Right! And twitter won’t allow the actual video, only clips to fit the narrative. Smh. My mom asked me what I’d think if I heard that a cop shot a black man because he was running away from them and I said “oh hell no, they could have let him run and find him later as long as he doesn’t have any weapons on him, that’s messed up” then she told me to watch this video, and my opinion completely changed based off this video because I could see how he was treated and how polite and thorough the cops were, and that shows exactly how media can portray something to be a certain way and people form their opinions based on that instead of taking 45 min out of their life to actually watch what happened. It’s crazy.
This was literally the most cooperative and polite exchange between officers and a citizen for like 41 minutes straight. Shit went south in a split second.

Butch: He didn't "shoot a drunk driver". He shot a violent person in the heat of the moment. Clear different thing. It didn't need to happen. But the cop did not provoke it. @anon 151515 "is it still OK to shoot him in the back as he flees?" Yes. The taser isn't simply a firing weapon, it's a contact weapon as well. That's like saying after a person shoots one bullet when they only have one bullet, they can't be killed cause the gun is no longer a threat. Tasers just as dangerous as a melee weapon, and since you have to catch him to cuff him, that cop was still in threat of bodily harm, by a man that has now proven he will do what he can to incapacitate a cop. @Gerlizh SticksCMO man you are trying to rationalize why these cops are racist with what if scenarios.... and bad ones at that. They would NOT just go away because he was white, they would see if he was drunk or high because that's more serious of a crime, letting a drunk person go to possibly crash into a van filled with kids or whatever... see that is a feasible scenario cause it has been proven to happen before.... no cop has ever just let someone go who was asleep behind the wheel without checking those 2 things first... stop being braindead, and use it before it completely withers over there on the left.
@Gerlizh SticksCMO No you are so very wrong, I am white and I've been carted off to jail in instances exactly like this one in the video, and I'm white again I'm white, an officer is not going to leave a white, black, Hispanic, polkadot, zebra striped what the fuck ever color you are, knowing you are inebriated and endangering the lives of others, it's a FEDERAL LAW, that any person who is drinking or had been drinking and operating a motor vehicle, is automatically hauled off to jail, what part of that do you not get, it has ZERO to do with race, it's the FUCKING LAW. Once you lose your main non lethal, and it’s something you can’t fight back against while it’s being used, you have no other options to protect yourself. Not to mention, he also assaulted 2 police officers, and tased one. He was just asking to get what happened to him. The officer did nothing wrong.
l EliteMirage these officers body cams prove beyond a shadow of doubt that they upheld the law and treated this drunken man with courtesy and respect until he over powered one and took his weapon lethal force by the policeman justified !
This police officer went above and beyond the call of duty. If you fire a weapon of any type at an officer of the law, deadly force is warranted. The officer will walk free. Thank God.
@nwahforevertasers aren't non-lethal, they're considered less lethal. hundreds of people a year actually die from tasers because they have a higher amount of voltage than you may think. For example, if you shocked yourself while fixing a domestic light switch, that would be about 110-120 volts, while a taser on the other hand is 50,000 volts. yes the cop had body armor on, but if he sustained a taser shot to the head, the officer could've died. It would be about just as dangerous as someone hitting him in the head with a baseball bat.
Watching the entire stop: The call was initiated by a concerned citizen dialing 911. The first officer responded and was more than EXTREMELY PATIENT with the suspect. The man had no business driving out of that parking lot, and was without question under the influence of alcohol and what else before (IMPAIRED) the encounter. Whether or not the suspect was mentally capable or not is not known for sure. When he began to fight the officers he then clearly intended to flee no matter what, or whoever was in his way. The Police officers today are under unbelievable scrutiny and critique. If any suspect will injure maim or kill a L.E. officer then they are a danger to EVERYONE in the community, not just the police. That means if they would kill an officer while in the performance of their duties, then they would run over and kill any citizen that got in their way. The police are not punching bags and targets for anyone to take out their vengeance on. If you fight and try to kill or maim a police officer then get ready fall to the ground.
