after getting out of my house and seeing how people live life. for most people, when they watch this show, all they hear is jesse pinkman when todd speaks. im the opposite. i only finished bojack recently, and i just started breaking bad for the first time- so when jesse speaks, all i hear is todd 😭
SAME. I totally forgot Aaron voiced Todd so when I started watching BB, I thought, "Jesse sounds so much like him." When I remembered, BOOM all I could hear and see is Todd making meth with Walt 😭
One of his very first lines in the show is "we don't need to put labels on things" and I can't help but think of how it relates to his coming out storyline in later seasons. Did they plan that from the start?
Probably not since it’s literally the first ep and Todd coming out as asexual didn’t happen till like season5. The writers most likely just checked that they were being consistent.
Omg how did I never realize that Bojack treats Todd the way Bojack's parents treated him as a kid, as a good for nothing freeloader that no one ever asked for and the perfect target for all their bullying and frustration... That scene in the car shows that he basically sees him as a kid and thus has zero patience for him
Bojack may be a terrible friend, but his laziness as a landlord and a friend gave Todd a good environment to grow as a person. He found people that supported his spontaneity and willing to hire him. I kinda felt hopeful about myself at the end of the show. Todd didn't grow up to be the standard 'adult' or boyfriend material, but his own capable and loving self.
Letting todd be his “house guest” is probably the nicest thing/the thing with the biggest positive impact bojack has ever done and he didn’t even do it on purpose. It happened as a result of laziness/unwillingness to do anything about getting ride of a random from a party who overstayed his welcome. Absolutely insane 😅
If I had a nickel every time Aaron Paul played a younger, washed up sidekick character to a down on his luck, morally grey character played by an older, grumpy sounding actor, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened
anyone else find it kinda ironic that Aaron Paul’s character in this show is called Todd, and Aaron’s most iconic character was literally enslaved by a guy named Todd
13:01 ever had friends who give EXTREMELY confidential info and you're basically as qualified as Todd? I can't tell you how easily people tell me these sensitive things about their lives to me and leave me extremely stressed about just knowing. I'm not even a special person with intellect, I just happen to be decent active listener. And I know way too much a out the weirdest things on people. I'm 100% sure some ppl can relate to this.
I think Bojack allowed Todd to stay because helping a "gay guy" might make him feel better about what he did to Herb, and after finding out he wasn't gay he kept him around because he hates to be faced with the fact that he has no (male) friends.
Todd is like a somewhat dumb but funny antithesis of Bojack, by far the most comical and funnier character in the series, and my personal favorite one, alongside his antics and the unexpected consequences of his follies, is a pity that no more things will be show about him , the series needed a little more of Todd, perhaps even a story arc with him as main protagonist, i believe that everyone have inside someone like him: a creative, funny part ready to get out and share his cheerfulness with the world, i'm really going to miss that funny asexual guy, !TODD ROCKS¡.
12:38 i didn’t notice mr peanutbutter ever smoked until i saw this clip just now edit: iirc i also remembered seeing him smoke a cigar in princess carolyn’s 2003 flashback
@@shonenfanboy1943 I will say wholeheartedly he would be better than Reynolds. Reynolds only plays two modes of Deadpool-asshole or court jester. Where’s the pain he’s masking? Aaron Paul would bring the pain, and the mask that comes with it.
I saw Bojack before Breaking Bad so those Cartel flashbacks, the Nazis, Todd's realization that Bojack sabotaged him, and just his name being Todd were good enough, but after watching Breaking Bad, they're hilarious 😂.
I don't know who this Aaron Paul fellow is, but everyone seems to have positive things to say about him. Seems like the kinda guy you wouldn't mind crashing on your couch for a decade
i just finished watching all 5 seasons of breaking bad and literally just found out jesse and todd are played by the same person. I don't know how I didn't recognize the voice
my favorite moment is when he cooked meth with a bald guy in an RV
😂😂😂😂
What episode
@@mikkey246 breaking bad reference
@@mikkey246 Todd’s voice actor (Aaron Paul) played a character that did this in Breaking Bad
Seems like such a todd thing to do right?
He’s Jesse Pinkman without the crippling depression.
He's basically Jessie from season 1 if he remained a simple stoner and didn't grow through a traumatic adventure
Jesse if he listened to Skyler when she said "You might wanna consider a different line of work", and decided to become a couch-surfer
I don’t know why but he reminds me of a goofier and happier non alcoholic version of Shane from Stardew valley
and asexual

Todd seems like a guy you wouldn’t expect to do a lot, but in reality does a lot more than anyone expects.

Basically Todd is Jesse.
He did invent Fisto Roboto
That's literally just a summation of his entire character. 🙄
Of course if you expect little from someone they will do more than what you expect.
“You Mr.White, I’m asexual yo!” “I’m happy for you Jessie, but let’s get back to cooking meth.”
I feel like that’s too nice of Walt to say. The entirety of BrBa is basically him emotionally abusing and belittling Jessie
@@galaxyghost1340 yeah but Mr.White doesn’t abuse over sexuality
Well he did get betrayed which traumatized him. Takes a bad day to be sexually retarded

@@StonedCrackerofHell It happened season 2-3
i think they planned a good amount of it out, like they had a solid outline
I don’t think so because in the first season he seems like someone who has cum socks under Bojack’s couch.
God I hope not, that was by FAR the worse storyline in the show and if they were planning it then they might be much worse writers than I thought
Todd is the type of person that you can't tell if they are really smart or really stupid
Really stupid but he fails upwards.
He struggles with logic and putting things together, but is insanely creative and puts a lot of work towards ideas
He's definitely both.....but somehow manages to do both at the same time...

the generational cycle of abuse, it's not only applied to Sarah Lyn, it's also applied to Todd
Todd least has the ability to be so cookie that most of his insults just fly over him. Also he can do all the things he couldnt do as a lid
It's also the reason he keeps him around

Kind of sad at the beginning when Todd says deep down Bojack has a good heart

I love how Mr Peanutbutter's "WHAT?" at the very end of the video basically sums up this whole compilation.
Best of Todd. Literally every time he is on screen. Not only in this video but the show itself. Todd always steals the spotlight.
Todd is precious and too good for this world . We must protect him at all costs
