I like the heavy duty emergency tarp I bought from your site a couple years ago.. I do wish that they came in bigger sizes like 8×8 or 9×9 for more coverage and would love to be able to set up a tent configuration with the emergency tarp and see what the heat retention would be.
Much respect to you.
I got two. Taped the 7' sides together to make a survival blanket 7'x10'. Great for tarp shelters now!
Gee thanks Dave. I just finished adding the four center grommets to the last three "old style" Survival Blankets I bought from you. I'm going to wait for the next Blanket iteration before I buy any more, hopefully the next improvement will be to add center grommets to the remaining two sides to make these excellent things as versatile as they need to be.
I really like the new emergency blanket with the extra grommets and that they're now reinforced , looks like a real good product .
Using that longtail bowline to accommodate a toggle is brilliant.
That ready to roll ridgeline and carrying real tent pegs is extremely smart. Carving tent pegs can just wears your knife edge and exposes one to potential accidents. Carrying pegs is a risk remover and saves time. Smart.
I agree with several of the comments below. I would also like to see the two additional side grommets as well as it being available in a square shape 8x8 and/or 10x10.
Every thing you do and design is sooo practical. I am impressed that you improved the space blanket far beyond any space blanket available anywhere else. Great video.
Thanks for another great video Mr. Cantaberry. Been watching you for over 10 years across all kinds of platforms. Best to you and yours keep them coming brother and until the next one.🤘
Thank you for your support please like and suscribe
Great vid Dave. I owe you so much. You got me into the outdoors. Changed my life. Thank you
Last year for Christmas I got the 8" skillet and Swedish style mess kit and stove, awesome pieces of gear. This year I got the Scout Canteen (it's gonna make the BEST flask!) and two of these new tarps, one in each color. The green one had two grommets that were mis-struck, the metal was actually torn. I got on their website, filled out the form with a pic attached thinking I'd get a return label, mail it back, get a new one eventually...LET ME TELL YOU, bearing in mind this is Christmas, they responded right away, sent me a new one and said keep or toss the old one, the new one arrived today, just 4 days after Christmas. AMAZING customer service and these things are DIRT CHEAP, like $13 or something. Now to find the time to use them! Dave, great work, Happy New Year and I hope 2024 is incredible for you.
A needed revision for this product. Thanks for getting it done.
Thank you for the lesson in simple and effective knots. I've been transfixed with it . Cheers from the UK 🇬🇧 😊. I must of slept through life when I realise that I didn't know how to use simple knots .
Thanks for your time and effort. At 68 I learn something from you often.
Dave, you are a wealth of wisdom.i do have one question/suggestion. Have you ever thought of putting small toggles on the grommets themselves? I have toggles on several of the tie out points made of cut up tent poles. It makes setup quicker than anything I've ever seen. Just slip the toggles thru the prusik knots and slide. I also have toggles on all 4 corners for the same reason. Attach you pre-made guys with bowlines on one end and other end is the same marlin spike hitch. Good video as always. Thanks
Dave, I don’t know if you would run into a patent issue, but a nylon tarp with an aluminized layer would be good. It’d be like the Jerven Bags, but maybe a bit cheaper & a bit bigger.
Wow, I was just skimming through this and I came upon you Dave you’re the man I haven’t seen anything about you for a couple of years so happy to have you in my loop man I will be paying attention to you and what you’re teaching knows you’re the best🔥🙏
Great video. I really like and respect the way you keep thinking of new ways to improve and do certain tasks instead of just doing it one way. Thank you for everything.
Excellent video. If I didn't know better I'd think you had done this before, lol. Happy Holidays to you, your instructors and all your families.
That middle grommet will make things much easier.
Thank you Dave.
So many tips in one place, beautiful knot explanations
GREAT VIDEO! Sooo timely: I just got my family’s Bug Out Bags done and wanted to put the ropes on each one for easy put up when needed…..THANKS SOOO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO FOR THIS COMMUNITY! HAPPY THANKSGIVINGEVERYONE!
