- The full championship in Shufflepuck Café, played on an emulated old Macintosh thanks to Mini vMac. I spent many hours playing this game in my old Macintosh SE, and never beat the championship. I decided it was about time.
This is the original Macintosh version, which was later ported to Atari, Amiga, DOS and other platforms. You can learn more about it at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shufflep...
Shufflepuck Café is a game by Christopher Gross, Lauren Elliott and Gene Portwood, and published by Brøderbund Software in 1988. Thank you guys!

A decent and responsive air hockey game, but its really about the atmosphere and "feel". Way ahead of its time in that respect
I played this game when I was a child and was THOROUGHLY creeped out by it. #nostalgia
Nick Ross LMFAO ME ALSO!! This is my first time viewing the game in 20 years. I was always horrified by it and it took me sometime to find it.
Same. Especially the second to last character. Shudder
@@MelodyWang9 It doesn't help that the game's only music consists of a 5-second loop of a low-fidelity recording of someone playing a ditty on a piano that's long overdue for tuning.
@@MelodyWang9
What about Nerual?
Same lol
Thanks for uploading… man that brought back the past
Finally! After 28 years I finally got to see how it ended (not much to see tho .. :p)
Thanks for uploading!
The characters are surprisingly well designed for a game of the time, with abilities and gimicks that really differentiate them. The drunk for instance gets worse the more he drinks. If a game stretches out long enough he plays hilariously badly. One of the upper mid players, I think the pig also had some weird gimmick where they got stronger the longer the match went, or something like that. Then there was the droid (not shown here) who you could program to play in all manner of styles for practice. Nueral mirroring you was another strategy you needed to learn.
Whoa.... I was just a little kid when I played the game and never realized
used to play this at school when i was 10... such a great game
everyones posting about they're memories and not giving you the props you deserve! Well done dude! you managed to make the games intense and exciting to watch aswell, great comeback.
Thank you very much! It was exciting playing again after all these years, I'm really glad you liked it! Have a nice day!
First game I ever played, instantly fell in love with gaming as a 7 year old. The atmosphere, the music, damn. Could have been just a shuffle puck sim but it was so much more!
I used to play this all the time on my uncle's Macintosh, such a classic! ^^

Wow, like a lot of people this unlocked some childhood memories. That fight against Lexan was toe-to-toe for a lot of it. Never could defeat the retired army pig myself.
Excellent work, thank you for uploading!
Ahhh, memories. I remember playing this game in Junior High. I believe the year was 1994. Loved this game. Biff was my favorite character.
It's great that you posted this, especially in this perfect resolution. By the way, you could always hit the puck more than once...a setup, and then a slam....
I tried that a few times (17:35 and 18:02, for instance), but I'm afraid it doesn't work as well in the emulator as it did in the real Mac. The mouse sometimes become glitchy, and therefore it's too risky. Thanks for your comment!
LOL Biff laughs like my old math teacher
Wow! Is this a single run? I could rarely ever beat Lexan. Good Shot!
This game's art style freaked me out as a kid.
That laugh by Biff torments my brother and I to this day. Partial to the woman that opens her shirt, as if telepathy air hockey wasn’t bad enough lol
Thank you for posting this. I loved that game.
Great game. I was always impressed with how smooth the gameplay felt on this version, much better than all the ports.
No way! You beat Biff?!
Wow, that's impressive.
9:53 NICE!
Great game! I used to love playing this in college on my old Mac Portable. Many hours of fun (and frustration). Thank you!
Geez now you made me feel old, I remember playing this on the school computers in junior high it was fun. I don't suppose someone out there could upload a collection of what each character does when they win or lose
That's interesting. I'll think about it!
@They're trying to see Be Jin's tits!!!
Thank you. I have missed this game, the quirky characters, and the haunting atmosphere.
My grandpa had 2 old school mac's "not old school at the time" when I was a kid and we would both play this next to each other. Also played Macpipes and Lemmings for the afternoon while my mom was at work.
Thanks for bringing back some forgotten memories.
Yeah!! Excellent game. Hours&Hours sitting And shuffling. Thank Ya for uploading this mash bunk!! Marvellous memories!! Have a great time, dudes!!
This is the first video game I ever played, couldn’t get far in the championship as I was only about 5 I think.
good stuff man. Good that you recorded it :)
I used to play that game on the old Macintosh of my grand father. Feels like a kid again.
Man this is a throwback. The robot guy always creeped me out
I remember playing this game in the 2nd grade. Wow I feel old.
I played this game for hours at school loved it
My favorite game when I was a child😂
A lot of memories with it!!! And matches with my brothers😌❤️👍🏻
Watching this, or listening to it in the background, is weirdly of relaxing.

