But which movie did you like the most of the three? which Second?
Next time Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Best line of the film was improvised by the great Sean Connery. When Indy asks his Dad how he knew Elsa was a Nazi, Sean's reply of 'She talks in her sleep...' was unscripted. Harrisons double take was genuine and then the crew burst out laughing. Spielberg called cut and announced "well.. that's staying in !"
Those moments can be the best, because they reactions are genuine. Like in Blazing Saddles after Sheriff Bart is called the n word by a woman and Jim reminds him that these are simple people: “you know, morons.” Cleavon Little’s laugh is genuine because he doesn’t see it coming. It’s a shame they never made another movie together.
I never knew that. That's awesome!
When I tell you I was shook by him saying that I mean it. 😂😂😂
What was the original line? How DID Henry know Elsa was a Nazi?
Actually he said that because she really *_did_* talk in her sleep in real life.
As for the whole name of God part, remember, these were texts, and probably traps, created by people during the Crusades(at least in the context of the film), which means it would have been Christians who would have had Latin as their shared language for religious texts.
You're absolutely right I didn't think of it from the time context of the crusades as opposed to the time context of christ!
@@MovieJoob The time of christ the scriptures were written in greek. The jehovah spelt with an I was the latin translation of that used by the crusaders. Jehovah is a name going back a long time and was originally written in Hebrew as יְהֹוָה Yəhōwā" in the old testament (jewish religion meaning "I am"). So those other names you mentioned such as Allah are completely different peoples/religions.
25:55 Actually, I don't think it should have been Arabic : They say at the beginning that the 3 brothers who found the Grail were knights from the First Crusades. These 3 knights are most likely to have been the ones who brought the Grail here and designed these 3 trials. At the time, people from noble lineage (such as lords, knights and kings) spoke latin.
agreed - the tablets and the trials were created by Knights Templar.
You're so right, it was the knight's trials so Latin is completely fair enough!!
If he's from the first crusade, why does he speak modern English instead of old French?
the "everybody's lost but me" is probably the line i laugh at most and most people kinda brush past it. I'm glad you laughed as well lol
It got me good!! 😂
You really can't beat these older classics.
Classic and iconic for a damn good reason! 🤠
The young actor playing Indiana Jones was river Phoenix. We lost him way too young.
R.I.P. River Pheonix 😞
Indy's age:
There was a TV series in the 1990's, "The Indiana Jones Chronicles", where the stories about his adventures are being told by an elderly but vital Indy, in his 80's or 90's.
It was Sean Patrick flannery as young Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones series
The humor is really amped up for those of us old enough to remember Sean Connery as James Bond. He always had the humor (the one liners in Bond films) but was so funny to see a guy best known as action star / super spy as a hapless academic. As others have said, the grail was moved during the time of the crusades - hence the knight, hence the Latin rather than Aramaic or Greek during or just after the time of Christ.
The reason for Latin at the end was the fact that knights from the Crusades set up the traps. The Catholic Church of that time leaned heavily on Latin.
Thanks for the reaction Jade. Awhile back I said I have to watch a channel for awhile before deciding to subscribe. Well, I’m officially subscribed now. Thanks so much for all the amazing content
Yes! You've reached my favorite of the original 3 films. Love your reactions as always jade!
Great reaction - 13:35-13:45 "She talks in her sleep" - your response to this is amazing - is this the funniest 10 seconds on UA-cam? First your head tilts, then the eyes pop open and the eyebrows shoot up, "fffwhut? whatdijizlepreiha?" Then you lift yourself off the chair and swivel in the air "chee-hee-heez ...", and then it takes another 5 seconds to recover "oh go-ho-hod" - Priceless - make a short video of this lovely Chaplin moment lol
HAHAHA thank you so much! I was S H O O K as the kids say!
The young Indy sequence is amazing because in Steven Spielberg’s autobiographical “The Fabelmans” a circus train was shown to be at the core of his filmmaking obsession.
