Elsa is actually my favorite Indy girl because she keeps you guessing. You think she's good, then you find out she's bad, but then there's enough evidence to keep you wondering if she's going to be redeemed. In the end she paid the price for her sins though. Elsa just couldn't let it go.
The actress who played Elsa, Alison Doody was great playing another villain in the movie RRR. She seems to have aged gracefully as she looks great in that movie
Even with their issues, and Henry only ever calling his son Jr, he knew the one way to reach him when it really mattered was to call him Indiana. He knew that would bring him back to attention and let him know how serious it was that he listen and do what he said. Gets me in the feels.

The beginning of the movie, featuring the late River Phoenix as Indy, cleverly explains certain things about his character. His aversion to snakes, his need for using a whip, and the scar on his chin (that Harrison Ford actually has) just to name a few...
Hahaha! I know this comment is 6 months old but it struck a chord with me and made me laugh - I have German friends that would absolutely nod their head in agreement with that!
"Not his face! That’s the moneymaker!" 😂Love your impromptu lines, Jen! When Last Crusade came out, Connery was still renowned as Bond, a man's man. So this academic/geeky role was really a turn, and the dad-son chemistry amazing. I felt that the Indy movies carried on the mantle of globetrotting adventure that were the Bond movies.
There is a good reason for that. The Bond movies were actually a huge inspiration for the Indiana Jones movies, along with the cinema serials that Lucas enjoyed as a kid. And when it came down to casting the role of Indy's father, their opinion was: "The only man that could ever be the father of Indiana Jones... is James Bond."
"Is this Indiana getting his hat?" ...and his whip ...and his fear of snakes ...and the scar on his chin. Essentially the entire mythos of Indiana Jones was created in one fortuitous afternoon.
I was truly surprised by the chemistry between Sean Connery and Harrison Ford. I didn’t expect this movie to be so damn good. So few “part 3” movies are ever better than the previous movies. Not sure I would call it better than the first, but on par with it. Great movie. Great reaction. 🔥

Last Crusade easily takes the crown for me as best in the trilogy, you just can't beat Harrison Ford and Sean Connery playing off each other so perfectly as father and son. But if anyone prefers Raiders I totally get it, not as much though if they choose Temple of Doom

Crusade is a fair/bad movie compared to the Temple of Doom, visually it is far bellow and if you compare the intro there is not comparaison, you people are deluded about the last Crusade.
The 'can you fly?' 'Fly, yes, land, no' is an amusing callback to Temple, where Willie asks Indy if he knows how to fly and he says 'no, do you?'. So he flies briefly, then they jump out with the life raft. So yeh, he is technically correct 😂
From the mellow music, to the tidy, homey background, to your soothing voice, this is one of the most pleasant, even comforting, reaction channels on UA-cam.
@@jenmurrayxo Hi Jen, are you planning on watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? I may get roasted by saying this but it is not as bad that some make out. I can't say much as I don't want to be a spoiler but you will be pleasantly surprised and you will be ready for Indy 5.
31:36 You've got to love how Indy's whole demeanor is basically, "What's everyone looking at? Are we just taking in the view? I mean, it _is_ a very nice view."
I used to wonder about the backstory of that guy, and this explanation makes alot of sense given he had so much influence on him, and couldn't have been just from that one encounter when he was a kid..
Henry Jones Sr and Marcus Brody are the most under-rated team on the planet. "Henry! Henry! The pen! Don't you see? The Pen is Mightier than the Sword!"
River did such a good job playing Indy, as he had his mannerism down to a science, really made you believe he was young Indy. Sadly, we never got to see him reach the heights of his talents, but we did get a small touch of them in movies like this. RIP
Psst - there is a 4th movie. The A story is wacky but the B story is one you will love "Crystal Skull". Also I googled if there will be an Indy 5 movie: The fifth and final Indiana Jones movie has an official release date: June 30, 2023. Harrison Ford himself announced the news onstage during Thursday's Star Wars Celebration, where Lucasfilm also revealed the first official look at Indiana Jones back in action. (Final since Harrison Ford is 80)
"You don't sleep with Indiana Jones and then betray him. Im sorry, No!" - Jen Murray Something to make you go hmm. As a kid George Lucas spent many a days in the backseat of his car, with a dog as his co-pilot. That dog was named Indiana and was the inspiration for Chewbacca. Very nice review as always Jen, thanks. 👍🙋♂️
Considering how good Raider of the Lost Ark is, this is a great third movie. The addition of Indy's dad added a perfect dynamic and the story gives some nice character backstory. I saw it in the cinema and it delivered, one of my top 5 movies ever.
