- Here is this Hoover Encore Supreme U5059-930 from June 1995. This machine is in great shape. Though the original seven blade fan was broken. It sounded atrocious. But since I first tested it, I have installed a twenty blade fan in this machine. So now it runs smoothly, and has a lot of power. Enjoy!
Nice machine! Reminds me of my late granny's Elite Supreme. Her vacuum was also made in 1995.
Great to see that back up and running again (sounding nice and quieter with the 20 blade fan), I wouldn't want to see it go to waste or even get parted out. I really love the powder blue color to this, there were only a few more Elites in that color that I know of. I have the same model, since it was a vacuum I grew up with from childhood (also that one is about half a year older than mine), but what I would really love to find is the Convertible Elite in this exact same blue color. I also find it very hilarious that this (among many other select year Elites from 95, maybe 94) has the provision for a handle mounted power switch (it was probably originally for a Legacy), but for whatever reason they needed to rush these out the door, but already had the handles made, so they threw it on some Elites from around 1995 and capped off the switch provision up top, so at least you've got a rare switch blank model of Elite.
It lives on!
Love the old Hoover's I'm working on getting my 2004 Wintunnel cleaned serviced and repaired it needs a new power switch it's stuck on so for now I've just been plugging it in my surge box and turning it off and on that way other than that it works good and has a crap ton of suction at the hose!
You can’t keep a good vacuum down.