Such nostalgia, used to play this on my brother's university computer when I was 5/6 in 1993/4 haha, great memories, thanks
MASTERPIECE!
Is not the air hockey, it s the dark ambience of this game that let you to play.
It s been a long time and finally I found it x33
Used to play this game every morning in advisory at Brady Middle School!
I remember playing this when i was just a child!..
Princess Bejin will teach you about life real early.
I played this game at Victoria Elementary school In Costa Mesa California..
pretty close at the end there. well done
This game is a masterpiece.
I just learned about this game by listening to a song (Shuffle On) in SoundShock 3: FM Funk Nirvana. I had no clue Vin the Dweeb and Nerual Ttoille were characters outside of that song.
0:25 - Skip
2:18 - Visine
4:32 - Vinnie
6:53 - Lexan
10:35 - Eneg

Amazing. You are the master of shufflepuck.
Lodin Ingvaldsen I must say the optical mouse really helps. It's just a different game! :)
I used to play this all the damn time, I loved it
thank you so much for posting this! brings me back. wish i could find this same black and white version to play on emulator! i grew up on this game!!
You can find several versions of the game on macintoshgarden.org/ and play it with Mini vMac. That's what I did! :)
The ones on mac garden have no sound :( tried it on various macs, no dice. Any other sites carry this?
dope! I remember it was 1990 when I played this because it was the birth of my nephew. I placed so many files in that trash just to hear the sound on his Macintosh plus. poor guy, who knows what I trashed lol
Nice one - and an ending on a hair's breadth!
When I used to play this game on my grandparent's old mac, I had to load the game from a floppy disk. I also had to use a boot disk just to get the machine itself to turn on. I remember that I would nag my older brother to boot it up because I didn't know how, lol. I was really young and not accustomed to using computers because those were the days before most people used computers.
Do you know which Macintosh model you played this on? I'm trying to figure out which model I had. I remember this game vividly.
I love this game, especially when playing with the original rectangular mouse on my PowerBook 520!
Yea, this game creeped me out as a kid in the 90s
cor blimey, the memories, the hours wasted........true classic! If you know about this you are a true mac head.
La primera vez que tuve que trabajar con una Macintosh, traía cargado este juego y se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos.
BIG BIFF BABY! man this was a solid game
i was in the first grade when i played this. 1994-1995.
Me too. This is some insane nostalgia. Truly.
first time was before '95 on mac classic lol ball mouse so many memories
When you are playing Nerual the headless creature and you want to slow down his mirror shot. start with your paddle further away and catch the puck like an egg
then after you slow it down heaps you can double hit
Que buenos recuerdos de este juego :)
I thought the sound was too good for a ZX Spectrum, didn't realise this was a Macintosh version.
I remember playing this game when I was 7-8 or so on my dad's mac. This game and the F1 game.
24:22 Best Part!
I remember playing this on my cousin's bootleg plug and play as a kid. The character designs creeped me out a lot.
I didn't know Woody Allen appeared in a classic Mac game
Need to find this game so I can play it again.
the NOSTALGIA 🥴
wish they made this game into a app I remember it was the 3rd guy u used to get beat by would love to try again
OMG!!! I used to love this game so much!! We had it on an old Mac..brings back so many memories. I also used to have a crush on the lizard man...bit weird haha
Do you remember which specific model of macintosh you played this on? I remember this being one of the games I played as a kid on our Macintosh... but am having trouble figuring out which model it was.
@@rach87el it was a Macintosh Performa 630 (I actually still have it!!)
The pig with the twisting ear.
That gave me fucking nightmares.
One of the first video games I ever played.
Me: "I couldn't give two f*cks about sports."
Also me: (watches the whole video)
Lexan looks like Squidward.
This game was awesome, loved playing it every chance I got! (which was often ;) Still, beating Biff was always hard, and I don't think I ever did without the power boost. Did you win the game in Tournament Mode?
Me: i'm just visitor that enjoy
Bejin: i'm just woman that telekenesis
For some time as a kid I've had a Mac with just this game installed. It was weird and hypnotic. I think you could've played the robot bartender as well?
Nihil Quest That's right. But the bartender was a practice opponent, you could configure it as you needed. Thus, he is not a real contender in the championship. Thanks for your comment!
nostalgia x10000
I remember this game I always liked the Grim Reaper Guy.
I played the nes version and my, this one feels like a dark fantasy game
I had so many nightmares about Lexan as a kid holy fuck. 10:30, his loss animation haunted me for years!
Cool! I never managed to beat it.
ah the ol' computer lab had this game loaded on every mac... and everyone that dared play this game ended up crashing the mac they were using :P i played oxyd most of the time

this game always made me laugh so hard...
wow school computer memories
i played this game with father's Mac2. super nostalgy.
I just found out this version (previously I only knew the NES version). This one looks creepy.
WHY DIDNT YOU PLAY AGAINST THE ROBOT. I remember you could
Love biffs laugh . Hahahah
the only game with no sound on sheepshaver os 9.0 -_- help anyone? it's enabled in the menu, but no dice..
it's the same for me on my Mac Performa 6300cd, no sound in shufflepuck cafe, same with my Power Mac 6100 and iMac g3, i guess only Mac Plus, SE, Classic, Classic II, II, IIcx, IIci, IIsi, Quadra 700, etc. only supported the sound, no later macs.
I always found this game scary as a child.
Remeber how sore my arm used to get from playing this game lol
Needs more monsquaz in it
Vr remake?
If you want a better score against Lexan the drunk alien, you have to just let him win the first few until he is drunk
😎👍
The robot??
