That's how it's supposed to f'n work, and any previous wheelchairs have, but this one is locked into seat flat 'down' -- Fabric seat will not pull up to fold!! Pressing on sides with wheelchair on its side does not fold it either!! Seat is somehow 'locked' down. No visible button release. Anyone know how to release and fold this exasperating wheelchair?
Thanks for your comment, Blade. You're right - depending on your level of mobility, you may not be able to fold a manual wheelchair yourself; if that's the case it would need to be something that a caregiver, family member or friend would help out with.

We don't carry that model of wheelchair, but we had a quick look online for the owner's manual and here's what it said for folding: "First fold foot plates to vertical position. Grab seat with both hands at front and back edge and lift. Or, tilt chair to one side and lift up on seat rail.". Don't forget to remove the cushion first. Good luck! If you can't figure it out, you may need to contact the dealer that you purchased it from, or contact Drive Medical at consumersupport@drivemedical.com.

My sister just got one and it will not fold up. Is something too tight? This isn't her first wheelchair