It's kind of amusing how some of the things that made Indy iconic, the whip, the scar on his chin, his fear of snakes, his fedora, all were related to the events of one day in his life.
The chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery is off the charts in this movie. Rarely has any movie had chemistry this good between two male characters. Mel Gibson/Danny Glover and Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker are two of the few that come to mind.
26:57 He's actually named after George Lucas' dog Indiana who was also the inspiration for Chewbacca.
AWWWW
There are two great transitions in movie history; The Hunt For Red October when they transitioned from Russian to English, and this one with You lost today kid, doesn’t mean you have to like it.
I knew you'd like this one! I still hold the 1st one as the best of the franchise...but #3 comes close. And it's true...I'm one of those "old" guys who remember seeing these in the theatre. In fact the 1st one was the "1st date" with a young lady who I eventually became engaged too (alas I later got the ring back unexpectedly). But I still have fond memories of these movies (well..at least 1 thru 3). Have a lovely week (unless you find it uncomfortable to be wished a lovely week by a "old" dude somewhere in the center of the USA...part of me wants to shout the Monty Python phrase..."I'm not dead yet"...but that's a different movie). Peace.
@26:41 The effect of the Holy Grail is only active as long as the drinker stays within the temple grounds. That’s why the other two knights have long since passed away by the time of this film whereas the old knight within the temple remained alive nearly 900 years later.
That reveal near the end that the name Indiana came from their dog is a nice trivia reference. George Lucas wrote the script for the first one, and that was his dog's name.
Fun one, Jade! Yep, sometimes you just gotta WHOOP!! 😆Thanks for this reaction. 💕
I was hoping you'd mention that you now know its Gimli, i'm happy to know i made it into one of your videos, even in the smallest way. 😃
Fantastic reactions to this wonderful Indy film, Jade.
It's so nice to join you, on your journey into the wonders of classic cinema.
I've been so grateful to finally experience these classic films and it has been such a fun journey!!
26:05 Technically youre wrong about that point. The knights werent middle eastern; they were medieval European, sent on a Crusade to find and defend the grail. The knights set the traps. And they would have been using a Latin alphabet.
This is my favorite movie of the series. Probably because of all of the humor in it.
My personel fav. I love em all but Ford & Connery's chemistry as Father & Son is just too charming not to love
To this day we do the whole "Look what you did. I can't believe what you did! " 😂
@@crandleberrysadieme too! 😂. Also i always go...."what about the boat?.....were not gonna go on the boat?"
Thanks for doing this one to complete the trilogy, Jade! It's my personal favorite of the 3. I hope you have a great day!😊🙂✌️
My pleasure David! Thank you for coming along on this wild ride with me!! It was so fun!! 😊
26:40 Nah the effects of the Grail only extend as far as the Great Seal. It was a somewhat quick and easy to overlook line from the knight "That is the price of immortality"
The knight never said the Grail wouldn't work past the seal, only that you couldn't take it past it. Elsa tried and the temple collapsed. Also as I recall, the immortality was only temporary. You had to drink from the Grail every day to maintain it. That was why the Knight was now so old and weak, he hadn't been using the Grail enough.
Ahhh right right!! Thank you!
Yeah, easy choice for me. 1. Eternity in this small cave or 2. Normal life in the world. I'll take 2 please and die when I die
In case you were womdering, Im pretty sure the effect of eternal life from the cup went away once they left the temple and passed over the seal.
One of my favorite movies! I loved seeing your reaction as always!! 🤗🥰💖
So glad you enjoyed!! Thank you so much! 😊❤️
“Rhinoceroses, why did it have to be rhinoceroses?”
If you look at Elsa's face when she hands Donovan the wrong grail, you can see that she "chose poorly" purpose, to get rid of him.
You so sweet :)
Thank you for all the reactions!
After this first came out, in school it was very common to reply in conversation (when applicable) with "your have chosen . . . wisely" or "he chose . . . poorly" -- or some variant.
It's so easy to get swept up again with you as you watch this movie. You are a great reactor!
