Strawberry Milk Bingsu // Korean Shaved Ice 🍓🥛🍧

Summer szn means shaved ice szn! My favourite kind of shaved ice is bingsu because of it’s milky flavour and fluffy texture! So I tried to make a stay at home version 👀
I originally wanted to use a grater but I crushed my ice instead because it was faster, so it’s not “shaved” 😅

Ingredients:
Shaved ice:
- 300g milk of your choice
- 15g condensed milk
Topping:
- 12 strawberries
- 5g sugar
- condensed milk
- scoop of vanilla ice cream
Method:
1. Combine milk and condensed milk in a ziploc bag (we reuse the bag afterwards). Chill in freezer for 5 hours or frozen (doesn’t need to be rock solid frozen)
2. Combine 6 strawberries and sugar in a pot. On low heat, cook and mash the strawberries until it becomes a syrup like purée. Set aside to cool down
3. Slice 6 strawberries into halves or thirds
4. Finely crush/grate the frozen milk ice.
5. To assemble, layer shaved ice with condensed milk, and strawberry sauce. Then top with strawberry slices, condensed milk, strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream
*I used 12 strawberries in the video for the sauce and made extra, which can be used for strawberry milk ☺️

@Wang Vivian mmm it’s not mandatory but it sweetens the milk and makes the milk less icy/rock solid because condensed milk doesn’t freeze solid ☺️

@@savagechicken4518 The strawberry milk was very delicious and for the shaved ice I just added the condensed milk as per my taste because 1 spoon wasn’t sweet enough…..overall it was pretty good.

If you want to make this freeze faster, you could take the milk and put it into a larger bag with ice and salt! All you gotta do is mush the ice and salt around and it should freeze the substance in the middle, wether it’s milk or any other drink you’d like to freeze. Plus it’s a fun little science project!

Sugar will not be able to dissolve in cold milk 🥺 if you don’t want to use condensed milk you may want to add more sugar into the strawberry syrup and just freeze the milk alone ☺️
