Cape Malay Cookbook
Tried and Tested by gawa's kitchen
Ingredients
1 cup oil
1 cup light brown sugar
375ml/1+1/2 cup selfraising flour
350ml grated Carrots not chopped up Carrot like I say in the video 🤦♀️
2 teaspoons fine cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
7ml baking powder
250ml chopped walnuts /pecan nuts
3 beaten eggs
pan I used 20cm×26 cm
Topping
1 tub smooth cream cheese
2 to 3 tablespoons castor sugar /can add more
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
walnuts/pecan nuts
preheated oven 180 degrees
35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
I baked mine for 30 minutes but all ovens vary in heat.

Yes i saw its 3 egg but i thought u need to double each item so thats y i thought 3 × 3 egg an same for oil etc etc, thanx for all your help

Cauld I use iicing sugar instead of caster sugar

An also can this b plain or u really need topping?
If u don't hv self raising flower how do u measure baking powder
Hi I'm not sure always made it with selfraising flour but u can Google how to make selfraising flour from cake flour it should come up.
Is this just as yum without topping or u need the topping
U can have it plain if u choose but carrot cake is always better with a light topping but it's your choice

Hi can I make cupcakes, I'm looking to make 4 dozens , so should I do
U can make cupcakes but baking time will need to be adjusted u should just make 1 batch and see how many u get or just make 3 batches instead of making 1 large batch but up to u.
How many tsps is 7ml baking powder....plz advise. Nice cake
1 teaspoon is 5ml
Can i use white sugar ?
I've never made it using white sugar, so I can't say,but u can try