Aww that has absolutely made my day!! Thank you so much!
23:04 Petra, Jordan and the ancient civilizations that lived there are so beautiful.
Yeah the husky was Steven Spielbergs dog that was named Indiana.
It's a little of a meta joke that he was named after the dog because when choosing name Steven in the end picked his dogs name.
Well I'm sure Indiana was the goodest boy! 🐶
I love this film (I think it's the best of the series) but seeing River Phoenix at the beginning makes me sad every time. We were born just a few months apart but he's been gone 30 years this Halloween. It's a shame he couldn't kick his vices.
Oh wow! Yeah R.I.P. River Phoenix. Far too young 😞
You’re so adorable😊. I love your expressions and responses - so adorable. 😊
Aww thank you so much!! 😊
Watch Crystal Skull too, its good fun to see Harrison Ford back again!
The clues were left by Knights of the first crusade. Why would the clues be in Arabic?
You might be confused, thinking that the Grail was hidden just after the crucifixion, but most stories like this claim that the grail was rediscovered in Jerusalem by knights of the first crusade (most often Knights Templar).
In 18:35, that actually is not a blimp, but a zeppelin. A German invention. Zeppelins were huge and were used for luxurious cross-atlantic travel back then, until the Hindenburg catastrophe.
Oh my apologies I thought they were the same thing, like how we say band-aid but that's just the name brand of a bandage I thought Zeppelin was like the name brand of a Blimp!
I can’t wait of the next one 👍👍👍👍
Greets and cheers
Mik
One of the best movies in my opinion, thanks for doing it
Absolutely enjoyable as always. Jade you are the absolutely best ever in regards to reactions and I would never be bored in the slightest when coming along with you. You are absolutely gorgeous and a com gem. During my family reunion on my Grandma Webb's side of the family, in addition to being of Danish descent I'm also of German and Irish descent. My grandma's maiden name is Hansen which is Danish since my Great Great Great Grandpa Hansen was born in Denmark, my great grandma Hansen's maiden name was Menke, which is of German descent since the first Generation of the Menke's were born in Germany while my ancestors from the Nevin family were born in Ireland.
I found it funny when Indy's dad accidentally shot up the plane's rudder, but then blamed it on the Nazis.
Hahahaha so goofy!! I liked that too!
Fun Fact: Harrison Ford and Sean Connery were not that far apart in age. About 12 years.
We definitely are gifted with a lot of varied terrains in the United States but the trade off of that is we have some of the craziest weather in (I think) the world.
Excellent movie reaction! Good job!
On the second riddle (The Word of God), where the letters on the stones we're,... Psalms 83:18 😊👍📖
Again, excellent reaction😊
I think the language of the time of Christ in Judea was Aramaic. I love you reactions, you continue to show good content. by the way God Bless you twice. I know it's winter down under.
Yes you're absolutely right! And aww thank you so much!! Yes I'm so dang cold I'm excited for Spring!! 🥹
Loved Sean Connery's performance. And your reaction, too!
Aww I'm so glad you enjoyed! Thank you! And yes Sean Connery's performance was great and hilarious!
This is by far my favourite Indy movie. Sean Connery was an absolute legend ❤
Do you plan on watching Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny when that’s made available on streaming?
Hi Jade hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
So, I was looking at your patreon page and have a question: do you have a patreon level where the patron can pick a movie for you to watch each month (or give you a list of 3-5 for you to choose from or conduct a poll)? Obviously there would have to be only a limited number of these, perhaps ~ 4 (so 4 patron submitted picks per month).
I don't currently have that tier but I might look into it and ask the current Patrons if they would like that to be an option!
Now I highly recommend the first two Brendan Fraser Mummy movies if you haven’t seen those already. It has the same spirit of adventure as the Indiana Jones movies with Fraser’s Rick O’Connell being almost as likable as Ford’s Indy.
26:44 Nope. The power of the Holy Grail only works within the confines of the cave. That is the price for immortality according to the Knight.
