An important thing for Horde players to remember is that there is absolutely no need to actually go to westfall to get the westfall chicken. The ones in Brill work exactly the same way.
I actually did this years ago in Goldshire on an Alliance, too, so seriously, any chickens will look at you crazy. I have so many damn Westfall Chickens, since they were at one time only accessible on the character you originally acquired it with. Anyone know if the will help me out? ;b
The first with the “system failure” message is also likely a reference to LOST. Which is why there’s a hatch and skeletons. The system failure message in the show being the point where the plane was brought down, a code referring to the date and time.
I visited the Galapagos a few years before Lonesome George died. I never got to see Lonesome George since he was on Santa Cruz and I was on San Cristobal, but I did some research on the giant tortoises (I learned that each Island has/had a unique species of Tortoise) and actually got to see the breeding station for the San Cristobal Giant Tortoises. I was on a hiatus from WoW during Mists, but the Easter egg intrigued me when I first read about it. I was worried that he had been made into a rare, killable mob (which would've been disrespectful in my opinion) but somebody clarified that was not the case. I thought it was interesting how the Blizzard devs kinda showed they cared about that.
MadSeasonShow c'mon man. This is low hanging fruit for you. Your videos have been refreshingly original (and that's for a 13 year old game!). Love the amount of videos coming out, but follow your own path, skip a day and put in some work on Evolution of Wow: TBC... its so anticipated!
Well if there is one thing I have leaarned from watching all of Crendor's "Pointless Top Tens" it's that inside pointless things, are treasures. Let's begin....
Jason Mathers = Jason Voorhees + Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, who spent nearly the first half of his career wearing a hockey mask during skits, etc at his live shows and making numerous Jason Voorhees references in his lyrics.
Man the lordaeron one blew my mind first time i played a undead and was afk:ing in the throne room, WC3 was one of my favorit game and the scourge campain was the best.
Not removed, I literally ran my nearest toon there to check. You just have to speak to the mage to go back to "a different time in history", like in Blasted Lands. So cool, and creepy.
I Think the newton reference is being hit by an axe is understandable since he come up with the “gravity” law while chilling on “flying piece” of earth. Blizzard “killed the law of gravity” in this zone.
Didn't know most of these, I always enter these videos expecting to know everything but a fair few things here I didn't know. Pleasantly suprised, thanks for the video!
In The Valley of Four Winds town, don't remember the name, with all of the cooking stuff, there is a fruit vendor named Kim Won Gi. He's a Fruitdealer and this is referencing the Starcraft 2 professional player, Fruitdealer. This is one I discovered on my own so I'm pretty proud of it.
My favorite easter egg in the game is Challe's Home for Little Tykes. Also the spa in southern Ferelas. 2 more great ones: To my knowledge the only grey consumables are if you /wave to the vendor in Zul'Drak's Amphitheater of Anguish. Upon doing the wave, you will get either a sack of peanuts, bag of popcorn or ale. Each are unique save for the ale - you can have 2 of those. (while in the area, don't forget the log ride in Grizzly Hills). And speaking of grey items: the Tarnished Silver Necklaces you get from looting the graves inside of Zul'Farrak. Again, to my knowledge, these are the only items you can equip in a stack. You can roleplay Mr. T and have 20 on your neck at one time.
By all means keep making more of these. There were a few easter eggs I knew but then there were some I had no idea of or had seen and just didn't know the meaning. I'm about to watch your second easter egg video. Just letting you know I appreciate it lol.
That was my thought. Never seen the show but someone told me they had to go down a hatch and enter a string of numbers every so often or the world would end or something
Accualy you got the Newton Easter egg a bit wrong if i may correct you. You see since he is dead on a floating island with a bunch of floating island around. Since he is dead he never "disovered gravity. Hence the floating islands
In the Newton reference I believe the axe in the skull thing is a joke about him having a headache because if I’m remembering the story correctly he was sitting under tree trying to relax because he had a headache
Also in Val'sharah, near the aforementioned easter egg, by the cliff, there's a black goat named Black Philip. It's a reference to the 2016 horror movie called The Witch.