What was wrong with him just getting out of the car and let me police go ahead and handcuff him and he go downtown to the station That's it that was it man All this extra stuff I'm not saying it was right for this man to die I'm just saying man it's too much extra stuff going on and we can't be acting like this stuff couldn't have been eliminated now come on bro let's not play around with this this is real talk

@@mikevinaja A taser can be considered a deadly weapon, especially if it's in the wrong hands. For instance, is a knife a deadly weapon, it's used every day in millions of homes to prepare foods but if the same knife is used with wrong intentions it can be classified as a deadly weapon. Countless videos show cops shooting aggressors armed with a knife, each case is different of course, in each an investigation is conducted to see if the shooting was justified. In my opinion, the cops abused their authority in this case. One thing I have never been able to understand is why self-defense is not allowed when there is a cop involved. Some would say there is no self-defense statute and I would agree, it's called justified use of force. But still, it cannot be used as a defense when there is a cop involved. The law mandates you obey a police officer's lawful order. If you fail to comply and in doing so exhibit violence you can be charged with resisting or obstructing justice with or without violence or, force. If so, you may be charged with committing a battery on a law enforcement officer and if found guilty thereof the sentencing statute mandates the judge to aggravated its' judgment of sentence from one year to five years, read the law on battery and battery of law enforcement officer. You will find that the sentence in the latter is aggravated from a misdemeanor to a felony. If you have prior felony convictions the term of sentence can be enhanced, doubled 5-10 years state prison. I think some states have the three strikes your out-law. I would suggest, to everyone, to go to a college near you to see the collection of books it offers on criminal justice or go online there you will find several books offered on the subject. Believe me, once you have read the book you will know what they know, what they can and cannot do, and beat them at their own game. Knowledge is power and it's your best defense.

This video should have been released immediately. It may not have stopped the violence but it might, and I say might, have stopped the Atlanta news media from fanning the flames.
Until minute 41 all three of them are so calm and friendly, I thought no way something happens in the next two minutes. I thought this was some clickbait video.
I tend to be wary of people who are too nice and this incident validates it. The range allowed them to aim at the legs instead and several retries upon failure but instead it turned into a trophy hunt.
@@ziad_jkhan you should just stop. The more you talk about shooting the more apparent it becomes you don't know what you are talking about. Shooting for the legs is something for the movies, anytime you shoot in the direction of a human being you must justify doing so with the same standard as shooting them in the head. Deadly force is deadly force and getting hit in the leg can easily kill someone.
@@SuicideVan There's no evidence that shooting in the legs can kill anyone unless the target was allowed to bleed for a long while after the act so you're making things up here I'm afraid and I'm not sure why. Your argument makes no sense because I didn't say the person must not shoot. I only said that the shooting could have been calculated. It should have been well aimed one followed by another well aimed one until the guy is on the ground not an outburst of shots in rapid succession.
@@SuicideVan Anyway a Taser isn't lethal. Brooks death is murder, plain and simple. Cops use deadly force when their life or someone else's is in imminent danger. Brooks running away with a Taser does NOT warrant the officer's life is in imminent danger... Hence no need to shoot Brooks. No need for anyone to stop exposing this ongoing abuse of power under the name of law and order. The latter is what actually needs to stop especially when the victims are statistically proven to be melanin related by a huge margin.
The first officer on the scene was very polite. The other officer off the back was an A hole. You have 2 fully trained officers with a baton, pepper spay, and a taser gun...against an unarmed man. Use them..the gun should be your last resort. Officers are trained in hand to hand combat at the academy. So there is no excuse to discharge firearm on an unarmed man.
@The Internet Is For Cats He was unarmed. They should of been able to take this man down, no problem. He shouldn't have been able to get to their weapons.
@The Internet Is For Cats this is how I know you are a racist. I said nothing about race. I have 4 brothers and all cops. Even if the guy grabs one of the officer's taser. They still have the advantage because its 2 fully trained officers. The other officer still has his taser, mase, and baton. If 2 officer can't take down one guy then they need to go back to the academy. Also this guy is drunk which makes it even easier to take him down. End of discussion.