Ah yes I didn't register that! Thank you so much!!
You might be the most knowledgeable reactor. Fun too. Thank you.
Aww that is so kind thank you so incredibly much!
Great reaction like always Jade this one is my favourite from the saga. And answering your question Indiana and her father will not live forever or have a long life the powers of the grail were only inside the temple, remember what the crusader told him, Grail only grants immortality if you drink every day and the Grail cannot pass the great seal. And this movie has some fun fact like they got 2,000 rats that were specially bred for the catacombs scene, and many extras during the nazi rally in Berlin were asked to cross theirs fingers behind their back during the nazi salute, and the line that sean connery "talks in her sleep" was completely improvesed. Keep up the good work i loved this one.
No not a blimp, it is an airship or Zeppelin. It is a different kind of flying alltogether.
Fun fact: Sweet Doggo has a name.
Enjoy these reactions. Hope you will also get back to The Pacific series reactions.
The crusaders would have worshipped in Latin in the time period when they protected the grail.
The language of Jesus was actually Aramaic but the tests being made by the Crusaders would have either been in Greek or Latin.
Yes you're right I meant Aramaic not Arabic my bad! And yes true the tests were created by the crusaders so Latin is totally fair enough for them to use!
Those "snowy" mountains are why those deserts are "right next" to those snowy mountains. It's very common for there to be a "rain shadow" just beyond a mountain range.
Yes rain shadows are very common in mountainous areas! It's just such a visually jarring sight! Then again I'm from Australia which is the flattest continent on earth hahaha!
on c#as#ting the original, screen James Bond as Indiana Jones' Dad, Spielberg said, "Well who else?"
Thank you, Jade! 🧭 #MovieJoob #IndianaJones #StevenSpielberg #IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade
Thanks so much! 🙌😊
You're welcome, dear! 💐
Anthropology and theology studies would help you understand what name would have been written of that time. I hope this helps. And the knight said the grail can not be taken beyond the seal. That's the price of immortality. Meaning you can only be immortal if you stay there. Thanx for the reaction. take care". xx
The best Indy movie!! Glad you're reacting to it.
It was so much fun! So glad you enjoyed watching with me!!
Good reaction 😅
Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan
20:31 - Bless you.
This is my favorite indy movie by far.
Not Arabic, it would have been in Aramaic or Hebrew, But "Yaweh" would not have been misspellable to have Indy almost fall, so Latin was a good second choice as an universal language of the Empire, though in Asia Minor it would more likely have been Hellenistic Greek (not modern Greek).
I love your reviews because you are adorable
And that concludes the Indiana Jones series....
Yup. It's a real shame they didn't make any more of them. But at least they end with Indy and Co literally riding off into the sunset.
@@RavenHawk1988 I know, right? There was real potential to expand the franchise, but they were ultimately wise to call it quits after this...
I was always wondering why there were so few potential wardens of the grail. I mean, spelling the name of god in Latin isn't that hard. The leap of faith is an auto-win if you just try it. And chosing the correct grail also doesn't seem to be ridiculously diffictult.
You have completed the TRILOGY. There ARE NO MORE movies to watch!
You are named after the dog!
Great Reaction ....
I want to highly recommend you a criticproof INDIAN MOVIE...
"R.R.R (RISE ROAR REVOLT) Which had taken the world by storm in 2022."
IMDB 8.0
ROTTEN TOMATOES 95%
**Truly one of a kind masterpiece.**
It has WON AN OSCAR And GOLDEN GLOBE including 32 other USA Filmfestival awards.
**It is a must must watch.**
IT HAS ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU WOULD WANT IN A MOVIE.
IT'S AN EXPERIENCE.
((Don't get afraid by 3hr runtime. It's like finger snap.))
((First 20 mins are enough to make you watch the entire movie in one sitting.))
**Even JAMES CAMERON watched it twice with his wife and personally congratulated the Director.**
THANK YOU Sister.
26:05 Not sure why it would be Arabic since it was all done by European knights...