I remember back in vanilla rolling a few alliance characters and discovering the Westfall Chicken quest completely on accident... I then subsequently rolled up a troll rogue on another server and guided an Alliance newbie to the quest with lots of /point, /chicken, /beckon, to get him to perform the entire quest line... But when the egg spawned, I grabbed the egg for myself! I remember making quite a stir around the horde auction house by walking around with what was considered an Alliance only pet at the time. 😁
Great video as usual my dude. Maybe you’ve made one in the past but some sort of top 10 with NPCs. Non major NPCs with interesting stories, fates, contributions, etc no matter how small. We all have NPCs I feel like we remember for some reason or another
Weirdly for #8 you totally overlooked the easter egg/reference right in the background of your footage.. that Goat at the very top of that hill behind that "spooky house" in Val'Sharah is a goat named Black Phillip. Black Phillip is an obvious reference/easter egg to the goat named Black Phillip in the movie, The Witch. Blizzard even set this mob as a Demon rather than a Beast like other normal goats in-game.
Nice catch! I definitely should have noticed that since I watched that movie not too long ago...dang. Ah well, I'll keep it in mind if I make a part 2 =). Thanks for the heads up.
Dude I was a horde player in vanilla and I had the Westfall chicken. Some lowbies called in their 60 friends and I kept getting killed, they thought I was doing the chicken emote at them haha. Finally someone figured out what I was trying to do and helped hehe.
The island one is also a reference to the show LOST. There was a character in a bunker on the island, who was entering the same numbers over and over because he thought if he didn't, the island would explode.
I wonder if the Axe/Apple tree setting is actually in reference to the German Apfelschuss, you know the whole shooting an apple off a childs head using a bow and arrow...instead an axe was used here.
I remember finding an easter egg. In the bad lands. Vanilla wow. A reference to Conan the barbarian, a rocky small hill surrounded by wolves. If you go to the top of the Rocky Hill there's a hole in the top that takes you to a small Crypt where you'll find a king skeleton on a throne. Holding a sword very reminiscent to the movie Conan the Barbarian
About that chant in the Friday the 13th movie... Composer Harry Manfredini has said the famous "Chi, chi, chi; ha, ha, ha" in the film's score is actually "Ki, k,i ki; ma, ma, ma." It is meant to resemble Jason's voice saying "Kill, kill, kill; mom, mom, mom." --Tampa Bay Times
When I first saw the Westfall Chicken, I asked how he got it. He told me to cluck at a chicken fifty times, and it would give me a quest. I was quite gullible at the time, and after five /chicken emotes I got the idea to make a macro to make spamming it easy. It worked! Nowadays I would just google something like that because I've been fooled by trolls too often, but a much younger me was happy to have a pet chicken. 🐔
That same house has another Easter Egg. There's a black Demon Goat called Philip. it's a reference to the movie called The VVitch. Love your videos so great!
I remember the plants vs zombies minigame that I believe came in wrath iirc. It was pretty neat, not sure how many people bothered with it or knew it's reference.
Omg when I played Ascension with my brother, we went to Westfall and found the chickens, we both /chicken-ed at it and got the quests, we got the feed, and then, instead of /cheer-ing at it, we continued to /chicken at it, because we failed to read through the quest and forgot we had to cheer at it. So for like half an hour or something, we /chicken-ed at the chicken without anything happening. In the end, my bro killed it. Then we read the quest, saw the /cheer requirement, and then we were like... e_e o_o And then we cheered and got our chickens. :D My god. So much wasted time dancing to a chicken XD
I remember years ago when i noticed the ambience from warcraft , and im not donw with video yet, so idk if it is in video, but look into marcus the paladin.
The lost vikings characters are also part of a quest chain in the badlands (it's alliance only) where you can use their different abbilities to help you fight black drakes at new kargath. They seemingly dissapears after the "cutscene" where Deathwing kills off Rheastraza, but the question is : how did they ended up in Uldaman ?
If you go to stormwind, behind the mage quarter at coordinates 38.21.77.26 you will find a sword and shield, bags with horde symbols on them, and a crumpled note that reads,”I have been patient. Snuck in under their very noses. Soon I will avenge you, father. Blood for blood.” Have no idea what this means.