Same but .... he did tell the truth WAYYY ... before even handed the i.d. when was just the one officer... (whom did not feel like dealing with this now) ...as in he said he was "Mr brooks" which we found out fairly fast when he produced his i.d. was the truth. I do NOT have the answer man but those long drawn out embarrassing and overly long "test" to just get to the point of a breathalyzer was nuts if they knew they were taking him in anyway as he admitted he was intoxicated as was evident either the first officer should of "detained" him right away or then drove him back over to the hotel to see what happened or was going on.... I just dunno what the answer was but to get somebody whose scared, for this long definitely was not the answer and what we should learn is somebody whom is not a threat can become a threat out of fear or whatever in seconds.... I am sure they let folks go for worse, JS... Did he shoot at the cop or get his weapon or just take the taser as it sounded and ran away with it or? This is unclear .... I do not believe this guy would have done something like this unless coaxed over a period of time to do it, either get right down to business and whatever you are gonna do or "let it slide" maybe with him agreeing to hand over his keys and come attempt to retrieve them from the district the following morning, maybe that is stupid as I said I do not have the answer and this sucks all around... BTW: TRUMP2024 (Seriously!) ... #PHiLLy ... how do you like them apples.... BTW: In this situation I do not think these officers were "racist" like some (which come in all colors) but def aggravating and being of "somewhat" opposite cultures you will feel this way as you can not get a read as well as someone in your "tribe" per se and the same goes for the man whom should of been fully detained or NOT.... All that was just for him to incriminate himself to be arrested in the end, like a circus animal. When he gave him his license surely it would of came back if Mr Brooks was a felon or not so AI am assuming he was not and born in 1993 or so ... JS .... Think about it from all ends and maybe revamp or reform the way police are trained to help save their lives and others.... this just SUCKS! .... In the end, is MR. Brooks dead? .... I hope not... as do I hope the officers are all OKAY... Again, this sucks...
Thats because as a white privileged person COPS would NEVER stop you, if you pointed a gun at any cops they would spend hours talking you down-WITHOUT firing a single shot, then when you got hungry while holding a pointed gun, they would feed you and give you a time out. Then when you fell asleep from eating they would disarm you and ask you if you need a ride home and forget the incident. A black man with no weapon would be murdered for complete COMPLIANCE as has been the case of over 100 incidents of people in their home and while in hand cuffs being shot to death while not breaking any laws. There is a DIFFERENCE in cop discretion, its VERY obvious in 2021.
Honestly, after watching this video I could see how that police officer was just doing his job and being super respectful. It is a shame that situation evolved into being so hostile.
Watch this copy ua-cam.com/video/D9U6ztcoomw/v-deo.html How is shooting an unarmed man in the back who is running away acceptable? They had all his info. He was not driving. He would have faced justice, but instead he had his back to a smirking judge and executioner. This was not some armed murderous villain escaping. I shared your opinion until I saw it all, including footage of that shooter cop kicking the injured man versus rendering aid. He killed him...acting hot headed... This was wrong. The victim gave no inkling he was a danger to anyone. He got scared. They shoulda let go...and I wonder why they never gave him the inkling that if he was impaired, it meant arrest. He obviously believed they would let him walk home. No wonder he got scared. This is incredibly sad. That little girl of her and his GF lost him on their birthdays. Devastating.
“ he was not driving” The man was drunk, he shot the taser, tried to flee... Being a police is a dangerous job, and they always try to do the safest approach possible. The George Floyd incident... that’s another story.
He was on probation for wife and child abuse anddd a dui he shouldn’t have been drinking in the first place, the police handled this the best they could
So what was the issue after that? He should have let him walk home like he said and keep it moving. Is not illegal to sleep in a park vehicle either so what was the problem? Seeing many episodes of cops and same scenarios where they allow a friend to come get them, where they allow them a phone call and someone gets the car. They tow the car only and they walk but nooo this was not that case right?. I wonder what was going to be the charge? Because he was not driving when they found him.