Dr. Schneider was played by an Irish actress, Alison Doody (yes Doody, hey it's Irish) and ironically she earlier played a 'Bond girl' by the name of Jenny Flex in the 1985 James Bond film 'A View to a Kill' when Roger Moore was James Bond. Ironic because here she was acting next to Sean Connery, another ex-James Bond.
Sean Connery was a great Bond and started off the longest lasting franchise in cinema. Dr No was ok but I feel that Gold Finger is one of the true classics and I loved From Russia with love, with Robert Shaw (Quinn from jaws) playing an amazingly lethal protagonist
"I would've thought Indiana Jones' dad would be adventurous just like him, but [he] seems like an indoor boy." Indy's dad clearly brought the "professor" side to the genetic table, so it sure makes you wonder what Indy's mother was like, doesn't it? I bet she was quite a troublemaker -- maybe not too dissimilar from Marion! 😝
Fun fact the lion scrne in the circus train serves to: establish Indys interest in whips, and source the scar on Harrison Ford's chin (which he actually received in a minor car accident)
You must have had a blast editing this reaction. Especially going back and watching the first 15 minutes again knowing that was young Indiana. Great reaction as always.
@Jen Murray Indianna Indy was the name of George Lucas's dog he had a Malamute cross Husky that he would bounce ideas off when writing ✍️ hence the reference at the end "we named the dog Indianna." "You were named after the dog." "I have a lot of fond memories of that dog."' I thought you might find this amusing 😄.
So cool you didn't hear Indy's friend call him by his name at the begining, I think you were distracted by the phony Indy/Inspirational Indy. Your excitement when you realized that Indy was the kid was so awesome. You really are the best. You should go back and watch the intro again knowing that River Phoenix was his younger version. BTW way River Phoenix is older brother to the "Joker" Joquaim Phoenix.
Love when he finds the X in the library... he looks at it on the floor like he isn't sure but it's revealed when he goes up the stairs.... Like, Indy, you couldn't see that it was an X while on the floor? Seriously?
Ya I thought the same thing. A better way would have had him racing around looking for it then while on the stairs have him spotting it from above and "X marks the spot".
@@ronweber1402 The idea was always fine, but the 'X' had to be much larger and maybe in a kind of artistic design to mask the obviousness of it. Otherwise it's always struck me as a silly part of the movie. Still my favorite of the series though.
If you want to react to more Indiana Jones, I suggest the TV series "The Young Indiana Jones Adventures", it began 3 years later 1992-1993, and ran for two years. It has Indy meeting various famous people through the early 1900's Harrison Ford also makes appearances as older Indy in some of the episodes as he reminisces about his younger adventures. Then if you want to, watch the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, that would be the chronological order as they were released.
Enjoyed your reaction and love this movie! Most people like "Raiders" the most but this is my personal favorite. It's interesting how "Elsa" falls off the edge towards the end and soon after we hear, "Let it go!" :) Keep up the good work.
The four of them riding off into the sunset was quite a shot. The challenge was to find a sunset with nothing else in the picture - no trees, no poles, no fences, etc. One of the very few places on earth that met all the criteria was this guy's huge ranch in Texas. Anyway, that's what I read many years ago. I hope I remembered it right.
As great as this movie already is with Ford and Connery and the rest of the cast, River Phoenix as a young Indiana Jones makes it even that much more amazing! A fantastic actor, in fact one of the best and brightest of his generation, River was tragically taken from this world too soon.
Fun Fact for you, Jen: Sean Connery was initially reluctant to play the character of Indy's father because of the fact that he and harrison ford were only 12 years apart in age
I'm new to the channel, but I love that Jen just picked every twist and phrase before it happened. I think that speaks more to Spielberg tapping into the universality of the story than it being a bunch of tired stuff.
