How are your RMPP pen tips holding up so far? remarkable said their new tips last longer than the ones from the RM2. I'd love to hear your experience with them so far. Also, it would be super useful to know how much you actually write per day. I am currently in uni using a boox device but was thinking about switching to the RMPP for the colors.
Hi .. I want to share a more detailed review of my experience after one month of using the RMPP and I’ll include some thoughts on the durability of the tips as well… Overall I’m quite happy with the tip durability. It’s definitely an improvement over the Remarkable 2. The tips last longer which I think is partly due to the screen surface. The RMPP has a slightly more “plasticky” feel unlike the Remarkable 2 which feels closer to real paper… I’ve been using the device for a month now. For the past two weeks I’ve been studying about 6-7 hours daily and I still haven’t needed to replace the tip. This added durability is a real advantage.
@@hadi_177re oh nice, that sounds pretty good then. I am still on the fence wether I should go for it or not especially because I just got the boox device a week before the rmpp launched. The better tip durability sounds promising and I'm looking forward to your overall review of the device, especially because you seen to have a similar use case to me.
You're right it’s definitely a hard choice to make as E-Ink tablets cost a lot of money. I still believe it’s 100% a personal choice. I would buy the Remarkable a thousand times if I had to despite its flaws and high price. Some people say it’s crazy for them to pay $700 for a slow grayscale screen that only offers writing functionality. The new Boox is absolutely a monster and I’d love to give it a try but I know the Remarkable is the one for me mainly because of its lack of distractions. The Boox runs on Android which I see as a downside for an E-Ink paper-like tablet. I love the simplicity the Remarkable offers and its distraction-free environment. Trying out the new Boox is on my to-do list because it’s all about personal preference and experience. You can’t truly know what works best for you until you try it. That’s why I think it’s great that Remarkable offers a refund guarantee so you can test the device and return it if it doesn’t suit you. If you’re struggling to decide get the Remarkable paper pro try it out and return it if it doesn’t meet your needs. Then you can explore other E-Ink options.
@@hadi_177re I definitely like my boox device so far but found that lacking the colors is actually really bad when it comes to highlighting papers. It was ok to highlight at home but then when it came to quickly get information out of the paper while sitting in my seminar in uni I was struggling a bit. That and some other points lead me to maybe giving the paper pro a shot as well. I'll probably keep using the boox for a few more weeks because I think one really knows what they need once they actually start using a device. I am still a bit torn because of the high price tag but as it would still be my main note taking device and using it daily is a good enough reason to give it a shot. And one thing about the distraction with android: people make it sound way worse than it is. I haven't installed a single app and just use the integrated pdf and note taking app. If you want you can keep the boox devices almost as distraction free as the remarkable while gaining a bit more flexibility when it comes to things like inserting pictures into notebooks, integrated shapes etc. In the end I think none of those devices are trash. They are just different flavors. E-Ink is such a great technology and I'm happy there is so much choice. The only down side is that there is no clear winner right now. It feels like no matter which device you choose, you always have to make a compromise. Can't wait for your review on the paper pro :)