Hello from Ukraine! It's always interesting to watch your videos👍
I look forward to buying the new trap/blanket
Hey Dave, thanks for continuing to experiment & innovate.
I’m taking your basic survival class in April and just bought two of the emergency shelter kits so I can practice with one and have one in good shape for the class. I will keep those in my vehicles and order the new blankets when they are released this afternoon. I really do appreciate the fact that you continue testing the gear you sell and making improvements when warranted on gear that is already really good.
Nice. Good update on the survival blanket.
Dave, this is amazing. Thank you!
Thank you. The practical usefullness of that setup can not be overstated.
David, I really enjoy your videos and the VAST knowledge that you and the people that you have at your place (business) share with us out here "in the field" per se! So with that being said, I want to say thank you, Sir for sharing your knowledge with us!!! I also would like to ask you just where or how did you come by all this knowledge, if you don't mind me asking you?
Looks like a good upgrade, but I'm just waiting for someone to make a bigger one. Why a 5x7? Something like a 6x8 or a 7x7 would be fantastic!
8x8 and you can make a teepee with open door . That would be my tent with a bivy and a ground sheet . Want to try to sell my tent and buy a 8x8 super solid tarp.
Hi Dave, thanks for the video I was looking for a good blanket for the winter and this video might have just sold me on it. I know I can trust your product and word when it comes to this stuff it’s awesome!
Great video and i really appreciate how you keep evolving
Thanks Dave
Love the knots!
Great tips for rapid deployment!
My only suggestion: allow for optional adjustable tension also on the corner guys, via some sort of taught line hitch.
My number one issue with it! I use it above my hammock tent in cold conditions tucked under the rain fly. I'd love to have the middle grommets strung to my ridgeline so I can leave the front one or two grommets free to flap so I can get out easily.
Seems like a true improvement
Man this always happens to me. I waited forever to buy one of their emergency blankets, and as soon as I pull the trigger a new and improved updated / better model is released.
Like that tarp great add on to the blanket. Also happy thanksgiving to all
Hello 👋 Dave, thank you for sharing this informative video. All the best to you. Stay safe out there. 😊
Another great skills video
Great video, Sir !!!
Do you have a video explaining how to make that ridgeline and the extension lines ?
Keep up the great work !!!
As usual Dave, outstanding.
This is now a great piece of kit. I just have to figure out how to put some sort of raised bed under the deployed shelter.
Damn y’all think of every thing that’s awesome
Great video! Thank you! Learned a lot.
Wow! That is amazing! Come on man.
As a suggestion would it be better to have a loop stitched in with the fabric instead of eyelets that are pressed in?
That looks like a winner.

Спасибо!
Just picked up 4 of these. Replacing all my older versions. BTW money being no object would you still opt for a space blanket like this or a different setup? Maybe the space blanket is supplemental and redundant and light enough to be included? Thanks again Dave!
Outstanding
Lol i never should of visited the online store , ended up spending some coin. Some very cool things for sale.
Since you're using the survival blanket as a reflective tent, would you carry a second one as a ground tarp or sleeping burrito? How would you close off the ends of the tarp to help hold/channel the heat in?
What's the difference between the survival blanket and the space blanket?
I have 3-4 bivy sacks, but wasn't there a heavier version of them? Recently I saw a pop up ad for some type of longer thicker version of the bivy sack. Can't remember if they called it a survival sack. I'm usually sceptical.
Time for an upgrade. ❤️
Dave, long time follower and gear buyer. I have 4 of the current blanks. Great addition of the new tie down. But, wanted to follow on your resent video for suggestions on new topics. Can you do a video on the uses of gorilla tape, 1 and three in. I know you have this as part of your classes. Thanks.
I thought we were using the prussic for the truckers hitch.
I like this product!
