Yes, Turkey is the winner but Turkey paid the price for it. It didn't happen overnight country has done more to the Syrian people than Turkey. Saving the lives of 4 ml Syrians from certain death by the regime and has been taken care of them for the last 14 years costing the Turkish taxpayers over 40 bn $ yet you don't hear that in the Western media.
Turkiye did not win. It did not loose yet, but there is more than enough reason to fear that international bringers of democracy and human rights (USA, EU, Israel) will come after Turkiye after Iran now so they may reshape Anatolia in theşr image. (For the good of Kurdish poeple and democracy and rainbows, of course. 🎉 (Did anyone thing this is about geopolitical and military interests rather than ethnicity and culture clash??. 😮))
The biggest winners here are likely the Syrian people, as they have regained control of parts of their country. Choosing Turkey as an ally makes sense because Turkey has been very clear about its goals in the region. Turkey wants to stop Kurdish groups from creating a stronghold near its border, seeing it as a threat to its security. This partnership could bring some stability, but it also raises questions about what it means for Kurdish people and the region as a whole.
Yes Turkey is the winner. Turkey wins a neighbour full chaos with a 1000 km of border and with hundreds of diversities and conflicts. Turkey wins millions of immigrants. Would anyone come and take this win? I hope all Syrians will be the winner. I hope one day Syrians will be talking of electrical cars, environmental issues, holiday plans, healthy diets, art, music and fun.

Israel got Mt. Hermon summit and the Al-Wehda Dam. Two of the most strategic areas in southern syria. Surely make it a fortress. I think Israel is the biggest winner especially the brilliance takeover of Mount hermon. Israel can now monitor Syria, lebanon and the Israeli occupied Golan heights.

I want to know what the effects of this massive withdrawal of drug supply is going to be on the whole region. We've only seen the bags that have been found. There are 10's of millions of people who depend on the drug to be i.e. taxi drivers, security guards, night workers, nurses & doctors.. They work in the region under harsh conditions and (yes I was there) this drug enables them to do their jobs.. and its not the rich, it's a lot of the people who provide the basic services .. will be hit .. unless there is any kind of support (which I can't imagine happening) .. repercussions of that mass withdrawal will be significant.
Which makes it obvious, really, Putin is not going to let that billion dollar export industry that was in Syria go to waste. Russia has the manufacturing and export capacity. It would be better if that wasn't the case, but I feel for the millions working in the middle east who are (pretty much) reliant on this drug to be able to work the hours and labour expected of them there.
