The way you've blended colors here is absolutely mesmerizing. It feels like each stroke has its own story. The composition is balanced perfectly, and I love how you've played with light and shadow. You’ve really mastered this medium! ❤❤❤
Ooo! Yes please! Snowdrops would be lovely! They are such charming little flowers. Can't wait to try these carnations. I love the pink/magenta combo. They look frilly and happy.... the hallmark characteristics of carnations. Thanks for sharing! I'm so looking forward to these monthly flowers. 😊
Your explanations for what you’re doing and why are outstanding. I’ve been experimenting with watercolor for a while and because of you, it’s really making sense now. THANK YOU! 😊
Thanks Kristin those colours are spot on. The last bit of squiggly light brush stroke on the edge of some petals really made it almost 3D so for me looked really good. I like the indigo to darken the green is so natural. Have a great happy day 🙌
Those random-y dark edges kind of fool the eye into seeing the ruffles - beautiful. I am not a huge fan of flower painting but I want to try this!! Your description of brush strokes and your thought process is very helpful.
OMGosh those carnations are beautiful. I was holding my breath when you did the edging ruffles, but what a difference they made! Thank you so much for this, you have inspired me to give a go. 😊
I love that you explain what you are doing, seeing, and thinking as you paint. That is so helpful! These turned out so beautiful. Those little touches at the end make such a big difference. Thank you!
Excellent! Great tips, especially on your thought process and the dreaded ugly stages. My issue is that I need to remember a watercolor piece always looks different when it’s dry. I’ve come to the end of a piece and almost thrown it away, but something said WAIT. When I follow that inner guidance I find I actually like the thing a day or two later. We’re never going to love everything we paint, but someone else will. Blessings to you ❤. Rita
Thank you for doing this flower. It turned out so successful. Truly happy with the end results. You’re a terrific teacher/instructor/UA-camr. You Rock! Paint 🎨 😊

yes please do the snowdrops! i enjoyed watching you create carnations. you capture a lot of their character. i could almost smell them! can you please post the reference photo? thank you Kristin.
It’s been a while since I took plant anatomy so I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the bulbous part is the calyx which is made of sepals and what you called sepals are actually bracts. 😅
Last year I made birthday cards for family and friends by watercoloring a flower for their birth month. But I had NO idea what I was doing. 😅 So this year I'm going to do it again but with following your guide and instruction so that I can give a MUCH better product. 🤍 Snowdrops would be a great addition!!

Perfection at its finest! The extra little squiggles really made the flower pop.
