- “Try A Little Harder” by The Rolling Stones
Composers: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Lyrics:
Doot do doot do doot do doot
Don't you worry try a little harder
Don't you worry try a little harder
Don't you worry try a little harder
Don't you worry try a little harder
The girl really wants you then don't you see?
You gotta give her all the lovin' that she needs?
Have a try, try it one more time
Have a try, try it one more time
Don't you worry try a little harder
Don't you worry try a little harder
Give her lovin' that's a little stronger
Give her lovin' that's a little stronger
If you’re with your baby
When the day turns to night
You gotta give her lovin'
Make her feel alright
It's alright, it's alright
Try one more time, it's alright
Don't you worry try a little harder
Don't you worry try a little harder
Say goodnight and stay a little longer
Say goodnight and stay a little longer
You got to keep her from cryin' then you got to try
To work pretty hard to keep her satisfied
Just try, try it one more time
Try it one more time, have a try
Try a little bit harder
Try a little bit harder
Try a little bit harder baby
Try a little harder
Try a little harder
If you’re with your baby
When the day turns to night
You gotta give her lovin'
Make her feel alright
Have a try

@Ry Healey to each his own. Jags and Richards were experimenting with songwriting around then and while we know how great they would become, even they admit that their early stuff was pop driven rubbish. Andrew Oldham their manager was encouraging this and to go hard away from the blues. Brian hated it and that as much as anything helped inflate the already existing rift between the 4. Both sides over time were proven right. Mick, Keith and Andrew because mick & Keith became prolific song writers, which was crucial for their future. But Brian was also proven right because their foundation was the blues and even mick & Keith realized a few years later that they had to return to that rather then trying to copy everyone else. With Brian passing and the power of mick & Keith, most don’t remember (or even acknowledge) the role of Brian influencing their return to the blues rock vibe and their golden era. I’m not saying that Brian led this return, but his original vision of a blues band was taken away when Andrew came in the seen and was returned when Andrew left the scene after 67. Also, their one pure blues track on beggars during the return, is Brian laying down a beautiful slide on No expectations. Every album after up to 73 had a similar kinda track. (Love in vain, I got the blues, Ventilator, etc) Brian was proven right in the end
@@deeg8849 Parachute Woman is more of a traditional blues style than No Expectations being a 12 bar. But Brian does play great blues bottleneck on the song giving the song a bluesy feel.
