  • Yamaha MT-09 (FZ-09 in the USA) gets some important updates for 2017: new look, improved suspension, slippery clutch, standard quick shifter.
In our MT-09 review we tried to find out if Yamaha fixed the issues reported on the first generation. And after a full-day 500 km test ride, it seems they did it. The new Yamaha MT-09 [FZ-09] is a winner.

Let me just say, at 1:00 is both amusing and disturbing at the same time haha. Great video, with the upgraded suspension it certainly makes it a much better deal!

Best review I have seen in a long time!
Very very nice! Beautiful shots with blurred background, stats at the end... seems perfect review :) keep up the good work.

I just bought this bike in this colour last week. everything he said was true. although coming from a smooth 600cc sport bike the suspension is still quite soft as is the throttle response still snatchy though not as bad as the old one. most fun bike I've ridden!

I'm jealous of those stock signals. Mine are the big floppy orange ones.

Thanks for reviewing the second generation of my bike! Based on the videos I would say that the front is still not enough dampened as it looks bouncy. The onboard video does not match the quality of the rest of the video yet - seems like you need to work on that a bit. Beside that - another great video from you - thanks!

Can you hold a part throttle through town at 50kph without surging and hunting? Didn't notice the jeans ;)

Great vid! I love this bike, had a First Ride last week, performance per dollar is hard to beat. But the colours! Ugh!

    This or Z900?

I'd go for this one. Seems more comfortable, it's ligher, the engine is more engaging and offers a traction control. The Z900 seems more stable in the corners, but I think it's not so fun to ride as the MT-09. Try them both

How tall are you (barefoot)? You seem to be on the short side, but you also flat foot this thing...

I sat on the old MT09 and the seat felt a bit lower than my old street triple. I'm not tall and I could pretty much flat foot both sides at the same time.

fender eiminator is most popular aftermarket gadget for mt's ... no surprise there.. that numnberplate on rear axl is ugly, why they do that shit.. it's like planned design to suck the maximum amount of money out of you :D