Yes he was so nice he shot him in the back then kicked him after he was shot then stood on his shoulder and in addition one of his bullets almost truck an innocent man sitting in one of the cars in the drive through...super nice guy
Billy Dow well if Mr. Brooks had not been drinking and driving he would be alive today. If he had not resisted arrest, assault two police officers, grabbed an officers taser, run, turn around and point the taser ( which by Georgia law is classified as a firearm) at an officer he would still be alive today. If Mr. Brooks had thought about his young children before drinking, and doing all the things he did, he would be alive today.
djbastetusa The cop dragged it out way too long! now three decent lives are destroyed! He needed to be removed from the car When he was asleep then evaluated instead of playing this chess game! ridiculous! Yeah the cop was polite but not very smart and as the End will tell you not very disciplined
darren desson you fall asleep in a parking space. You pass out in a drive through not knowing where you are. That’s the difference. You fall asleep from being overly tired you pass out from drinking too much
He was running away so why shoot him? Know he shot the taser but... 1. it missed 2. it was discharged 3. he wasn't even aiming plus after the shot him the kicked him around and disrespected his body instead of calling for help. So yeah, I can't defend what he did, but I can defend the fact that those cops handled the situation in the worst way possible
They, and leftist politics, play black America like it's their favorite fucking game. They know which buttons to hit, and when to hit them, to have them break out in violence and destroy there own communities. You want to talk about racism THERE YOU GO! Yet, somehow, the thoroughly played black community totally miss it and do as the media and leftist politics tells them to. SAD REALLY.
The far left Dems are trying to trick you. Everyone knows that resisting arrest is a death sentence. Just let them take you to jail so you can live there. Don’t run, don’t beg, because you will get killed every time. Not sure why people don’t understand the either you go to jail or you die. That simple
My husband was in the same situation at a gas station he was passed out the engine running. Person at gas station called the cops he said yes officer I'm drunk and they took him to the station end of story
El Toro No, it’s sad when anyone does, but had he cooperated, he would have been fine. He made a bad choice and unfortunately had to pay for it. If he were out driving drunk on the road, he could have caused an accident and caused someone else to die. There is no “win-win” situation.
He cooperated for 40 minutes. Clearly inebriated and even admitted he was. But in 2 seconds he made a choice. Really sad to watch this go from 0-60 like that.
This also shows how cops always have to deal with situations going from 0-100 really quick. People are always quick to say, “he could’ve done this, could’ve done that” when in reality, the officer had to make a split second decision when the guy already fought with them, and took the one officers taser. It’s a shitty situation as a whole because now if an officer feels threatened he/she will have to think about getting fired afterwords like in this case. It’s sad.
Francis Rizzo so a white man who killed two woman and a child can chase a cop without getting shot but not a man who was sleeping in his car. A white man by the name Jerry can do something similar and not get shot? The Jerry guy resisted, stole their baton then beat them both and stole their police car. They didn’t think to shoot him so what exactly is your point here? Also he’s running from them not towards them so I don’t see why they should play god and decides whether or not he lives.
Dang he was gonna let him sleep it off. Even said to himself he is fricken wasted walking back to the car, it wasn't until he tried to drive off he had a problem. This officer was overly nice to him.
theres really nothing they could do BUT let him sleep it off since he wasnt causing any real damage other than holding up a bit of traffic in a drive through, now if he was DRIVING at the moment then he wouldve gotten arrested for a dui or something

Probably to "supplement" his salary. Why would he 'replace' it?
Ah yes, the officer will have lawsuits against him for doing his duty. When he tased the other cop, he could’ve very easily taken his gun too. The thing about police officers is, you only have a few options to take down a target with non-lethal ways. Once you lose your main non lethal, and it’s something you can’t fight back against while it’s being used, you have no other options to protect yourself. Not to mention, he also assaulted 2 police officers, and tased one. He was just asking to get what happened to him. The officer did nothing wrong.

Aaaaaand felony murder....
Above and beyond the call of duty modern warfare 2 campaign remastered
Explain the guy who shot an Ak because he didn't want to wear a mask

@@SuicideVan There's no evidence that shooting in the legs can kill anyone unless the target was allowed to bleed for a long while after the act so you're making things up here I'm afraid and I'm not sure why.

Thats because as a white privileged person COPS would NEVER stop you, if you pointed a gun at any cops they would spend hours talking you down-WITHOUT firing a single shot, then when you got hungry while holding a pointed gun, they would feed you and give you a time out. My husband was in the same situation at a gas station he was passed out the engine running. Person at gas station called the cops he said yes officer I'm drunk and they took him to the station end of story
Not funny
Kirby Neither are you
So people are cool with this guy being murdered?