No Latin is correct because of the crusader in the area at the time and the brothers fought in the first crusade and they spoke French, German and Latin.
That's true!! Very fair!
@@MovieJoob Glade to have been of help and glade you agreed.
God bless you.
So enjoyable to watch your reactions! More please 🙏 😊
Thank you so so much! So glad you enjoyed!!
Hello Aussie girl glad you finally saw this flick, very very nice review.
You never answered my question I asked you the other day.
Where exactly in Sydney are you from , Bondi , Parramatta ?
Just asking !
Anyway have a good one , bye bye !
The name of God would not have been in arabic. You have to understand they're deciphering text from European crusaders returning from the crusades. These crusaders were French. So, the text would have been translated from Latin or Greek, so it would have been Jehovah.
Jesus would have spoken aramaic I think. Was the day to day language in the region at the time i read somewhere.
Yes that is what i meant! Aramaic not Arabic my bad!
The structure was built by crusaders. The lingua franca would have been Latin, not Arabic.
gesundheit :)
Alright. Feel free to stop after this one. Lol 😅
17:50 The original book burning took place, at German Universities, organized by the students. They were burning all of the books they considered immoral and filthy, written by Jewish authors. These mostly consisted of books on homosexuality, transgenderism, and p*dophilia (sounds familiar doesn't it?). The myth that they were burning "important" books is a complete farce. It's hard to find, but if you dig around on the net, you can find the original reporting these happenings, before they went through "revisionism" and thus propagandized in our current culture post WWII.
As always enjoy your facial reactions and fun comments. .. if you want a tour guide of the US 😉😊❤
Thank you so very much!! So glad you enjoyed! I have been to the US before, L.A., L.V. and Colorado! 🙌
@@MovieJoob awesome.... San Diego and Arizona are fantastic....
Ieovah or Jehovah is an English translation for the God of Israel from the Old Testament. The original Hebrew name is Yahweh. Jehovah = Yahweh. Nobody really knows for sure the pronunciation or the spelling. In the Old Testament it is called the Tetragrammaton. It consists of four letters….YHWH.
I have fun, watching you, enjoy films! (As I am 54 years, and a long term fam of Indy J') - I appreciated your comments on language and heritage and religion (watched your views of many like "Band of Bros" and "Sh' List") - good to acknowledge how movies affect your self.
The locations for this film were in Spain, Jordan, England, Germany, Italy & California/Utah-USA. Please do view the 4 and 5th Indy J's film to make up your own mind, as many are negative, yet, they each have good elements, and are fun. The Young Indy J' television series, made in the 1990's has a lot of merit, yet some random elements -meeting a historical person each episode, and two actors playing Iny from about 8 years-10, and then 16-20 years, during 1908-1921 is additional lore (which is used, as comment in the plot of the later two films -different than the prologue of "last crusade", and links to Indy's Father, and Mother)
Jesus was God manifested in the flesh, the name Jesus means "Je(hovah) sus(saves)". And the common languages were Latin, Greek and Hebrew.
Your lack of knowledge about Christianity and the Crudsades is quite sad 😿
My word, you are a beautiful, young lady! And a Playstation gal, not the inferior XBox 👍🏼 🇬🇧❤🇦🇺
At the time of Christ Allah Was unknown. Islam started in the 700's AD and Jehovah is the English translation of Yahweh which is God's name in Hebrew.
And that's the end of the trilogy. My advise is not to look any later Indy movies.
Gesundheit .... 2x^^
A funny bit of trivia: Indiana Jones got his name from George Lucas's dog. I kind of like that.
That circus train at the beginning of the movie? It's an old logging train called the Cumbras & Toltec Narrow Gauge Railway. Running between the tiny towns of Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico, it's a very scenic ride through some amazing countryside. The Jones house in the movie is a bed & breakfast in Antonito.
(I didn't know the Indy connection the first time I rode the train. They mentioned it toward the end of the ride. That made an amazing day even more amazing.