I love how when Indy punches someone, it sounds like somebody broke a 2x4 over a side of beef, and whenever he fires a pistol, it sounds like a deck gun on the Bismarck.
While Sean Connery was excellent in many roles, to the world at this time he WAS James Bond. Bond was the ultimate suave action hero, especially in the 60's and 70's. So seeing the ultimate action hero play against type as a bookworm, who can't believe that his son gets into these Bond-like adventures, just added to the humor and the joy. In the tank scene, when Connery subdues one of the Germans with a fountain pen, I have to believe that was an homage to Bond's gadgets, especially the fountain pen gadget in Connery's final Bond film. (You'll understand when you see Q issue Bond his gadgets, at the beginning of each movie.)
Now you know where Indy got his fear of snakes and the scar on his chin. Also, Indiana was the name of George Lucas' dog. The dog was also his inspiration for the character of Chewbacca.
This is the one movie that has it all. Action, romance, betrayal, Nazis, history, Grail lore, humor... Definitely the best one of them all. The casting was perfect for everyone, especially Sean Connery. For a great movie with him in it is "Highlander".
Fun fact: Connery was only 12 years older than Ford. When an interviewer brought this up with Ford, asking how he could have had a son at so young an age, he replied "Well, if you knew Sean."
"Imagine having a snake in your pants..." 2:57 Phrasing! (I'm sure others have made the joke, but I can't resist) This really was the perfect end to the franchise & like many others I wish they hadn't tried to continue it. Oh well, that's for you to judge for yourself.
Wonderful chemistry between the two of them in this. For me, this stands shoulder to shoulder with the first film. As always, Jen, your humour and cuteness make this a very enjoyable video. Xxx
Sean Connery and Roger Moore were and are the most recognizable James Bond actors. Indiana jones and the last crusade is often the favorite among viewers of the Indiana jones trilogy with Raiders of the Lost Ark often a very close second. There is a fourth Indiana Jones Movie released in 2008 called, ‘Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull’ with a musical score once again provide by and composed by John Williams. According to google it received generally good views from critics and more polarized and likely varied reviews from general audiences. For some viewers the best part of the fourth Indiana Jones movie is seeing Indians jones reconnect with original love interest Marion Ravenwood. I leave it up to you Jen if you want to check it out and decide for yourself if the fourth Indiana Jones movie is a good or at last decent follow up to the original Indiana Jones Trilogy. Love your reaction channel and your movie reactions. I also enjoy your beautiful and sweet personality.
What to do when one wakes up too early continue my jenventure ofc 🎉 this was a lot of fun and a lovely way to start the day and seeing ya fingers twiddling with the cord always makes me happy ( its the little things ) 🙂 cheers jen this was awesome
After watching your excitement over this installment of Indiana Jones, I’m even more convinced you’ll love National Treasure- there’s a similar father/son repartee, not giving anything away- thats similar to The Last Crusade
Hi Jen, would love to see you react to The Mask of Zorro. It's a swashbuckling adventure starring Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It's a really fun watch!
This is the ultimate Father and Son Story. It made $474 million dollars against a $60 million dollar budget, making it the highest grossing movie of 1989. It won the Oscar for Best Sound Editing. The opening scene was going to involve Indy battling ghosts in a haunted Scottish castle but this was too similar to Speilberg's movie Poltergeist. The original script had Indy battling the Monkey King over The Tree Of Knowledge, which would later today the into The Holy Grail.
The snake bit with young Indy gave all new meaning to that phrase ‘ is that a snake in your pants or are you happy to see me?’ 🤣 Also that betrayal was very ‘cold’ by Elsa..🙃 And lol at ‘shut it frauline’ 😂
I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t think the fourth movie, Crystal Skull, is all that bad. Is it better than any in the original trilogy? No. But it’s not unwatchable and it has its moments. If anything, it brings back the power couple of Indy and Marion together again to their rightful place of being the only couple that matters in the franchise.
I don't think you are in the minority. It definitely isn't as good as either Raiders or Last Crusade but I think it's better than Temple. It's just the Crystal Skull haters are so loud and annoying they are like the Star Wars fanbois who lose their shit over every little thing.
Hi Jen,finally got to the best Indy movie (hooray! ) I'm going to try again with this suggestion, Tom Selleck in Quigley down under. A new leading man to add to your collection. Great film, and probably his best role. Please give it a chance.