Hey, the first one is two easter eggs, it also refers to lost, since when desmond didnt push the button in the bunker, the screen said repeatedly "system failure" and some numbers
Did the Plague somehow stop those rose-petals from decaying entirely? I think my favorite WoW easter egg has to be the Zelda reference in Ungoro Crater. There's a little gnome dude named Linken dressed in a green tunic and green, pointy hood that starts an awesome quest-chain to restore his memory and there's a picture of a gnome princess who looks like Zelda and you have to defeat a fire-elemental that's basically Ganon.
Good video, however there are way more Lost references than just that hatch in the basin. I don't remember most of them but there is a gnome wandering around named Locke which is a direct reference to a character from that show. If I remember correctly most of that area is covered in references to Lost.
Garrisons weren’t player housing! I would be happy if they ignored another raid tier to implement actual player housing, since I don’t care about raids at all. They should do it like FFXIV, and make instanced housing neighborhoods that take on the aesthetic of the places they are located.
Wait we all liked and acclaimed garrisons? It was the most bare bones "player housing" and caused the inflation we still have today in game, it majorly cut the community because it was only ever you in your Garrison instead of being around your fellow players in a city, and its functionality consisted of playing a smartphone game you'd check every few hours. Yea they fucked that shit up big time and I remember it being it ripped on throughout the expansion. Not "Acclaimed" Hopefully that was just dry sarcasm
Its really sad what it could have been. Maybe if they went for something like a instanced district of a city where you could buy a spot for you to build.
Before I quit wow a few months back, I found a troll and a tauren atop a mountain near the nessingwary quest hub in Higmountain, I forgot wjat the conversation they had was, but it was quite amusing, felt as though the troll, whom I remember was named "haymon", was almost replicating a few things the public have been saying / doing towards blizzard. If someone could check this out and verify, that'd be great :) the location is probably wrong, but it's around the nessingwary area. You'll see a hut atop the mountain, though you will need flying
You could literally make 100 of these videos haha, there's tons of them. Also do you ever think you'd do a top glitches video? Nothing ToS breaking but there's been some strange bugs that have been discovered over the years (I guess some of it was covered in the top 5 hidden areas video)
I spent so much time in Pandaria, I never once saw the flying Turtle. I just got my last Dire mount, so I guess I won't have a chance to see it again until the next time trails come up in Pandaria.
An important thing for Horde players to remember is that there is absolutely no need to actually go to westfall to get the westfall chicken. The ones in Brill work exactly the same way.
The need is because it's the Westfall Chicken!!
I actually did this years ago in Goldshire on an Alliance, too, so seriously, any chickens will look at you crazy. I have so many damn Westfall Chickens, since they were at one time only accessible on the character you originally acquired it with. Anyone know if the will help me out? ;b
They only worked on the westfall ones in classic wow which is why people always talked about doing it there.
Honestly after playing wow since 05 I still get chills when I’m in the throne room
Been meaning to make something like this for a while. Let me know if you'd like to see more and thanks for watching.
MadSeasonShow these are very interesting, id be glad to see more
Awesome! I got quite the big list to work through so plenty left to talk about =)
Nice video! Kalimdor-Stonetalon Mountains in the Krom'gar fortress is a Shreddercraft and his name is Large daddy. Bioshock reference (just a tip)
MadSeasonShow have you found the little girl that talks about being from England yet?
You couldn't have chose a better time to do videos like this. I no longer play, but you're videos bring me back! The nostalgia runs high
Is being next to the pointless statue in Booty Bay an easter egg itself? If so, it's kind of a treasure.
Dammit Crendor
Well if there is one thing I have leaarned from watching all of Crendor's "Pointless Top Tens" it's that inside pointless things, are treasures. Let's begin....
Alex Bernardi just FYI it's called Cristo Redentor :)
Actually the statue in booty bay had a questline that ended at the statue, I got a Diamond ring; which I sold in AH for like 2k I believe.
@@Torontogal1973 Quest line, yes. Ring for 2k, no.
First I was like "wow this guy is so boring". Yeaaaah I ended up watching almost all videos of you. Love your voice keep up the good work :)
same
Thanks for giving me the chance! I appreciate it
i didint think hes boring at all i kinda enjoy hes voice and how clearly he tells things so they easy to understand
Buki he relaxing a f . Asmr stats
@@madseasonshow Same here. I now find your voice very relaxing, you could narrate anything and it would be entertaining.
