Thanks for the movie.Different storyline. What a naïve and innocent crime movie compared to today's standards! Tying up only the hands of an ex-cop, taking a "secret" picture with a flash that could light up a room like it was daytime, trusting an ex-cop so quickly, etc.

For a 1941 production, this film seems more styled in the early 30's fashion. In fact, I just watched "King Murder" where George Batcheller was also in charge of production. As others have commented, this is a film worth watching, but the production style is somewhat dated compared to other 40s films. Low budget, I assume. Still, thanks much to PizzaFlix for saving this for all old movie buffs!

Funny how people will watch animated movies about talking bears or singing lions, but can't watch a piece of human fiction without taking it seriously. Most of what goes on in these older movies should be taken with a large dose of suspended belief. It's entertainment, not factual records.

Since 1989, 2,005 people have been exonerated from prison in the U.S.
Ricky is one of those exonerated - after serving nearly 40 years for a crime he didn’t commit. In 1975, a man was robbed and murdered in Ricky’s Cleveland neighborhood. Days later, armed police kicked in the door of the home where 18-year-old Ricky lived. Based on the testimony of one young boy who claimed to have witnessed the murder, Ricky and two of his friends were convicted of the crime and sentenced to death.

This was an alright movie. It could have been really good if the writing was a bit better on certain things. But overall, for are I'd rather watch thiso movie than anything new coming from the networks and such. When the bad guys girl started telling him what she was gonna do, she did a masterful job of expressing the "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" attitude. And it was nice to see the cops father not believe his son would turn criminal. He knew he was being framed. Good movie, overall. 🙏
