Kurds are the brightest in Syria.
Only they have presented a working system for a future Syria which Assad said no to.
    Democratic votings,
    citizenship for all Kurds,
    Federalism within Syria.

Well, the Kurds created SDF and are the main proponents of the system. No Kurds, no SDF. Actually there's a majority of Arabs within SDF but problem is they're not loyal, as seen in Deirezor etc

I find it amazing that those who are calling for the International Criminal Court to try B. Netanyahu for war crimes remain silent on the matter of holding Assad accountable for all the crimes he committed against his people. Me thinks there is more than just a bit of hypocrisy involved here.

When the Shah of Iran, the U.S. dictator was deposed, the revolution was not this celebrated by Western media.
On the contrary, the toppling of Ghaddafi by the West was celebrated, but Libya is far worse today.

no. what are you talking about, libya was never and is far worse than syria. you didnt see 13 million libyans displaced, you didnt see libyan concentration camps, you didnt see human butchery prisons in libya ? right ? that was civil war. Syria was something else.

I really don't understand the level of stupidity required for a person who when confronted by a nation in transition asks whether that country "has a chance for democracy." We have democracy in my country and we elected a person who wants to cut his own government in half and abandon all the policies it has defended with blood, toil, and treasure for 80 years. Our government is dysfunctional. For four years we head south, then for four years we head north, shunning the south. Is it any wonder the country is falling apart at the seams. Around the world dictators are getting voted into office... through valid democratic elections. Bad leaders are elected everywhere, bad governments are elected, ineffective governments, corrupt governments are able to win elections. Evil nations that practice apartheid and genocide, literally, brand themselves as democracies. And in a way they are, provided you ignore the fact that they do not allow 45% of the people within the borders they defend to vote.
Absolutely the wrong question is whether Syria will be able to "become a democracy."
A better question is, who will lead, will they have enlightened, wise policies or not. What form of government will they have? What natural affiliations will they have.
Let's ask if the country will attain stability, peace with its neighbors, whether outside countries will intervene, whether the country will have wise leadership and policies or destructive aimless leadership and policies.
Possibly people ask whether the country will have democracy but what they actually cynically mean, is to what extent will the United States be able to control the country.

  • @isakrynell8771

There is much that can go wrong. But Jolani is clearly trying to appeal to the west and that opens up the opertunety for a democratic development. If there is enough stability for the Syran diaspora in Europe to return then the ties with Europe and the sociopolitcal system of Europe will be stronger. It would also be in the intrest of any rational s
Syrian goverment to get the European Syrains back because they have important educations, skills, contacts and in many cases mony. But people who have been living in Utrecht or Gothemburg or Hamburg will have surtain expections about how a government and a society should function specialy those who have grown up and lived most of lifes there. A democratic Syria is on the table but it requires that a lot of things go right.
