This was very helpful. Just had my first 24 hr call. I felt so dumb. I actually feel dumb everyday. I think about feeling dumb, I almost hit a car bc I was so distracted by my thoughts. But this was very comforting.
In the post match pre graduation limbo now. Easy to get scared I’m not prepared for intern year in NYC in 3 months…nothing I heard here was really new - but the reminders that we don’t get here by accident are always welcome
Thanks so much for the insight. Though only an M2, I hope to keep this information in my back pocket as I continue my medical education. Do you have any tips for those still in med school to prepare for residency?
That's a great question! Never a bad idea to look ahead and figure out how to best prepare. I would say right now, as an M2, there honestly is not really anything specific you need to be doing. Especially the case if you have not picked what specialty you're going to pursue in the Match. I'd say the best thing to do right now is just learn what you're being taught in M2 as best you can and explore any specialities you're interested in as much as you can.
@@JakeGibbonsMD Thanks! Im interested in going into oncology and have been doing research during the summer. Starting up the pre-clinical again in a month

I’ve been there feeling like you don’t know anything. Totally know where you’re coming from. You’ll for sure get better and hang in there!
Thank you, Dr. Jake!
Appreciate you watching! Thanks very much

Glad to hear it, best of luck in your endeavors. It's a year that is really built up but it ends up being just fine.
@@JakeGibbonsMD I’m gonna plug into that energy. Thanks Jake!
Appreciate this man!
Thanks for watching! Best of luck

@@JasonKrastein Sounds like you're on the right track! Not much else you need to be doing at this point in my opinion.
@@JakeGibbonsMD Thank you! Appreciate that. Just hard being a type A med student thinking that there is always more to do
Thank you for the great and heartfelt video, you remind me of Ben Shapiro!!
what Ben will be like if he was a doctor instead of his wife ☺️!