Jen "ewww can you imagine having a snake in your pants." Every Male Fan: "Heeeeey?" But if you want a god Sean Connery movie you need to check out The Rock. It will appeal to tactical Jens action movie side, and you get crazy ass Nick Cage to boot. The one thing in never got was why they made Marcus and Salla a comedy act in this movie? They were so much more professional and helpful to Indy in Raiders. DAAAAAAAMN Jen got savage on Elsa after the Betrayal. I love how so many people miss the fact that the only time his dad calls him Indiana is when he talks to him like he's correcting a dog. And it worked 😂
The 4th one is actually pretty good. I like it better than Temple of Doom. My ranking is 1) Raiders, 2) Last Crusade, 3) Crystal Skull, 4) Temple of Doom. It is an older Indy, but some important character development takes place in #4. The fandom did a reaction much like Star Wars fans have done on 7 - 9. Instead of just enjoying the movie, many fans throw a tantrum because it's not exactly what they wanted. Watch Crystal Skull for what it is, a fun adventure movie with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Plus, once you start on a set, you kinda gotta complete the set. 🙂
I totally agree except I put Last Crusade ahead of Raiders but I like Crystal Skull better than Temple because Kate Capshaw's constant screaming drives me nuts. But I still throw it on once in a while anyway because hey, it's Indiana Jones and I like Short Round.
31:49 "Why are you sitting there, _resting,_ when we're so near the _end?"_ "I can't go anywhere, now. I don't have my _hat._ Oh, here it is. Okay. I'm on my way."
So glad you finally watched this Jen! This has been one of my benchmark movies since 5 year old me saw it in the theater in the summer of 1989. As I've said before, I collect autographs; some of my favorite autographs that I own are from this movie - the actor who played Kazim, the leader of the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword, just did a signing, his autograph is on its way to me. The actor who played Fedora, the man who crowned young Indy, signed to me: "You lost today Donald, but that doesn't mean you have to like it," which is framed in my living room. And Jeffrey Boam, the screenwriter, got this job because Steven was so impressed with his script for Interspace, which Steven produced right before this, that he hired Jeffrey to write this. Sadly, Jeffrey passed away in 2000, but I'm good friends with his son and he signed an autograph for me. Indy jumping from the horse to the tank is one of my favorite stunts in a movie. That was done by Vic Armstrong, basically Harrison's go-to stuntman. I have that signed by him and in about to get another of his from Raiders. The stage where the grail temple was built, was built for The Empire Strikes Back. It was sadly torn down and now there is a grocery store on the site, sitting next to Elstree Studios in London. Alison Doody, the leading lady in this, did her first (and really only) ever signing a year ago for our Indy autograph group on Facebook, and hers is among my collection.
Connery's casting was very impactful for James Bond fans. Also, "Indiana" isn't Ford's character's name. That was the dogs name. His name is also Henry Jones. That's why his dad calls him junior. The 4th one isn't as good, but they have filmed some of the 5th one in my hometown, and it sounds like that's meant to be pretty good. There are some parts of the 4th one that I think you will like.
That "Grail Theme" by John Williams is exquisite. Just when you think the "Ark Theme" couldn't be topped, he pops up with this. I'm not a particularly religious person, but my word, he nails that sort of thing. I also love how Jen appreciates the scores in the movies she watches, a very appealing quality.
Top notch reaction Jen!! For a top notch movie!! I remember seeing this in the theater, was my senior year in high school, was such a great adventure to watch, and it still is, I am glad you enjoyed it as much as you did, thanks again for watching it and letting us see your reaction, will see u on the next one!! Take care!😃😃👍👍
Well done Jen, you are a joy to watch. There is only one more movie that I know of, "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull." It wasn't as good as any of these first 3, but it was enjoyable. I think you should watch it.
38:09: Jen, George Lucas’ dog was named Indiana, and was so big he sat in the front with him when he drove, giving him the idea for Chewbacca as a co-pilot. “Willie” was the Temple of Doom’s writers’ dog, and “Short Round” was from Spielberg’s dog!
The reason that Spielberg cast Sean Connery was because James Bond was one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones. So quite literally James Bond is the Father of Indiana Jones.
