't want to waste my money for something similar and ended up selling one of them. So i'm looking for the 100ZZ.
    My questions are:
As far as i know, 100ZZ has slimest shaft for Astrox series and a bit of head-weight, so i think the stiffness might around the Arcsaber 11 Pro.
Some say that 88D Pro is stiffer than the 100ZZ, and i've watched someone measure the stifness between 88D Pro and 100ZZ, ended up 88D Pro was really stiffer.
I think the reason is 100ZZ has slimer shaft.
Do you think 100ZZ really stiff ?? or it's around the 1000Z?
    As for 100ZZ head-weight,
In your opinion, is head-heavier than 88D Pro or identical with 88S Pro / 77 Pro ??

    • @vsmashsports
      @vsmashsports  11 місяців тому

hi Michael, the feeling of 100zz shaft would be stiffer. For head heavy, 88D pro would be slightly head heavy and 100zz has a compact frame too. If you are comfortable with 77 pro and arc 11 pro, both of this racquet are very good all rounder racquet, in terms of attacking, defensive and control, they are both above average.

Good review. My personal opinion, both racquet are for pro or well trained player due to the stiffer shaft. For newbie/social player, don't use tension higher than 26lbs for both of this racquet.😁😁. May not be right, personal experience only

    • @vsmashsports

Yes I do agree. :) choose the right racquet and right tension and string is important. Stiffer racquet is harder to use and require more strength.

Been using 99Pro 4ug5 for a few months. Would like to ask if I should buy the 3u or 4u version of 100zz? Playstyle is more of an all-rounder but friends always recommend me to play rear court because I have better control and power in the group. 99Pro is great for me but it tires me rather quick and therefore couldn't use it for longer rallies/session.

    • @vsmashsports
      @vsmashsports  2 роки тому +4

Hi Jordan, that really depends, 3U would be heavier, hence gives extra power in rear court playing, if based on your situation, I would think 4U would be good fit, 4U 100ZZ might not be able to generate as much power as 99 Pro, but definitely helps alot with long rallies and sessions. If a 3U 100ZZ might be similar to a 4U 99 Pro when comes to longer rallies. Hope this helps. :)

    • @vsmashsports

If playing doubles, recommended to use 4U for Astrox 99 Pro, as for tension, it really depends on preference.. Normal players, I would recommend tension 25-27 lbs depending on strings too :)
As for sweet spot, personally thinks that Yonex 88D pro has bigger sweet spot, and more suitable for doubles play.

@@vsmashsports Nice; what about Yonex Exbolt 63 on Astrox 99 Pro 4U? Would that give more power and control? Tension?

@@alvinkwanglihyu9765 Personally thinks that using Exbolt 63 at tension 25-27lbs, able to give ample power and control, anything above that, would require a more skillful player to able to handle it. 😅