👍👍👍
Never disappoints 👍.
this is similar to what I use ( A-frame leen too mix ) except my overhang is only about 2 foot and it is basically a leen too design no need for center groumets as the tension on overhang is enough to keep tarp in place over ridgeline how it tests in field I don't know my experience in outdoors is limited
Dave any ideas of making a "Jumbo" sized space blanket? Say 10x12 or 12x14?
Is there value in tying those prusik hitch loops off with a big stop knot, maybe something that ends up hanging off the side of the loop, so you can use it as a button to secure the ridge line holes on the tarp? In other words you put the knot holding the prusik hitch loop where the stake would go, eliminating the need for those extra 2 stakes on the ridge. I've played a bit with button knots on tarp setups and they hold well if you run the loop being anchored around them them twice.
👍👍👍 Thanks 👌 ...Alan 🇨🇱
When will the shelter kit get the improved survival blanket?
Happy Thanksgiving
Are you not utilizing the delrin toggles for the corner extensions or rope to toggle connections anymore?
Cool blanket btw. I like the center grommet addition.
We use both but teach simplicity at the school
Cool. Why didn’t you use the new way you showed how to do the ridged line with no knotts
Much respect sir.. Semper-fi
nice improvement..
but I think ill just sew on a couple of reinforced loops of some kind, rather buy a whole new one..
This new version looks great. What's the weight? I checked your site but it's not listed there. Thanks.
Excellent content.
Scrolled through your video list, couldn't find one on your cord management system. Might it be under another title?
The way you guys held up the blankets made me click the video.
I wish you could’ve mentioned how much that tarp is

Is this going to be the blanket included now in the "Emergency Shelter Kit? Are you still teaching to use Gorilla/duct tape around the outside edge for strength and abrasion resistance? Didn't see it on this one.
😊Thanks for sharing 😊
Take money... Great improvement Dave!
Great video Dave! Whats the chance of making these in 12 x 12? *hammock cover purposes....
Hi, to both
Can you have the same company make a signal panel / sit pad out of the orange material?
Is this the same as the arctis brand survival blanket or is one better? Im onterested but im not sirenif its worth buying
Now make a Pathfinders pup tent or shelter halves
I started to not watch but you made it interesting and I learned a new not thanks
Any chance they can make a 6x8. Or 8x10?
i like it
👍👍👍 ! ! !
For the Basic class do you recommend pre making the 6 utility lines and attaching the 4 to the corners of the survival blanket we are bringing to the class? Or is it better to just go with the 100 feet of paracord and make it all at the class?
I do not as we make them from a scratch kit at the class
How soon until these are in stock (Orange) ?
1pm today
Cool...
Dave, I recently looked at buying one of the Pathfinder Survival Blankets, however I was still reading reports of the grommets ripping out when used with lines and not stakes. Can you address this? Is this still an issue? Does it depend on the type of line (thinner bankline vs thicker parachord)? I read somewhere that the pathfinder school was recommending using gorilla tape to strengthen the grommets. Is this still suggested? If so, can you make or direct us to a video about that?
Thanks!
Those are blankets from 2 years ago
Is this blanket necessary for next year's basic class? Or will one of the older style that you sell work
No whatever you have will work this just makes it faster
At least this is hefty space blanket, not like the mylqr ones that real thin
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I need mine in FDE or coyote brown
What happened to the friction toggles on the anchor ends of the ridgeline -- the extra prussic loop with the toggle in place of the truckers hitch?
Didn't some of the utility cords also have a toggle to make the loop-to-toggle connection for extending the length of a line?
I get that this is another option - but did the toggles not make it into the overall cordage management system?
This is the simple version we use at Basic Courses
YOU SHOULD PUT A LINK TO BUT THIS
🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓
Taken good and made it better. Whats wrong with ya'll ?!!!! Now everybody has to go buy a new one ! 👍 👍
I can hear the argument now, " but honey, i have to buy this new one, its better and I can make things better for you with it!"
This is a good mod, makes sense.
But no floor?
That what browse beds are for