You HAVE to watch Crystal Skull! It's better than you've heard. It feels more like an Indiana Jones movie than Temple of Doom if you ask me. And if you want to see 5 when it comes out, how can you bypass a whole entry? Amiright? It's all going to be from the same continuity. You won't regret it --even if you end up not caring for it, you'll be glad you watched. Trust me.
Didn't think it was that bad. Liked it more than The Temple of Doom. It's also set in the the 50's and yes the return of a character she likes, makes it worthwhile
I found it fascinating….when Indy runs into h. Here’s a guy who wants power, in any fashion, even searching out relics….gets a 40+ years of research diary, maps and all to the greatest relic of all time. Has no idea, then his ego signs it…….Jones for the biggest trolling ever!!
You need to see the crystal skull, don't let anyone's opinions dictate you. Go into the movie with an open mind and realize it's totally, different feel and as long you do that you can make up your own mind and critic it your own way without any influence.
Hey Jen. This is my favorite of the Indiana Jones films. Mainly because it stars my two favorite actors of all time (interchangeably numbers 1 and 2). - 2:46 - That kid is the late River Phoenix, older brother of Joaquin Phoenix. He was a victim of drug abuse in the 1990s, dying at age 24(?). He was chosen to play Indy after playing Harrison Ford's son in 'The Mosquito Coast' directed by Peter Weir ('Dead Poets Society' and ''Witness' with Harrison Ford). - There is only 10 years age difference between Ford and Connery. When the idea was floated that this film would feature Indy's father, it was Spielberg who wanted Connery for the role. Mainly due to the fact that before 'Raiders', Spielberg had been lobbying the producer of the James Bond films, Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli to hire him to direct a Bond film. Since Sean Connery played 007 for six films, it was a way of paying homage to Bond, one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones. Bond was kind of Jones's dad in a weird way. - 23:24 - A few years after this came out, George Lucas created the TV series 'The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles '. During the series, Indy (played by Sean Patrick Flannery) met all sorts of historical figures like T.E Lawrence (of Arabia fame), Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, George Patton, George Gershwin, Winston Churchill, Pancho Villa, and many others. So, Indy coming face to face with Hitler is par for the course. - 38:18 - Indiana Jones was named after George Lucas's dog, Indiana...and he was also the inspiration for Chewbacca. Indiana was an Alaskan Malamute. - Dr. Elsa Schneider was played by Alison Doody, an Irish actress who had two big films, but most of her work has been lower budget or TV. Besides this, she made her debut as Jenny Flex in the final Roger Moore as James Bond film 'A View To A Kill', where she was also a villain (a lowkey one). I really liked her performance, but she kinda went...nowhere. I vote for 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' because I enjoyed it. It is very different, as it takes inspiration from the red scare films of the 1950s, not the 1930s serials like the main three. But there is a returning character you might like. No SPOILERS. So far there is only this other film, but there will be a new Indiana Jones movie in theaters in 2023. The cast for 'Indiana Jones 5' (no title yet) will be Ford with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, and Antonio Banderas, but it will be directed by James Mangold (The Wolverine, Logan, Kate & Leopold, Walk The Line, and Ford VS. Ferrari). John Williams will compose the score, after which he will retire at age 90. Spielberg is an Executive Producer and Lucas is not involved. Since Ford is 80 this year, it will be his last time wearing the Fedora.
This brings back great memories. I went to see this film with my best friend Jason. We ate a tasty pizza at my folks house beforehand. We then drove to the theater at my favorite mall. I remember they showed the movie in either THX or Dolby surround sound (Multi- speaker sound ) The movie was amazing ! I was 19. Cheers and thanks.....
So much is quietly explained in the opening scene in the desert, even down to us getting to actually see Indiana's namesake as young Indy went running into the house and the dog watched him dash past. 🙂 Hate of snakes, scar on chin, affection for whips, and the dog. Perfect. It was nice having the love interest also be a semi-villain, dedicated, much like the group in the beginning, more to recovering treasures for pay than for understanding or appreciating the actual worth of them. And having a semi-villain, in Kazim of the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword, actually be a hero, though one with a different final goal than the Jones group. And the actor playing Kazim had an appropriate background for playing such a character, as the actor attended Holy Cross Seminary in Istanbul when he was younger. 🙂 Such an excellent movie and the perfect final chapter to the Indiana Jones series, by which I mean don't watch any of the later cash grabs profaning the name. Looking forward to classic Sean Connery in Dr. No soon!!!!!