Jason Mathers = Jason Voorhees + Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, who spent nearly the first half of his career wearing a hockey mask during skits, etc at his live shows and making numerous Jason Voorhees references in his lyrics.
Tyler Francis thank you! Was going to post this.
Man the lordaeron one blew my mind first time i played a undead and was afk:ing in the throne room, WC3 was one of my favorit game and the scourge campain was the best.
Yep that's probably my favorite easter egg in the entire game. Had to include it!
Going to miss that come Battle for Azeroth....
Are they removing it?
That was brutal indeed. Great inclusion, it sent shivers down my spine ;-) Back in the days...
6:15 this reminds me of Wojo and the Turtle God :)
Fulgore WOJO KNOWS ALL. Also wojo is way underlevelled for panda land, but wojo nojo care
Don't forget that you fight the ghost of Ray D. Tear in the Brawler's Guild, and he has attacks that come from raid bosses in WoD!
Its amazing how much time and effort the devs put into making Azeroth so very interactive and interesting.
Corrupted Ashbringer and the stuff happening if you enter Scarlet Monestary with the weapon equipped! :D Great video btw

6:44 I just read they found a survivor of the species! I'm so happy! 💚
Good job Mad, quality content as usual. I really enjoy that kind of stuff.
By all means keep making more of these. There were a few easter eggs I knew but then there were some I had no idea of or had seen and just didn't know the meaning. I'm about to watch your second easter egg video. Just letting you know I appreciate it lol.
The hatch and the SYSTEM Failure String -is- maybe actually a reference to LOST
That was my thought. Never seen the show but someone told me they had to go down a hatch and enter a string of numbers every so often or the world would end or something
Accualy you got the Newton Easter egg a bit wrong if i may correct you. You see since he is dead on a floating island with a bunch of floating island around. Since he is dead he never "disovered gravity. Hence the floating islands
He axed himself too many questions and died
I thought he tested gravity with his ax and it just so happened to land on his head when his theory was correct
In the Newton reference I believe the axe in the skull thing is a joke about him having a headache because if I’m remembering the story correctly he was sitting under tree trying to relax because he had a headache
For the longest while I did not know that you can wave at the turtle and it can follow you around pandaria... *Quickly logs onto the game to do that*
Great video. Interesting to see how they removed some things and doubled-back on their own decisions.
Ray D Tear is also the last boss in Brawler's guild.
Forgot about that...this is true! Nice catch.
HUGE JACKEDMAN I realized this while watching the video, that also explain why his spell are all from hellfire citadel bosse
Who's Ray D Tear? Curious to know
i am curious too
board 4life it's a play on words, Ray D. Tear = Raid Tier
Your videos bring a wave of nostalgia everytime especially time warp! Keep it up dude!
I think the skeleton with the axe in the skull is actually a reference to William Tell, just instead of a bow and arrow, it was an axe.
That undercity eastern egg always gives me chills
Also in Val'sharah, near the aforementioned easter egg, by the cliff, there's a black goat named Black Philip. It's a reference to the 2016 horror movie called The Witch.
The Undercity one always gives me chills.
I remember back in vanilla rolling a few alliance characters and discovering the Westfall Chicken quest completely on accident...

😁
#6 was definitely my favorite, I actually had no idea about it. #15 I can remember from a long long time ago. Ahh the good old days of west fall.
The cinematic of arthas killing his father, is my favorit of all the games i've played!
I had no idea about the lorderan ambient sounds. Thats extremely cool
In cataclysm, they made a entire questchain with the lost vikings, i think in the Badlands. It is a pretty cool questline :)
Great video as usual my dude. Maybe you’ve made one in the past but some sort of top 10 with NPCs. Non major NPCs with interesting stories, fates, contributions, etc no matter how small. We all have NPCs I feel like we remember for some reason or another
this is some really quality content man please keep it up

I believe the closed hatch (first secret) is actually also a reference to the TV show Lost
Man I really love your vids; so must nostalgia that can bring back almost anyone to WOW!
