LIR is in my top10 UFO/Schenker tracks just because the solo break is one of Michael's most artistic and "prettiest" breaks for a hard rock compositional guitarist.
Agreed! Never understood why he moved away from Gibson... then again... I've tried buying a few and they aren't cheap for us normal punters. Michael wouldn't have that problem. Maybe Gibson will do a signature series for him now...
i wonder if all along he has played these offstage he seems to be quite at home with it -the guitar sounds fantastic it seems to have more feeling or sense of urgency NOW LETS GET HIM SOME LONG HAIR EXTENSIONS AND A JEAN JACKET !!!
The 2 minute solo break starting at 1:38 is one of the best slow tempo melodic solos I've ever heard. Its amazing he can still play this well 45 years after Strangers in the Night.
It’s beautiful and his transitions are godlike. Every time I watch these back I’m amazed just how close I was able to get and how even closeups of Robin McC were so intimate. A number of times he looks right down at the camera.
@PicsnLicks Almost as good as Proshot (on stage videography)....if you want to see a great Proshot video, go watch Aerosmith perform "Nobodies Fault" in Detroit (early 2000s)
Dean Guitars are good for Heavy Metal with a deeper more distorted tone quality...then theres the Gibson which by far more superior than a Dean when it comes to tasty and bluesy riffs and leads...end of story
@@WillyAffentranger-jb1oi I wasn’t a mad fan of Robin before the gig, but listening to him for the night and watching how he worked with the crowd, I was impressed for a man of 70+ he was singing the whole range especially the UFO material better than Phil did when he was in Belfast a couple of years ago. He loves what he’s doing & respects the material, and that means more to me than being an icon.

Nothing can replace a real Gibson sound sorry. Dean lack the Resonance and Attack the Gibson PUs have
The Dean doesn't even come close.... :)
now if we can get rid of the hat and neck hiding scarf we will have our original michael back !!!
I think those are maybe something to do with time marching on sadly...