Recommendations (very much so!): -- _"Highlander"_ [another excellent Connery movie!] -- _"Quigley Down Under"_ [introduces you to Tom Selleck(!)] -- _"The Mask Of Zorro"_ [another great Connery flick!] -- _"Oscar"_ [an amazing Mafia-Comedy w/ Sylvester Stallone as the lead, and never-ending 'straight man'] -- _"Without A Clue"_ [a truly hilarious Sherlock Holmes spoof, that you can really enjoy even if you're not a Holmes fan!] *Enjoy!*
Another GREAT reaction! Thank you! And a newbie to Sean Connery, eh? Then you must go back to the beginning, and see the first ever James Bond movie, Dr. No (1962) !

Aw you're so nice! Thank you so much for watching my videos right from the start ☺️🙏
Supposedly, in the original script, the man wearing Indy’s hat and jacket was Abner Ravenwood, Indy’s mentor and Marion’s father. How cool is that?
Im sorry, No!" - Jen Murray
Something to make you go hmm.
That location at the end, carved out of rock, is a real place called Petra
"Your father is the one who's disappeared." Jen: "You could have led with that." LOL
She's a REMARKABLE beauty, too.
Sean Connery was a great Bond and started off the longest lasting franchise in cinema. Dr No was ok but I feel that Gold Finger is one of the true classics and I loved From Russia with love, with Robert Shaw (Quinn from jaws) playing an amazingly lethal protagonist
I despise Goldfinger. It’s the only movie where Bond rapes a woman.
Lovw when he gets whacked over the head by his dad... His reaction "Thank God" referring to the vase being a fake, not Thank God youre ok🤣🤣
" i should have watched this with my dad"
she had no idea how true that was.
3:30: Jen, the whip hitting his face was an in-joke, explaining how he got a scar on his chin. In reality, Harrison got the scar in an auto accident.
I love that your books on the top shelf are arranged by color.
Fun fact the lion scrne in the circus train serves to: establish Indys interest in whips, and source the scar on Harrison Ford's chin (which he actually received in a minor car accident)
New name for this movie: "Two Nerds in a Tank."
You must have had a blast editing this reaction. Especially going back and watching the first 15 minutes again knowing that was young Indiana. Great reaction as always.
I have an amazing editor Steph G who does most videos now! Lol yes I did figure that out eventually, so cool 😆
@@jenmurrayxo I love your reactions the most beloved expressions xxx
@Jen Murray Indianna Indy was the name of George Lucas's dog he had a Malamute cross Husky that he would bounce ideas off when writing ✍️ hence the reference at the end "we named the dog Indianna." "You were named after the dog." "I have a lot of fond memories of that dog."' I thought you might find this amusing 😄.
Please watch the Harrison Ford movie "Air Force One". It's very underrated.
Yes yes yes yes!!!!!!!
I saw this one when it came out, tho my sister & I might do a rewatch cuz neither of us remember it at all
His inexperience with the whip was used to explain the scar that adult Indy has on his chin.
Sean Connery gently calling his son "Indiana" always gets me
The Hunt For Red October is a good Sean Connery movie Jen!
Hunt for Red October is on my channel!
"I didn't know you could fly a plane."
"Fly? Yes. Land? No."
It's Harrison Ford in real life.
Fun Fact for you, Jen:
Sean Connery was initially reluctant to play the character of Indy's father because of the fact that he and harrison ford were only 12 years apart in age
Yes! This is my all-time favorite Indiana Jones movie! Rest in Peace River Phoenix.
RIP Sean Connery too.
The decision to make the bridge a simple optical illusion was a clever idea.
Now you know where Indy got his fear of snakes and the scar on his chin.
Also, Indiana was the name of George Lucas' dog. The dog was also his inspiration for the character of Chewbacca.
Damn, that must be one messed-up looking dog!
This is the one movie that has it all. Action, romance, betrayal, Nazis, history, Grail lore, humor... Definitely the best one of them all. The casting was perfect for everyone, especially Sean Connery. For a great movie with him in it is "Highlander".
