First and foremost, I enjoyed your shifting. I've been driving Peterbilts for over 26 yrs. And seen and still see people that CAN'T shift. Nice driving.
Beautiful, sounds healthy, and awesome driving. I have a 12 valve myself, and I need to get around to fixing some stuff on the poor guy. Gotta get the pac-brake to stop sticking, service the rear sway bars, fix the hole in the transfer case and get the 5th gear welded back on... 👀 Other than that she still runs pretty darn smooth all these years later. Could definitely benefit from new engine mounts though, and for that matter it might not hurt to replace the lift pump. And a wishlist item is to upgrade the steering to 4th Gen as well... Dang, more to fix up than I realized I guess. Sheesh.

That’s how my older Cummins 12 valve sounded. It could hook up to my 42’ toy hauler that was “loaded for war” & just put it in 2nd gear never riding the clutch & just “walk off” like there was nothing behind her! She sounded like a Peter built ready to breed a ford or Chevy! 😂😂😂
@@javierhernandez215 absolutely not, it's an exhaust brake. You ease off throttle, pull knob or flip your switch, then let er sing. Flip off, gear down repeat if need be. It's to assist stopping or slowing down, prevents brakes overheating/warpin rotors if you weighted. Handy shit when you got a butt puckerin load.
@@javierhernandez215 its an exhaust brake though, not a jake brake, if youre used to jake brakes the braking factor isnt going to be near as much but im sure it helps if you have alot of weight every bit of heat kept out of the brakes in the moutains is nice.. but unless youre towing 25000lbs over the rockys its probably not necessary disk brakes and even drums have come along way since the days of them fading out to nothing even when the truck is under its rated capacity.. im sure part of a truck getting a capacity of say 31,000lbs towing is that it has to be able to brake all that weight without fading on even the worst roads in the country, the roads are built to a standard too that takes this into account
Non synchro manual transmissions are meant to be floated. If you have synchros in the trans like all smaller manual transmissions you are supposed to use the clutch or you will destroy your synchros.
@@sticky40sx71 you need a controller to communicate with the auto trans to keep the torque convertor in lockup when using the exhaust brake, otherwise you will over heat your tranny from high pressure oil shear,,and yes it will damage it,and will get very expensive
If thats not a drive by wire put a micro switch on the throttle lever at the pump and put a on / off switch on the dash. Release the throttle and you ain’t got to do it manually. Older R model trucks were like that
it has it but with a manual trans when you shift it drags the rpms down faster if left on you simple can't change gears fast enough down shifting i mean i can leave it on in whatever gear and just drive let off gas and it will come on i guess i could rig up the same switch as the throttle pedal for the clutch too i just think that it would be too much of a racket so i just flick it off thats why i got the cook lever lol all the best

I will add to my sleeping Playlist, very soothing
Instantly one of my favorite videos on UA-cam.
Taching out that high makes it go from sounding like a Cummins to an old 2 stroke Detroit.
Not even close
Damn that’s a BAD truck 👍 coolest truck and badass driving of it
Best sound ever 👌🏼
I drive the same way. Great full video. Amazing sound
Very well done video straightforward excellent keep up the great work
Love the sound of your truck man
Do I see factory buttons on the back of a 2nd gen steering wheel??

very nice sound of that truck also good driving

I’m just curious on how the exhaust break works. Look fucking incredible and sounds like a tanker🔥
Basically it shuts a flap sealing in the exhaust which increases compression in the cylinders. increased compression means better engine braking
Very nice downshifting
Sick setup. How well does the exhaust brake work? Will it significantly slow down the truck when pulling a trailer?
Yes it does work perfect like it should
@Nick Diesel but how does it work? With the Red button? Do you have any issues while on cruise control?

Does installing a Jake brake on a 24v modify any wiring causing the computer not to establish a connection through the OBD port?
2:10 for me sounds so good
Wouldn’t this put stress on the bottom end as your essentially cause extra back pressure on the pistons thus putting more pressure on the crank?
Do you know how a jake brake works? this is alot easier than that lol
Hell yeah you know what’s up. Robins coffee is the best 😎😎😎
