super. my mistake was I used always double-sided tape to instal zipper in the interiour of my bags, but from now am gonna use buisible tape, great idea.

Thank you so much! I get asked that question quite a bit and it’s actually the way the ironing board came. I’m not sure where the fabric came from, sorry! I ordered the ironing surface from TNT quilt boards in Massachusetts.

It’s a personal choice and you can definitely cut it shorter. I would suggest waiting until the bag is done first before cutting it so it’s easier to finish.

When you cut off the top inch and then sewed it back on doesn’t that make your lining 1/2” shorter than it was intended to be? I watched it twice and was still confused on this bit.

Such a clear and excellent tutorial, I have not tried one but I certainly feel confident with the step by step tutorial. I am in South Africa and need to source the tape and what I have used previously sticks to my needle and causes a sticky mess.

I choose not to but you can if you would like. I would rather that my lining was a little bit short since they can stretch and sag overtime anyway. So I do not change the dimensions.

Hi, you’re a nice, clear, speaker. The zipper opening is also the first part of a bound buttonhole and part of the back pocket on men’s’ trousers. Decided to subscribe. Good idea to pivot then stabilize stitch. My Elna is 45 yrs old, still great, but now I have a zottsie new Janome computerized Sewing-embroidery machine that even does my dishes! 😉 best wishes for your channel.

Everything I was going to say has already been said in the comments about this being the best, most instructive, easiest to follow, best use of fusible tape, and easiest method of putting in both kinds of zippers. I have sewn zippers in before but your instructions will help me be more professional and look like I know what I am doing. There is no guesswork with your method. Yes it does but it’s perfectly fine for the lining to be slightly shorter.

This is the best method I have seen for making the zipper panels for a recessed zipper. No turning of a tube and very accurate. Neat outcome. Love it
