My absolute favourite vehicle of all. It ruled my childhood whether I was on beach vacation, playing in rock pools; or just admiring all its myriad hatches while in my room at home. My childhood BUGG has defied the odds and survived all that and its significance only grows the older I get. Thank you for adding it to your extensive review catalogue my friend.

The older plastic is actually made from petroleum based polymers so you can easily restore the plastic and make it more durable by rubbing oil all over it especially around the movement pieces like the hinges. This is a great way to make your toys last longer. Also different plastic polymers react differently to different types of oils so do some research and try different types of oil by putting some on a soft cloth (like an old t-shirt) and gently rubbing it into the plastic. Toypolloi has some good videos about restoring old plastic and using oil based polymers to keep it from breaking down. I hope this helps someone out with their collection. It also works on the figures however it may take some paint off if you are not careful. I actually used this technique on an old trouble bubble that I got on the internet and it works well.

This intro is epic and the music was just right! I love the poolside action for a "Does It Float?" demo. I have become more fond of the BUGG based on appearances during GI Joburg playmotion videos. Thanks for this excellent review!

As a kid, I used to use the BUGG as a deployment vehicle for the Hydro-Vipers because they were pictured on the box art. But looking at it now as an adult, I think it would fit better as a deployment vehicle for a team of last week’s figure - the Eel v2 and v3. The shared neon yellow aesthetic would probably work well together.

The Secto-Viper's weapon reminds me of the Blade Blasters from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Awesome, top tier vehicle!! Sounded like you liked it more than not. One of the best vehicles with a ton of play features. The handles of the jet skis are NOT too thick to put in the figures hands. I did it with two Astro-Viper's like on the box with no problems. Same thing with the laying down portions. You should make your BUGG pristine before you review it. Broken chin gun and torn stickers aren't good to review. I have two Secto-Viper's, both complete. The gun fits in his hand well. No need to be careful about his thumbs there either. You're overly cautious, Hoodie. Lol. Adore this vehicle. It's superb. Interesting story about how I got a mostly complete BUGG. I went to my first ever toy show, and a vendor had it and sold it to me for like a 100 dollars. Just needed a couple guns and the jet skis, I think. The stickers too. Had all the missiles and torpedoes and everything. I got like 3 or 4 compliments from other toy show enthusiasts about my awesome purchase. I also got a Piranha, my third Crimson Guard and second Tele-Viper. Oh, and the Mountain Howitzer. Probably spent like 400 dollars. It was a good day. Oh, also a Rocky and Apollo Pops in box.

I absolutely love the BUGG! My all time favorite vehicle, it has so many play features. I was never strictly into the realistic military aspect of GI Joe, so weird Sci-fi designs like this really appealed to me, especially when under water stuff and things with domes and helmets. The fact is has a detachable sub just made this all the more great. I had hours of fun with this as a kid, and I’m so glad I have a complete one in good condition as an adult.

So, the Bugg... it wasn't my favorite Cobra vehicle, but I liked the heck out of it! I remember buying it at Toys R Us and being happy to have it along with Secto Viper which, to me, is 1 of the best Cobra vehicle drivers in the line (and I liked quite a few of them). I always imagined Secto Viper being meant for a space line because he resembles an astronaut in obvious ways, but I liked him. The Bugg grew on me more and more, especially as I got older. What did it for me is its many play features with the concealed jet-skis, the rideable pontoons, the removable front sub and rear turret. The colors only accentuated its swampy surroundings so they never bothered me and the Water Moc n Copperhead were a favorite vehicle/pilot combo since they were released. Either way you look at it, the Bugg is a super cool, toyetic vehicle, even if its driver doesn't quite match its colors.

Great video. Interestingly, the Cobra BUGG is a boss in the G.I. Joe NES game in Level 5-1. You miraculously chase it on foot and fight it in the middle of the Sahara Desert--nowhere near the water!

I remember seeing the BUGG first via a GI Joburg video on it. Looks like a fun toy and doesn’t look too unrealistic.
I feel like the 2nd and 3rd version of the Eels would be good figures for a BUGG crew. With the yellow on them matching with the yellow on the Secto-Viper.
The Secto-Viper sounds like if a strict school hall monitor became a lifeguard (and terrorist). Sounds like a fun idea for a Robot Chicken sketch, especially with how Comic Tropes did a skit for them in this video. I feel like DIC would have used them as weird comic relief characters.

I love this vehicle and want get one eventually.
It actually makes sense despite being funky. Nazi Germany actually made tracked mini subs. This would be great to hide in the off shore to confront landing forces or with its high troop carry capacity to use as an amphibious attacker. My main gripe are the lower guns. Underwater guns are practically useless. On a beach they are very low and going to get buried in sand . I’d rather it have arms with claws or cutting tools for dealing with cables whatever. The detachable sun could either deal with removing enemy mines or harbor nets or even recovery or spying in under sea cables.
My main issue getting it would be I’d want at least four secto vipers to man it.

This is a very strange vehicle for even Cobra, the vehicle looks more at home in a Judge Dredd comic like it's a Mega City transport truck of some kind.

Bugg and Hammerhead are super fun, highly playable vehicles and an awesome one-two punch for amphibious assaults! Very underrated vehicles, highly complementary also! Add Moccasin, Hydrofoil, and Sea Ray and Cobra kicks ass in the water!! All the Joe's really had in response is the Flagg, which isn't very armed (or playable as a moving vehicle!), the neat little Devilfish, and the Killer Whale, which is totally awesome, but outgunned for sure!

Chris is an idiot ha ha. Love the beginning. I have always had a soft spot for the BUGG. I think it is a good coastal defense Cobra vehicle. I would like to get it and load it up with EELs and Hydro-Vipers. You should have put the rimshot sound effect for the joke ha ha. Cool that it floats a short time even.

  • @asm42

  • @DreamMadeProductions
    @DreamMadeProductions Рік тому

My thoughts are the Bug is amphibious. The pontoons are supposed to let it float so it can deploy its minisub and jetskis. The Sectoviper is just weird bottom tier. Eels would have gone much better, and the Bug would have been much cooler looking it it used their color scheme.
If you have to go with the new color scheme and driver... I think the concept art works better. An underwater walker screams Cobra... but it might have made for a boring toy if the legs don't move or a complex toy design if the legs moved and support the vehicle's weight.