Highlander doesn’t hold up as well as I’d like, but still worth it for sure!
@Dayspring I think so. To each their own.
Fun fact...the guy who played Hitler also played Admiral Kendel Ozzel in Empire Strikes Back. :)
And Donovan was played by the guy who was General Veers in Empire Strikes. And he acted with another Bond alumni, Roger Moore, in For Your Eyes Only.
Thanks!
Fun fact: Connery was only 12 years older than Ford. When an interviewer brought this up with Ford, asking how he could have had a son at so young an age, he replied "Well, if you knew Sean."
"Imagine having a snake in your pants..." 2:57
Phrasing!
Xxx
29:13: I’ve never seen someone make a Beverly Hills Cop reference for this scene! 👏🏼🍌
Jen: "This one is really funny!"
Me: "This one played the dwarf warrior Gimli son of Gloin in the " Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
The Treasury at Petra looked incredible in this film, really thought it was amazing as a little kid. Still do.
After watching your excitement over this installment of Indiana Jones, I’m even more convinced you’ll love
National Treasure- there’s a similar father/son repartee, not giving anything away- thats similar to The Last Crusade
The snake bit with young Indy gave all new meaning to that phrase ‘ is that a snake in your pants or are you happy to see me?’ 🤣
Also that betrayal was very ‘cold’ by Elsa..🙃 And lol at ‘shut it frauline’ 😂
I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t think the fourth movie, Crystal Skull, is all that bad. Is it better than any in the original trilogy? No. But it’s not unwatchable and it has its moments.
If anything, it brings back the power couple of Indy and Marion together again to their rightful place of being the only couple that matters in the franchise.
Well, you just fucking spoiled it didn't you? Now there's even less reason for her to watch it. 👍
It was unnecessary, not bad. I mean you had melting faces in Raiders
Spoiler much? Sheesh!
@@davidhowell7279 Her face is in the movie poster. Hardly a spoiler.
Good suggestion.
Indiana Jones last crusade movie, my favorite Indiana Jones movies. 🤠👍👌
Loved this. Don't second guess yourself. You nailed it right away with Schneider.
Jen "ewww can you imagine having a snake in your pants."
Every Male Fan: "Heeeeey?"
But if you want a god Sean Connery movie you need to check out The Rock.
Jen is almost as excited for a map as she is for explosions.
A really fun movie that is very re-watchable. Great job Jen, very cool reactions.
I remember seeing this one in the movie theater. Batman came out the same year, 1989 was a great year for movies!
31:49 "Why are you sitting there, _resting,_ when we're so near the _end?"_
"I can't go anywhere, now.
Every time I watch this movie I get depressed when I see River Phoenix as young Indiana Jones. It still seems like yesterday. R.I.P. River.
I think you should watch it.
this one is my favorite! HF & SC played so perfectly off each other. and SC held his own as a dashing, ass-kicking archaeologist.
Trust me.
At the very least, she'd see the return of one of the characters she already loves (aside from Indy)!
@@TheNighthawke502 it is worth it just for that
Didn't think it was that bad.
Maybe the best part 3 in any movie franchise, along with _Back to the Future Part 3._
You need to see the crystal skull, don't let anyone's opinions dictate you. Go into the movie with an open mind and realize it's totally, different feel and as long you do that you can make up your own mind and critic it your own way without any influence.
The whip, the scar- good exposition.
Please check out several Harrison Ford movies:
1985 Witness
1986 The Mosquito Coast
1988 Frantic
No one has reacted to these 3 classics.
The movie begins in 1912 where it has been a year since Anna Jones death. You have to keep drinking from the cup to stay young.
Such an excellent movie and the perfect final chapter to the Indiana Jones series, by which I mean don't watch any of the later cash grabs profaning the name.
Looking forward to classic Sean Connery in Dr. No soon!!!!!
I gave a physical applause when Dr. No was mentioned. x

8:10 "Did he have a close relationship with his father? Obviously not if he didn't even know he was missing."
Relationships between fathers and sons are _often_ awkward.
Seems like River really studied Harrison's mannerisms and the way he speaks. It just now dawned on me that River played Harrison's son in The Mosquito Coast a few years earlier. I'd totally forgotten about that one.