The island one is also a reference to the show LOST. There was a character in a bunker on the island, who was entering the same numbers over and over because he thought if he didn't, the island would explode.
Awesome video! I didn't know about many of these easter eggs.
P.S. Love the Tetris music!
holy shit the westfall chicken xD its been so long since i last did that, that i already forgot it existed. Good times
These videos are too well done. They’re hurting my virgin eyesssssss!!!
I knew about several of them. Thanks for making the video!
I like that you wear/xmog Vanilla gear. Can clearly see where your heart is.
I wonder if the Axe/Apple tree setting is actually in reference to the German Apfelschuss, you know the whole shooting an apple off a childs head using a bow and arrow...instead an axe was used here.
Yeah I came here to say the same except with reference to William Tell.
Loved the zelda music, keep up the good work mad you're doing an amazing job,ty!
Hello, your videos are really good and I must say I always appreciate them, keep doing what you're doing. Your faithful viewer.
I did not know of the flying tortoise, very cool.
:)
That outro was brilliant
I really enjoy watching your videos, keep the good work up. Greetings from Sweden
Loved it, hope to see a 2nd part.
That same house has another Easter Egg. There's a black Demon Goat called Philip. it's a reference to the movie called The VVitch. Love your videos so great!
Hi Mad..another great video..keep them coming plz.
I remember the plants vs zombies minigame that I believe came in wrath iirc. It was pretty neat, not sure how many people bothered with it or knew it's reference.
I just found that last week! Hillsbrad I believe...
Good video , would love to see more easter eggs.
Then we read the quest, saw the /cheer requirement, and then we were like...
e_e o_o
And then we cheered and got our chickens. :D
My god. So much wasted time dancing to a chicken XD
thanks for this!
I'd love to see more! This was fun to watch. How do you find out about these things?
Murlocks, Kobolds, and Quillboar oh my
Thanks for the upload! Love your vids, man!
Once again an amazing video.
Thanks, Chemical!
I remember years ago when i noticed the ambience from warcraft , and im not donw with video yet, so idk if it is in video, but look into marcus the paladin.
Legends tell that Christal Lake got some cremy, white water on the Moon Guard Server.
I’m pretty sure this is a cursed comment true though.
Great video, maybe your best video so far
The lost vikings characters are also part of a quest chain in the badlands (it's alliance only) where you can use their different abbilities to help you fight black drakes at new kargath. Thanks for the vid MadSeason :)
i remember we asked more parts in the famous/infamous players and you actually did it, so part two of easter eggs pretty please?
good videos man. very entertaining and informational :)
lol thos easter eggs are great videos of urs. i had so much fun. keep it up
Hey cool video once again. Is that music at 5:50 from the original FMA?Because I swear it sounds familiar to it.Loved that show.
Didnt know about the chicken. Thank you.
Garrisons weren’t player housing! I would be happy if they ignored another raid tier to implement actual player housing, since I don’t care about raids at all.
They should do it like FFXIV, and make instanced housing neighborhoods that take on the aesthetic of the places they are located.
Fido Montoya I would love that so much more
That would be really difficult to implement
did you also forget to add that Ray D. Tear was the final boss in the Brawler's Guild with WOD boss moves? Its a pretty cool easter egg.

awesome episode! You're the best!

Nice video MadSeasonShow, keep em up, love to watch them while i grind lvl on my alts!
Glad you enjoyed! What are you leveling up?
Right now im leveling an orc shaman, but when im playing with my main, im doing your routes for farming veiled argunite for my other 7 alts lol!
Sir Iassac Newton's 'Eureka' is also because he watched as the wind also influeced the apple during freefall
You could literally make 100 of these videos haha, there's tons of them. Also do you ever think you'd do a top glitches video? Nothing ToS breaking but there's been some strange bugs that have been discovered over the years (I guess some of it was covered in the top 5 hidden areas video)
you also missed that the 1st one is also a reference to lost
first time i've seen a video like this and didn't know all of them
I spent so much time in Pandaria, I never once saw the flying Turtle. I just got my last Dire mount, so I guess I won't have a chance to see it again until the next time trails come up in Pandaria.

sheesh, this just showed up on my recommended. i really miss madseason and classic wow now