El Toro No, it’s sad when anyone does, but had he cooperated, he would have been fine. He made a bad choice and unfortunately had to pay for it. If he were out driving drunk on the road, he could have caused an accident and caused someone else to die. There is no “win-win” situation.
El Toro Why did he decide to murder himself?
He cooperated for 40 minutes. Clearly inebriated and even admitted he was. But in 2 seconds he made a choice. Really sad to watch this go from 0-60 like that.
Not making any excuse for the dude but I wonder if recent events caused him to reacted the way he did.
It’s sad.
Garasky you should react the opposite of what he did. George I’m sure was resisting arrest which then led to him on the ground.
The cops made a choice. They didn't have to shoot.
how the heck did his family win a 1 million dollar settlement?
hes drunk, fights with the cops and attempts to flee!
@@crownedroyal738 Depending on where you are, being in the drivers seat with the keys in the ignition, is considered a DUI.
@@hecatommyriagon655 I honestly thought that was the case everywhere, I mean why else would you be in the driver's seat unless you were driving? hahaha
@@TheAmishTechSupport I know, right?! However, there are places where they need to prove that you have actually driven the car. Say that you are parked somewhere and have the ignition on, to listen to music and drinking a beer. That, in some places, will not give you a DUI, since you weren't technically driving.
@@hecatommyriagon655 That's fair. I honestly like the idea of giving these individuals the benefit of the doubt. I'd like to think majority of human beings recognize the risk of driving while intoxicated and wouldn't put themselves or others in danger.
I hope his family sees this video & see what really happened please don't make it a racial issue because its NOT!
I don't know about it being racial BUT I do believe he wrongfully was killed. He very well could have been wounded and get this faced wayyy more charges.... Then the guy is alive & this officer looks like a hero versus a killer for shooting a guy in the back twice.
@@clc77777 thank u👏👏👏
I dont believe he was wrongfully killed bruh...you fought with the officers being warned you would be tased you take the taser run away turns around discharges the taser almost hitting the officer. This isnt isnt the only video there's another angle he should have just complied btw a taser is considered a deadly weapon
@@clc77777 When someone points a gun at a cop and shoots, the cop won't stop to ask around what kind of gun was pointed at him and he won't/can't target the legs, he will shoot to stop the one with the gun. He has 0.5 seconds to react. It's protocol & training. And being shot in the back doesn't matter, if it did, one could show his back to the cops and shoot at them with a half turn? Nonsense, right?
@@clc77777 do you have any sort of training with weapons? If not please stfu!
these cops acted in self-defense NO matter this dude was black brown or purple smh
Self defense??? They shot him in the BACK while he was running away. It would have made sense if they shot him while he was on top of them but they didn’t. He wasn’t even close when they shot him.
Nobodae he had their taser if the suspect gets their taser they are supposed to neutralize them maybe watch the whole thing instead of the 15 second clips on Twitter
@@nobodae3296 look u demoRAT, the dude had just punched both the cops and was high on drugs and booze and the Taser didn;t even affect him but he shot it at the cops and they had every right to use deadly force
@@pingasman8955 he,s a demoRAT bro, no use in talking to em they non-reachable
sans He was still running away dumbass. And according to Georgia law, you’re only supposed to use deadly force if it’s necessary to prevent death or great bodily injure. How tf would they get killed or badly injured by somebody who was RUNNING AWAY with his BACK TURNED with a weapon specifically designed to be NON LETHAL??? Just say you’re racist. It’s obvious and takes less time.
“I feel focused.” He’s killing me!
As much as some cops have not been fair towards our community, this dude really tested and pushed his luck. Also, where is the logic in burning down Wendy's? Why?
@Ricky Parmar 😂😂😂😂😂
@Ricky Parmar oh that's fucking rich from someone in a country with ridiculous speech laws.
I agree why burn down the Wendy's, it had nothing to do with the shooting.. the place gave many people jobs in that area and now they can't work..
Somebody should have attempted to check on him or wake him up before calling the cops. I have seen this before and done just that even tho he was intoxicated it could have easily been a medical condition. He did push his luck and it didn't end well. He was wrong but he was no threat once he ran away, he was shot in the BACK. Man i hate this.
They probably saved lives by burning Wendy's. Have U ever eaten there? 😱
